I was exaggerating, but you get my point. Would there be a legitimate reason to get these apart from simply wanting the latest and greatest, which in and of itself isn't a bad thing.
Its a halo product. Its meant for advertising more so than anything, as in, "This is the worlds most powerful GPU". This is based off the GP100 so its memory configuration is a bit excessive for gaming but again, thats not the point.

Yeah I just sold one of my 980 Ti's because I only play Dota and maybe some Fallout 4 or GTA V once in a while. I see now that high end gaming PC's are a major waste of money. Still it was way cheaper than my old hobby of custom cars.
