When nvidia showed the "GTX 480" for the first time, it turns out it was a wholly fake card held together literally with woodscrews. Imma try to find the image of it, but someone else will likely beat me to it.

nvidia demoed a card but they used regular hardware screws meant for wood to connect the end plate

the implication is of course the card they demoed wasn't real but woodscrews is a nice catchphrase for people to latch onto much like housefires and no drivers
