Guys I can't fucking decide. Is Matte coating worth the $30 difference per monitor?

Depends on how sunny your room gets.
Never (heavy dark curtains).
...
Glossy is always shit
But I can get TWO for less than what one name-brand 1440p costs.
>1440
just get 4k.
pcpartpicker.com
Then buy glossy, and after a week of pain you'll deglass it
Also look out for this monitor if you can find one for $200, mine was perfect
amazon.com
Or ya, if you're planning on buying 2, just get one giant 4k display man, look at this shit, look at this shit, this is what you what your goal in life should be
But I want to replace my dual 1080p with dual 1440p. I can't run anything in 4K with my budget anyway. The GPU(s) required are like twice the cost of one 4K monitor.
No you fool, you run 1080p on a 4k display, except for the games you can run at 4k. 1080p scales perfectly, and then you never need to replace your 40" 4k display, it gives you more pixels than 2 1440p displays

Or buy a monitor like the Wasabi Mango that can do 120hz 1080p or 4k

why not take a hammer and break it.
pull it out.
It would still be glued on
but muh multi-tasking workspace.
I don't think I could go back to a single monitor again.
>but muh multi-tasking workspace.

Clearly you misunderstand user
having a 40" or 50" 4k display is like having 4 20/25" 1080p displays with no bezel, there is literally nothing better for productivity
Wendell reviewed a lot of cheap korean 40" 4k displays
>tfw i prefer my glossy screen
If you have no windows maybe
My window is actually behind it.
How bright is it that it can defeat sunlight glare?
Goddamit, user, you're making me doubt myself now. I was about to buy 2 of one of those 1440p monitors.
I still feel like I won't be able to use the 4K fully without a very high end GPU. Currently planning on getting a gtx 1070 sometime this month after these monitors.
not super bright? I mean that the window faces the back of the monitor.
If it becomes a hassle I just close the blinds.
what?
4k is like having 4 1080p monitor.
you're not gonna full screen 4chin are you?
>buy one 4k
>keep your old 1080p
>4k for porn and games
>1080p for Sup Forums
or do 1080p-4k-1080p eyefinity for autism setup
You don't get 4k for gaming yet, and a 1070 is only as fast a 980ti, which can't exactly do 4k, what's your current GPU? Just run games at 1080p and you have a 4k desktop, or run them windowed at 1440p
Wait for Vega/1080ti before you buy a single GPU for 4k
1070 can certainly do 4k if you're not a sperg ie needing ultra 60+ fps on every game
>more than 60Hz 4k monitor
that's my point
a 1070 gets ~50fps on GTA V maxed out. if you're reasonable, you can easily get 60 if you turn down MSAA or whatever
Or you could just wait, because if a 1070 can barely do 4k now, very quickly it'll need to be replaced as more intensive games come out
Yes
Glossy will reflect every light source
Alright guys. I've found a good 4K display for a good price.
$269 28 inch AH-VA/IPS Matte 4K
go big or go home, 28" requires too much scaling
That's a TN panel. Any TN over 24" and you're going to have a bad time.
The 32 inch one is $439 though.
$269 is a good enough price to get 2 of them.
goddamit, why is this so hard.
>goddamit, why is this so hard.
Welcome to life, just buy a giant IPS 4k display, that's all you need
also
Just skip to 11:10 on the 28" video if anything
is Crossover a reliable korean brand?
there's a used one im thinking of getting but id heard they're shit, even compared to qnix
Get matte so you don't ever have to see your ugly face in the reflection.
My friend bought a glossy qnix because they didn't have matte at the time, he hates it
Meanwhile I liked my matte one so much that I bought another
So yeah I'd say it's worth it
Make sure the one you're buying only has DVI output otherwise you'll have some awful input lag from the DVI->DP converter or whatever they use
but i'm a qt
>buying a chink monitor
>not getting a pb258q
It's well worth the $100 extra to actually have a warranty worth a damn.
Depends on how bright your room is. If it's a dark room then go glossy. Matte coatings cover up light and precise edges IMO.
My brothers Dell Ultrasharp doesn't look as good as my Acer IPS in my opinion. By far.
i'm glad i went with a benq va panel instead of ips from acer.
better blacks and none of that ips glow.
VA is alright but my IPS from Acer has no dead pixels and no IPS glow. 130$ almost 4 years ago. Very happy with it.
