what essential tech items would you take with you if you where to live off the grid with no internet.
you can only choose 3 items.

Why can I only choose three?
Can I build more tech with the three items I take?
Can I bring items comprised of many smaller items?
Does a power source count as an item? What about batteries for that power?
does off the grid mean I still have electricity? From solar panels?
>If so, a laptop stuffed with various PDFs on survival, hunting, farming, etc.
>A really good hand crank LED based flashlight
>An electric grinding wheel to keep my various tools sharp.
This is all assuming I have the stuff already such as an axe, generator, solar panels, a rifle, etc.
Has anyone ever truly thought of doing such a thing? I mean I love the Internet, but I've always kind of longed to just live on my own.
>Buy 50 or so acres in full. No mortgage.
>Build a kick ass house that can survive any sort of weather.
>Hunt, farm, but still have stuff like TV for movies. PC for gaming. etc.
Maybe pop into the nearest town (50 or so miles away) to get some stuff from the super market. Download or update some of my games from public WiFi somewhere before leaving. Just exist.
>Why can I only choose three?
Because it's a challenge of being able to assert what items you'll need.
>Can I build more tech with the three items I take?
Yes you can, only if that item isn't anything to do with establishing an internet connection.
>Can I bring items comprised of many smaller items?
Depending if it's in a package or not.
>Does a power source count as an item? What about batteries for that power?
Yes it does, you may bring batteries, but they count as one item.
>does off the grid mean I still have electricity? From solar panels?
Correct.
Desktop if peripherals count towards it being one unit
Laptop
And I'd want to bring all my studio equipment so that makes it tough for me to only have 3 items so Idk what the fuck I would do
If I realistically did this I'd probably do the opposite of limit how much tech related shit I could have and get Internet cause it would be a good majority of my indoor entertainment just as it is now.
NVG
Sat phone
Fucking machine
well then yup. Since I get juice from panels, some type of computer. (prefer a decent PC if everything involved with a PC is considered one thing. i.e. tower, monitor, peripherals etc) Said computer would be loaded to the brim with any type of media/information I could need or want. Movies, music, games, PDFs with information on everything from farming, to hunting, to fishing, to even how to fix the solar panels.
Would still keep my electric grinding wheel
And would trade out my flashlight for a rugged satellite GPS unit.
HIJACKING THE OP
hey OP your question sucks because Sup Forums is full of turboautists trying to "win" the game, thats why i propose a more realistic question:
YOU CAN ONLY BRING WHATEVER FITS IN
HANDBAGGAGE
you are flying with british airways so thats:
56 cm × 45 cm × 25 cm MAX
23 kg MAX
>flying commercial air
The Windows 10 of travel.
2+m2 24v solar panel, k-sat terminal, laptop.
A TV
A DVD player
The complete Seinfeld series
Including the finale?
Blade sharpening stones, decent knife, bow saw.
Elaborate. You have piqued my interest.
>something to generate 12v
>chromebook like pc with a full 2TB disk
>internet
I'll take yo user, you are hacky
>An e-ink reader loaded with a fuckton of survival books and other assorted reading material
>This solar/hand crank radio+flashlight+charger amazon.com
>A good survival-focused multitool
how long off the grid OP?
None of you faggots have mentioned a gun, so have fun getting your chinkbooks stolen.
>solar Panel
>ham radio
>table saw
>not knowing how to make a bow
>off the grid
>ham radio
you do realize that the government can isolate the location of that ham radio to within exact inches, right?
you do realize that every frequency is constantly recorded, right?
you do realize that every recording will have your voice on it and by identifying your voice and tying it to the exact location of your ham radio, they know where you are and you aren't really off the grid, right?
A bow will be very effective when the person coming at you has a gun.
Why would a person come at me with a gun?
>ranged weapon
>better get closer to the unarmed person so they can melee
>wat moet deze afbeelding betekenen, user ;-;
>an ipad loaded with infomation, books, manuals
>led flashlight
>handheld ham radio
goes without saying i'm also bringing batteries & power adapters
