Why does anyone use Spotify in 2016? Play music has superior library, a much less buggy app, lets you upload music to the cloud and you don't have to fuck around with the deprecated libspotify to use it on your Raspberry Pi.

I keep hearing about that Spotify thing but I don't know what it is and I don't care to know. I bet it's something inane as fuck like a messaging service or whatever. You probably should stop using it because it might be a botnet.

That original version of the Pi has a bent pin

I don't like maintaining a music collection.
I like the suggestions that are generated from my listening habits.
I like the phone app.
I don't care that they harvest my taste/listening habits.

tl;dr spotify care more about jewing money from creators of audio products who pay for spotify connect than they care about their customers

Play music does all that

>Superior library
>shit quality

Neh, i'll stick with spotify premium for another 3 or 5 years, i pay only 6 bucks for a year of premium.

I don't like Google, it would bother me if they had all the info on me Spotify does.

How can Spotify survive without Steven Wilson and Roy Harper?

How is it shit?

The NSA gets it anyway since Sweden is America's little bitch

>less than 320kbps.

I use both. Have my entire library uploaded to Google Play Music and use Spotify for discovery and things I don't have. I can get Apple Music too for the student rate, so I can have Spotify, Apple, and GPM for cheap.

>using literal botnets

This board has been invaded by millenials.

Why use a music streaming service? mpd and icecast are all I need.

Convenience is important for some people.

I use MPD with Spotify

I can't find any numbers

thoughts on wireless streaming to wireless speakers?

Wireless speakers are usually memes, and most other active speakers too

Because I don't Pi. Also Spotify isn't part of the Google.

>literal botnets
>literal
Please, go on.

Whats that add-on board and where do I get it?

hifiberry.com/dacplus

if you don't know what it is or does, you clearly don't need it.
>thread about music
>red and white cinch cables out of board, probably for music
>googling "raspberry pi audio module" or "raspberry pi DAC" immediately shows the thing portrayed
I'll give you one more hint: hifiberry.com/dacplus

damn too late

>deprecated non-free api
stallman was right again

Tyler plz

Has Stallman ever been wrong?

>Play music has superior library
Got a source on that, buddy?

this is the most Sup Forums post I've ever seen

Google it

>doesn't download music

I download it as I need it

based

Raspberry Pis are garbage. Who gives a shit?

Spotify Connect doesn't even work that great. It fucks up my queue more often than it works.

I know what it is.
I did not know the name and I did not know where to get it.
And besides google indexed all my searches to IO boards instead of output boards.

Not really, no
