What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Boomers happened

Nothing. They are still highly profitable.

It's a big box store when Amazon and warehouse stores like Costco exist.

Its always sorta been a normie store, but it got way worse, then Radioshack died... RIP... now to get electronic components, only online has, like digikey (good site )

I stay as far fucking away from Bestbuy as I possibly can.

HDMI's cables are still $50+ and Aux cables still start at $30.

Shit gives me a heart attack.

Millennials are worse desu

Walked into my local one for shits and giggles and I got a V-Moda XS for $160 due to some unannounced sale. Thanks Bust Buy.

I use my best buy card for in store credit and price match Amazon all the time. Hate me fggt

I have no idea how this place even exists with the Amazon, Target and Walmart around.

I feel like the only reason you would ever go in here is if you somehow want to pay more than double what something is worth

>never leaving your home.
>buying something you never seen
>waiting weeks

get off your ass

They sell macs, and support them. That's enough normie flow to churn a profit.

>waiting weeks

poorfag without amazon prime detected

lel

>amazon prime
lol

But they literally match the price of any reputable online merchant. So if you're paying that much it's your fault

>paying to be part of the growing amazon botnet

Haven't been to a BestBuy in over 10 years. I really don't understand why anyone still shops there. Prices are inflated more than most brick and mortor retailers and the employees are annoying as fuck.

Lmao, I bet you're one of those fucking twats that come in and ask us questions you know damn well we can't answer because you need to feel special.
Also the geriatric dumb old fucks keep us alive and kicking, once the boomers are gone the Buy will be no more

Best Buy is great. I go there and price match something from amazon to get something right away.

If I don't like it I just return it without any restocking fee or shipping cost.

So what exactly is the problem?

...

Isn't target dead. Oh right. Just in canada. Well living in canada do deal with electonics is just too expensive. Building gamindmg pc. Difference around $200. Differemce in smartphones $100. Difference in video games $15. Fuck this shit. I'm moving to Murica

Shipping things costs money. What the fuck did you expect?

Dude my dad bought a PC and had to return. No questions asked. Best buy isn't the best idea of buying electronics but it is a nice physical store with real nerds and geeks running the place.

Writing for my phone

I went there with my dad once to buy an SSD for his laptop and the guy there said that since all they had were "2.7 inch" drives, they wouldn't work.

>"2.7 inch"
lmao

I only go to best buy for things I wouldn't be bothered to order online and wait a week for, like thermal paste. They also sell PSUs, ram, HDDs, ssds, graphics cards, and peripherals. Overall a decent store to buy random shit at. Just don't expect to buy a whole build from there though.

sup fellow emploeye

He probably thought you were talking about the super double dick not fitting your 2.7 inch anus

literally the same here. employee discount is the shit. don't like being taxed on paycheck tho

They sold things at store prices and the internet sold things at internet prices, and eventually people went with simpler and cheaper. People go to best buy to look before they buy most of their shit online. Circuit city died hard, best buy has been on the decline for years with shitty management and poor adaptation and that whole debacle with buying geeksquad, but really there's just no good niche for them except rich people who don't give a shit or morons. Sometimes you are blockbuster.

>mfw their ceo sold half his stock in best buy last month

I mean yeah, it sucks that there will be less places to demo electronics, but they were kind of ass compared to microcenter and frys. Maybe radioshack will learn a lesson and get their shit together.

I feel like boomers are the only thing keeping them alive now.

they have to pay rent

with price match, their base prices are pretty much the same as amazon

does amazon charge recycle tax for monitors in california?

>people still don't know Best Buy do price match
I only go there if I need something in stock or emergency

I go to best buy to look at things in person before buying online.

Tv's, mice, monitors if they have what I'm looking for, etc. Test it out in store then go home and order cheap.

No, definitely not.

Boomers are worse. Boomers have no sense for anything, they just want.

> match the price of any reputable online merchant
> reputable online merchant
> for shit like aux or HDMI cables
I bought a HDMI cable for like $5 and an aux cable for about $2 on eBay about two to three years back and haven't had a single issue with them. There's no reason to ever pay Best Buy prices for cables unless you literally cannot wait

If you can get them to price match with Amazon, they 'aight.

This is the only answer.

I am a person who fears buying anything online, therefore I go to brick and mortar stores. Gladly found a local micro center in my area after the Tiger Direct stores shut down.

something something free heath bars

they will be out of business soon. The way they take advantage of their employees on the "sales" floor is almost unethical. Have you noticed mostly people in their younger 20s and late teens work there? Thats because young people are naive and stupid. They will do the job they are given and be glad about it. Older, more experience people will look at the give/take to the job and laugh.

I don't mind them. Their prices are insane, but you can price match them with Amazon, newegg, b&h, and microcenter, so prices end up being as good as anyone else.

As soon as comp USA died best buy stopped carrying cpus and such. They used to be the go to place for components but now the best I can get is a gpu.

Does anyone ever buy these?

the home theater equivalent of an audiophile

My dad likes Best Buy, because he doesn't want to deal with a courier breaking shit, then having to deal with a return through some site in another state that could just fuck him over. I don't really blame him.

because they price match amazon

Not everyone is neet

Some people just want something at a reasonable, not great, price and don't have time to shop 250 websites

Also their prices are reasonable when you find a good sale.

I shopped around everywhere and best buy had a good price on my monitor, only like a $10 difference and I could skip the wait for shipping

iirc employees get them for just a few bucks. And yeah, those home theater fuckos are real good at their jobs. I've seen many a schmuck walk out with an armful of monster cables.

That's why when I read peoples' opinions about Best Buy 'dying' I chuckle to myself. If you think that you really don't understand how deep the rabbit hole goes.

>This
I bought an open box lenovo g50-45. Used it for a few days then returned out due to faulty GPU. They have me a new one for no extra charge.
