Both are very lightweight, although the ui in lightning is MUCH better than naked.

I personally use tugabrowser since it has built in ad blocking and is also probably the fastest mobile browser. Isn't very lightweight though as it is based on chromium.

Waterfox's mobile browser is too unstable. I gave lighting a try and its snappy and quick but is there anything I can do to make it more private.

Any browser that comes with an up to date engine and/or doesn't make you manally update webview.

I tried it the other day with my new microG setup, that browser's UI is really fucking smooth, and pages load just as quick as Chrom/ium. I haven't checked the memory usage, but it's really fucking decent.

More updates couldn't hurt, though.


Naked is also a viable alternative for people with older phones, or just people who want even more performance out of their browsers.

Pure chromium is slower than caf builds
Tugabrowser is updated regularly (last update on june 18th) even if they are based on old chrome versions. So far there haven't been any major changes in chrome so even if the browser is a bit "outdated" it isn't missing anything.

Also, I've gotten so used to the faster speed that I can't switch back to anything else. I've tried using lightning several times but it is noticeably slower than Tuga.

Kek downloaded lightning 20 mins before I found this post (discovered it by just browsing fdroid for new browsers to try, cause chrome is gay) then fell in love with it.
