Didn't the devs abandon the truecrypt project and marked it as unsafe or something?

Is android encryption any good? Is it okay to use long password for boot drive and simple one to unlock the device?

Yes

NOTHING TO HIDE NOTHING TO FEAR

Niceme.me

sick epic general op, we surely needed another general on our lovely board

bits-please.blogspot.com/2016/06/extracting-qualcomms-keymaster-keys.html

As long as your device is protected with a long, strong password you should be somewhat fine. No where near as good as an iPhone's encryption.

Aight I'll just make another GPU or phone thread
And this isn't a new general you newfag

...?

This is one of the older generals, are you new here?

At first I had 2 normal drives with OS and data and a third encrypted one with animu, tv series, games etc
Then I realized that it was useless because of random caches everywhere so I would have needed to encrypt the other two drives and so I thought myself: the only way they're going to search my computer for pirated content is if they got enough evidence already so it's not worth it to have to insert a password each time you power up a pc.
I also upgraded to windows 10. I fully embraced the botnet and the normie life

>upgraded to windows 10
>upgraded

what are these squad1 squad2 trips in the op?

Nigga they are trip codes that say squad

Freedom bump

hey kids. do you neglect real life? you probably have a literal paper trail 10 miles long right behind you

who has yr info? can you name them?

At least the government doesn't know they masturbate to children

i wish these threads were about real topics. i recently gave my SSN to get a prepaid debit card (privacy tradeoff) loaded in cash to use debit at inherently insecure POS terminals (security benefit).

so if I run out of cash and some mcdonalds gets hacked, any magstripe data is 1. worthless after a couple $100 and 2. tied to no good info about me

otherwise it's cash. we all should know that EMV is flawed in america (slow and no PIN)

wtf am i supposed to do with these?

I really still don't get the obsession with privacy on mobile devices. I don't have anything illegal on my phone or laptop. Other than encryption to keep thieves out, what do I have to fear from the government? Hell, the only illegal stuff I do have is pirated software, on my home PC.
I don't care if someone wants to know I jerk off to Boku no Pico. I wouldn't want productive jobs to know about that, for obvious reasons, but how likely is it that someone's going to let every business in the country know that I masturbate to fucked up shit?
A lot of this seems like it's completely ignoring the whole deal about selective defense, or whatever. If your foe is your mom, you keep everything in an encrypted flash drive under your bed. There's no need for retinal scanners to keep your porn stash safe.
By the same token, who actually has info that would be useful to the government? Whose enemy actually is the government? Very few of us are leading a rebel group to overthrow the government, I'm sure.

I have no idea what this is about. You're using a manlet computer designed to transmit information from microphone, camera, and gps receiver in real time over an easily intercepted physical layer using shitty encryption and a service provider who is in bed with all the government agencies. The thing is designed from the ground up to broadcast where you are, what you say, and what you do. That's what they're marketted as. Now you want to add a password and think you're protecting something?

That is also a valid point. At the end of the day, what are you really keeping safe? And from whom?

Does anybody here use Tomb? How is it?
