Win 10

I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 10. Now is there anyway to really get it to not spy on me, or is it just an inevitability

Gentoo

you cannot trust windows anymore with your data privacy it's sad

it's so saddening for me that my motherboard does not support VT-d and I cannot comfortably switch to Linux and isolate windows inside VM without network access

get the windows 10 enterprise edition, it doesnt have the trash normal version comes with apparently. God speed user.

LTSB edition? Lucky bastard.

>upgrading
>windows 10
pick one you tech iliterate fuck head

10 is not worth it.
is a liar, enterprise gets spied on just as much as non enterprise

classic fix
>delete system32

Your current windows already spies on you.

Just do it. Windows 10 is the best Windows available.

LTSB is non bloated but doesnt have store if you need netflix some apps etc. Also less updates

Enterprise is good but bloated. less spying and anti spy ant-beacon is a good 3rd party to block stuff

Your trips say inevitability.

Shi i i i i t.

If by best you mean;
>Slowest
>Most bloated
>Most error-ridden and buggy
>Most intrusive

Only people shilling Windows 10 are the ones blinded by the decent GUI and the ones salty because they were too stupid to stop the update

just be urself bro

You see. I am not shilling. But I truly never get errors and have never had a BSOD or anything. It's fast for me on my T420 as well. Bloat I took a lot away but yeah it's annoying. LTSB fixes that if need be.

I enjoy linux as well. But windows just works

GO ahead and use windows. Just not 10.
7 or 8.1 without telemtry updates is golden.

Submit to the botnet. It's comfy here.

"Best Windows available" didn't mean that it is good.
I have Linux as main system and Windows 10 in a VM. It's way faster than Windows 7 and uninstalling most bloatware is possible. There is no reason to use 7 anymore.

>wanting to turn off Windows Updates
I'm not saying you should trust Microsoft, but some of this stuff is kind of unintuitive. Why would the base Win 10 be any safer or more private than a patched Win 10?

It blatantly isn't faster than 7 in any way

>it's been a year and Microsoft still hasn't been implicated in selling user data to the mafia
>kind of want to upgrade because they're inevitably going to drop support for Windows 7 sooner or later
>finally accept the pending upgrade that's been nagging me for the past eleven months
>it fails
>searching for the error code reveals forum posts from summer 2015 complaining about the exact same issue and suggesting various voodoo fixes, with no indication of what could be causing it
I don't know why I expected any better.

Why would you need the store for Netflix?

Disconnect LAN and wifi. Use USB drives to move files. Air gap is best gap.

Motherboards are cheap m8
