Is this the best 1070 for overclocking with its 2x8pin connector?

Is this the best 1070 for overclocking with its 2x8pin connector?

Is being a cuck for the 3.5 worth it for the free overwatch?

You're fine for 1080p. Stil, wait the couple of days till the 1060 comes out.

Don't steal my thread.

>A shitty card

Just get the 390, or the 480.

Fury's have limited ram, 480 is is simply worse and barely beats a 970 in some games and 390x doesn't have much oc room. What do you suggest?

No the additional 6/8pins don't make any difference because the card is won't OC high enough for the power to be an issue. It's just a marketing trick.

buying AMD anyway cause n/v/idia belongs on

worse by like 10 fps on dx 11, wow sure is worth the extra 250-300$ to get the 1070 over a 480

>10fps
Okay what the fuck I shouldn't just judge by benchmarks. Still reviewers say the 1070 is the sweet spot for wqhd.

The 480 can do 60 fps 1440p judging by the fact it is about = to a 290x and a 290x could do 1440p 60fps

It doesn't fucking matter. Nvidia locked Pascal down so hard at a chip level that all of them overclock the same. The extra power connector does nothing. You won't even reach 100% of TDP with it overclocked to 2.1GHz and the voltage slider all the way up (which adds a massive 29mV).

This part intrigues me, think it'll carry over to the 1060 in OC ability?

Not as good as my ultra 2010 GTI ti Founders edition. but I guess you could play some diablo 2 with it

>massively gimps vram to 192bit
Pretty sure nvidia doesn't want you to oc to anywhere near 1070. They learned their lesson with the 980ti.

You'll have to turn some settings down to achieve that though.

the whole pin connector meme started withe 480

Nobody cared about how many pins a gpu had before, nobody

But suddenly everybody fucking cares how many fucking pin a new gpu has

>1070 for overclocking
They all overclock the same and power draw is not the limiting factor. They are locked down on bios level and they won't run above 2100MHz unless you find a modified bios. Then, with voltage unlocked the power draw could potentially matter

This. 8 pin connectors today are marketing.

Mh so dropping a bit more for the 1070 to get a bit future proofness is reasonable?

I read Nvidia is much better at compression rates.

You do realise people buying a 480 will be on cards with low settings or medium at the moment and aren't even used to max ultra

i literally only turn down AA on something like star wars battlefront and get 70-90 fps at 1440p

ITT: One guy asks for purchasing advice on a 1070 and a bunch of AMDrones spread FUD.

AMD's worst element is their rabid fanmob.
