FX8350 and overclock it to 5GHz

Wait for zen

This

Buy a snibby crab

>Intel instead of CPU
Power8 or better only.

6600k

Why?

It will be the best cpu ever. For games especially

It will bring all cpu prices down

Depends on what kind of games you play, most games don't really make use of hyperthreading and the differences between i5 & i7 are only a few fps so just go for the i5 and put the extra money into the gpu I'd say

4690k

6600k & 6700k doesnt even come with fans

I have 4690k. I can play everything at max. So dunno.

IMHO, i7 is not built to utilize 8 threads

the overall performance pretty much stays the same so it's just marketing

I'm thinking of getting the 4690k. How's it been so far for games?

said to be 3-5% weaker than 6600k
thats like around 1-3 fps on cpu intensive games

CPU improvements over the years have been negligible since AMD cant compete for like 5 years already.

Such a price without competition

>getting a k chip the using the stock cooler

this

I3 6100

I have idea what the fuck I'm doing pls help

Stupid weaboo retard, not surprised you're a. Tech illiterate moron.

6600k is the better choice because it has ddr4 and better single core performance.

Retard. There's literally no reason to buy Haswell any more.

Looks fine as a high range build. pcpp filters your searches for compatibility with your current build by default.

fully this, you won't need hyperthreading, put all your shekiels into the card

Don't buy outdated tech, don't listen to that stupid weaboo.

that looks ok, but if you're going for a bit of longevity get a mobo/cpu that supports ddr4, the higher ram speeds have actually been shown to improve fps in some games..
>I'm assuming it's for gaming

Thanks guys

Sup Forumsuys, is it worth to change from a 2500K to a 6500 non K? It would cost no money for me and I'm wondering if it's an upgrade. Currently I'm running the 2500K at 4.5Ghz but I've read that the 6500 can beat it even on Stock clocks. Is it possible to OC a 6500 to 4Ghz with BLCK?

If it won't cost money, then yeah. You'd benefit from lower temps and ddr4

Don't do BLCK, but if you can do it. Only for free.

Z68 is outdated, but still not worth the upgrade. Except you want 6-10 cores. DDR4 is a meme, you can get DDR3 with similar speeds. DDR3/4 is almost the same, there are no differences performance wise. The only advantage of DDR4 is higher capacity, easier higher speeds (Compability) and long-term support. There will be a point when DDR3 becomes expensive again.

>Be me
>Have a Z77 ATX mobo with 1155 socket
>With a i5 3570k processor
>Want to change to a mini-ITX mobo and use the same processor
>They don't manufacture motherboards with that socket any more, so i have to buy a new Z170 mini-ITX motherboard AND a i5 6600k processor
>Processor is barely better than the one i already have

Pic related is the face of Intel when they force motherboard manufacturers to stop producing mobos with the old (but still perfectly funtional) 1155 socket.

i5 if you don't play ARMA
i7 if you do

sheiiit, is i7 really needed for ArmA? I want to play it but I don't want to pay that much

no, this cunt thinks because it is CPU intensive it's gonna use all 8 threads, it won't, what matters is GHz, OC an i5..

prove me wrong

6600k is much better than your shit ivy bridge toy

Really I just got a 6500 and it came with a stock heatsink. Already have an aftermarket cooler on it to oc but I can't oc until I have a dedicated GPU and I'm waiting for the 480

He said 6600k. I bought a 6600k and it didn't come with a hsf. I believe all unlocked processors intel sells don't come with the stock hsf.
>Already have an aftermarket cooler on it to oc but I can't oc until I have a dedicated GPU
Why not? I'm also waiting for a GPU(1070), I've been playing Overwatch at 30 fps, 1080, some settings at max but scaling at 50%.
Fun game, can't wait for the 1070.

They decided that if you bought a K skew CPU, that you were also gonna get an aftermarket cooler, which is a good assumption.

>no reason to buy Haswell any more
Can you give benchmark with stock frequencies please. I wanna buy new processor but i cant spend extra money on overclocking.
