Startpage >slow, but good results (uses Google) >pays google for results >cheap layout
DuckDuckGo >fast, but bad results >instant answers like Google >owner has sketchy background >hosted on Amazon servers >affiliated with Amazon and eBay >cute duck tho
DDG can use Google btw. Just add g! before the first word.
Michael Gray
Why not use Google and problem solved. No need to be hipstery.
Colton Foster
I use startpage. It does everything I need it to do, which means I type in what I'm looking for and get relevant results.
Xavier Perry
searx.me works like a charm for me, results are more or less good
Owen Rivera
Ddg results dropped in quality significantly in the past month or so. I find myself forced to fallback to ixquick or plain google more and more. Is this due to yahoo shutting down BOSS?
Mason Baker
DuckDuckgo is a cool idea and I like the bangs (!g, !yt, ...) but not so sure about the privacy indeed.
Jordan Stewart
Found the functional ignoralis.
Blake Scott
You do know that Google, Microsoft and all those big companies already posses your data, right?
Logan Carter
Have you guys been having any problems with Searx recently? I've had times in the past few days when I search something and get mostly bullshit unrelated results then run my search through Google/Yahoo/Bing and get relevant results. This is really weird since the only search engines I have it set to run through are Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
Ian Lopez
what has Sup Forums become
Jace Cook
havent been around my pc for a week or so but that doesn't sound familiar to me
Benjamin Lewis
Think something strange might be going on with Bing/Yahoo, I took them off the list and suddenly got completely relevant results.
Angel Roberts
Just use the g! bang.
This.
Yahoo related AFAIK.
Oliver Allen
None of them. Use searx. The only search engine which actually delivers source code instead of "promises".

Landon Price
started seeing the yahoo logo in my ddg results.
Justin Watson
ddg got me the bangs are too useful
Luke Hernandez
Searx looks awesome. Should've checked it out before.
Henry Hill
If you use ddg you might as well just use google.
Luis Foster
>>fast, but bad results The results aren't so bad, I find them sometimes even better than google >google something about a prduct >first 10 results are from shops selling said product
>use duckduckgo >actually has the manufacturer's prduct page in the top results
Duckcuckgo since Google doesn't give me relevant results anymore. All I get are edgy news articles instead of informational pages. Sad life I miss when Google results were on point, even with verbatim turned on
Josiah Murphy

Startpage results are unfortunately often useless. DDG is OK, and a good alternative.
Andrew Jackson
I'm using Qwant. It's french and supposely secure. But it's a bit too slow for my taste sometimes

Do you need cookies for Searx or is it possible to define preferences in the URL (e.g. searx.me?preference=value)?
