I am waiting for Vega and big Pascal.

Whichever is the better deal. I love Sapphire's 480, it's so nice looking. Too bad even two would just be a sidegrade at best.

I was going to get a 480 myself but I really don't need it, whilst my CPU is shite and needs upgrading my GPU is fine for my needs (R9 285)

I wish I didn't have to get new cards. I'm just hitting the vram ceiling too often. It's really a waste because the actual raw performance of them is fantastic. (those cards are 970's)

My previous system actually was a FX6300. It's a decent little chip. I think I OC'd it to 4.3 stable which wasn't too good. I try not to upgrade more than once every 3 or 4 years.

Pic related, my old build.

But I did just get a new GPU, sort of

and yes I know, I should have waited for aftermarket 480s, but I can just return the 290 potentially or sell it once the best possible 480 comes out, in the mean time I'll have a higher end GPU finally for at least a month

Applied for EVGA step up for my one 980ti, what's the max I could sell my second card for on Ebay? It has an ASIC of %82 and i've only had it for six or so months.

Why wouldn't you just be smart and wait for the 1080ti/Vega cards?

It will be much easier to flip the cards from 1080s to 1080tis than it would to flip 980tis to a 1080ti

I get what youre saying and it sounds stupid but it also makes sense

Or you just sell the 980ti when the 1080ti comes out, the 1080s are only about 20% faster at best compared to a 980ti

Going to get a 1070 hopfully when price fuck up stops

You don't need one with that display, buy a better display first

By the time the 1080ti comes out the 980tis would have dropped in price even more than they already have.

But then it's probably $800-900 for a truly 4k capable GPU, minus the sold 980tis. at anywhere from 400-500 total.

So, what's the end cost of upgrading to a 1080, and then further upgrading again when the better GPU comes out?

>i have no friends so i seek validation online: the thread: the repost

You can post this every thread but we'll never stop

Still rocking the amd radeon HD 6670.
:^)

Can't wait to post new Sup Forumsuts. Won't be ready for a few weeks though.

>cable management

what are you doing with the ITX stuff?

You going ATX or M-ATX?

>moving soon
>afraid muh guts won't survive the journey

;_;

take out the gpu and CPU tower and there's no worries

Just keep the seatbelt on on ur pc m8

Going ATX. I just can't get the cooling I want out of this PC. Maybe a slightly bigger ITX chasis would have sufficed but, there are some expansion slots I have plans to fill up.

>Probably two GPU's, possibly three if I can get a third at the right price.
>If only two GPU's, probably a PCIe x1 screen capture card, and possibly might "downgrade" my external DAC and headphone amp to something like the Xonar Essence STX II, just for convenience.

The NCase will likely be used as a small and portable gaming PC with some older hardware I have laying around. It'll also serve as a PC for the GF to play her games on at home.

>Probably two GPU's, possibly three if I can get a third at the right price
The 10xx series only supports two way SLI I thought.

I'm actually not losing any money going from the 980tis to 1080s. So it's completely worth it.

I wish one of these companies I have been applying to would call me already. I want to upgrade my monitor then GPU.

waiting for 2 rx480 nitros

that sapphire 480 looks alright

Two GPUs are already barely supported yet you want three? are you new to the whole PC gayming scene because practically everyone with have a brain knows three way SLI is fucking stupid.

I want that case but I can't justify the 80 pound price of it

Yeah 3 and 4 way SLI is so useless Nvidia is dropping support.

I think NVidia said they only officially support two way SLI, but it's possible to use three-way without any real support or some such. I'd have to look back into it.

Either way, I'm re-using my 980. I've seen a few places with 980's selling them new for $350. So, having a second one wouldn't be too expensive for the likely gains in most games I play. The third card I don't think would really benefit me or be needed though, which is why I'm shying away from that. Plus one of my friends who comes over a lot likes to play games on my X1 "competitively" (maximum kek) which is why I was considering the screen recorder. It's an Elgate HD6 Pro or some such is the name. Looks pretty decent and low profile. So, again, that'll like happen instead of two GPU's. And I'm going to hopefully be cooling my two GPU's on a 360x60mm radiator, and the CPU on a 360x26mm radiator. Not sure about GPU's, but, aiming for a full GHz over clock on the CPU.

Debating whether to get the 1080 HOF or Classified for a 2way sli on a Rampage V Ed.10 Motherboard (as seen ). The thing is the HOF is a triple slot and I don't know if I should on that Motherboard. Its in a Cosmos II so airflow ain't no thing desu.

Can this thing in the red box be removed? It doesn't seem like it from what I've seen.

how are you not losing money?

lol what's the problem, you have 1 whole slot distance between 2 cards

I just wanted to make sure since its a new MB and I've never used tri slot GPUs before. I didn't want to splash down 1500+ only to find out that I could only fit one of them. thanks m8

1500$ and you're afraid the customer service of the reatailer of your choice lives in denial?

>Can this thing be removed?
That was a plastic protective covering for that rear I/O shield, which is metal. Yes, it's removeable, but go slow and patiently as it's stupid how they jammed it in to some spots.

Also, if you run into E-ATX compatibility issues due to the back plate and side-mounted LED's, both of those can be removed with full board functionality.

Bought the second 980ti for 450 brand new unopened from a friend

Also, for two GPU's running at X16 (if you're using a 40 lane CPU) the two cards should be placed in these two slots.

Aren't you still spending money to upgrade to 1080s?

x8 Vs X16 isn't going to matter at all for PCI-e 3.0

Not significantly, but, if you have the option to run both at x16, why not? Besides, he said his card was a triple slot card. Meaning it's going to block the PCIe 3.0 x8 slot anyways

No, the step up is free essentially, I only have to pay 10 dollars for shipping and one of my friends just agreed to buy my card for 650.

>one of my friends just agreed to buy my card for 650
some "friend' you are :^)

Everyone who spreads this meme are retards who use X8 and are seeking validation. Hold off on your graphs because I know you already have a folder full of them.

...

He's buying one 980ti for $650? Why? Was that for both?

In any case if you can sell one card for $650, that's most of the money for a 1080ti which would be 40-50% faster rather than 20% faster

The only thing that makes a difference is X4, and that's maybe 10% at best

His offer not mine, I just agreed to it. Get your morals out of here.

>he offered me more than it's worth and instead of being his friend and letting him know the actual value of what he is buying, i'm gonna take his money and buy something better because he is ignorant

Because why not just step up? I only have 10 more days left. Since I'm not losing any money I'm essentially getting a free upgrade to 1080s. Why would I pass that up?

Ur a faget

Pretty much

Well I guess dont be shocked if your friend calls you an asshole if he ever realizes it.

Cause that's a pretty dick move to do to someone you're calling a friend.

He does realize it though, he was originally going to buy off of Ebay but didn't want to deal with that cluster fuck. Then he was going to buy off of amazon but he wanted to know he would get a great overclocker. So he went to me.

He willingly offered you ~$250-300 more than what they are going for on ebay?

I mean, he could just buy a brand new GTX 1080 for that price from newegg, let alone ebay.

Sounds like you're full of shit, or your friend is basically giving you money because you're poor or some shit.

Nope, he specifically wanted a 980ti because he does CAD and video editing and the 980ti has better cuda performance. He was originally looking at the kingpin but it was 800 on Amazon.

Still doesn't make sense when newegg had an MSI 980Ti Golden edition for $399 new in box earlier today.

He doesn't like newegg because he's had really bad experiences in the past, same with Ebay. The only places he trusts are Amazon, tiger direct (which is basically dead), and Frys.

Whatever you say man, I still believe you're simply full of shit, it's the easiest explanation.

I'm really not, I'd have zero reason to lie to anyone here. Wouldn't benefit anyone.

o then why doesn't he buy from tigerdirect

...

it's 53€ in germany wtf. the dark acryllic glass which attracts loads of dust is not worth 80 pounds at all as well. you better get something else. the cooltek w2 seems cool as well

Microcenter has em for $440

In store only tho

Yeah our closest microcenter is a two hour drive. I've heard they are really fun places to just walk around in and look at all the stuff.

Which 500r case is more cancerous? White/black or black?

1$ soundproofing installed

aka the most ghetto shit ive ever done

at least with the new quiet fan, ssd and this padding, its really quiet

I said I likely won't use three GPU's at all, but just two.

Are those the pads used in shops to soak up oils?

yes, yes they are

pig absorbent pads

found you can get 2 for a dollar at ace hardware, grabbed 2 and found theyre really dense and actually pretty good at absorbing noise

also if i ever install water cooling, 2 birds 1 stone ya know?

New build in an s340. I like it a lot.

Picked up another SP120 for my CPU rad. I also found a big-ass black anodized heatsink, about half the height of my 980ti but about the same length/width. I'm gonna clean up the finish and pick up some thermal pads, see if tossing it on top of the backplate does anything fun.

Not a bad idea.

...

Now with GTX 1080!

>REPUBLIC OF GAYMERS
>Asus
There is a reason those cards aren't sold out user

But they are sold out.

Now

...

New psu installed not much of an upgrade but atleast i have a pc. Also i have a place holder gpu no r9 390 having trouble with the screen turning black when i play any games also the psu makes buzzing noises when i have it plugged in.

Question to anyone with a 1080, how easily does your card OC to 2.1GHZ?

I've got a 1070 and it overclocks to 2050mhz no problem by raising the offset core clock a bit
>both cards OC about the same

>worried about temps
As long as you're not throttling, why do you care about the temperature meme?

I don't remember step up working outside of one series of GPU's, aka can't maxwell to pascal. Unless of course EVGA recently changed that policy.

You can maxwell to pascal

how much for all the water cooling?

fuck if I know, bought it piece by piece over the course of a few months

Quick question: Do you think it's worth holding out for HBM2, or is that going to be insanely expensive?

did you plasti-dip your s340? that looks amazing

It's just a meme, same as DDR4. It has it's advantages, will you be able to tell? Answer:No, you'll just get better 3D mark E-peen scores.

Zen based APUs with HBM2 on package fucking when

2017----->>>>

3 way is still supported but requires "unlocking"

They removed that, they don't support 3-4 way in games at all, and you can do up to 4 way for benchmarking
