Anyone here have a shitty laptop like me

Anyone here have a shitty laptop like me
>cant hold a charge
>4 years old
>1.4 GHZ processor
>left latch taped together
Just fucking kill me

My laptop just died, my main laptop is now an IdeaPad S10
>Atom N270
>2GB RAM
>just tossed in a 120GB chink SSD
>10.1" 1024x576 screen

Would be a PowerBook G4 if I didn't just kill the battery

4 years old? Why are you complaining? I have 10 years old lenovo and it's still a good browsing machine, what's wrong with your laptop?

>4 years old
You don't know how to take care of stuff

4 years old is nothing

a core2duo laptop from 2008 is still usable today if you aren't a fucking retard

I have a dumbass sister who likes to for god know what and she jams THE FUCKING CHARGER IN LIKE TO DOWNLOAD RANDOM SHIT FROM STUPID WEBSITES SHE BROKE MY LAST ONE I HAD TO BUY S NEW One so i had to take my frustration how and make myself look like an ass somehow

Underage detected

I still have a thinkpad 760xl running windows95

>That resolution
What the fuck.

Well no shit shurlock

You need to be 18 to post here.

>crappy toshiba satellite
>1.8ghz amd single core crap
>2gb ddr2 ram
>ubuntu

I'm on that boat for sure. Max 20-30 minutes of charge.

> a machine made 4 years ago is old

you entitled little fuckfest.

how about you care for your belongings so that you can have them for their intended lifetime? are you that much of a fumbling idiot?

>you can install anything on it
>i'll install ubuntu by choice and then complain
>i'll complain about what I installed on it
>heh

just change the god damn battery ?

>I have 10 years old lenovo and it's still a good browsing machine

the t60 is fucking 10 years old holy fucking shit

GOML

4 years old can be a lot, depending on the machine.

My X220 works beautifully, while my sister bought some Acer and it has aged terribly bad.

>Would be a PowerBook G4 if I didn't just kill the battery
repack that shit

I've got a shitty acer laptop that lasted like a year before I replaced it. Shortest period of time I've ever had a laptop in use, usually switched 'em out every 7 or so years. Got it mainly to tow around with a bag full of other shit.

go get something with actual build quality that'll last you the next decade
shit, I still have a bunch of the older machines (including another Acer, which is held together with a retarded amount of duct tape -- never buying Acer again), they're just a bit slow and get relatively short battery life

I don't see myself changing this laptop until it just breaks or something major

I would if I could afford to buy some 18650s

Recently fixed up my brother's 8 year old MacBook unibody.
Threw in an SSD, 8GB of RAM, new battery and OS for a total investment of 170EUR which is now perfectly usable and realistically good to go for another 3 years.

What's going to happen to it in three years?

admittedly, this

looked into repacking a battery recently, and it's more money than I feel like laying down, assuming you don't chance it and get super-cheap chinese shit

HP pavilion x360 here, shit 720p screen and i got really big scratches on it in less than a year luckily i only take notes on it

>less than an hour battery life
>5 year old HP with AMD CPU and GPU
>fan never turns off
>touch screen gets phantom touches every few minutes
Thank fuck for xinput disable 12

The CPU can't be upgraded and neither can RAM past 8GB - if websites don't start slimming down soon and if browsers keep being RAM hogs this may eventually render it unviable.
Who knows though. Also reapplied thermal paste, which was completely cracked and dry at this point.

i feel you familia.
>Be me, circa 2013
>My granma gifted me a laptop for uni
>Not a big deal, 2,3ghz dual core, 4gb ram, 15 inch. Not the best but for uni paperwork and facebook works great
>About 3 weeks ago died forever
>Dad gave me his 8 y/o Compaq
>14 inch 2gb ram 2,1 dual core
>Surewhynot.tiff
>Plugged in my Antergos hdd
>Booted up just fine, everythings but wifi werks
I swear to god this shit won't fucking break anymore, is just like my Thinkpad t22.

Just get a used ThinkPad with 10 times the specs for $100

Buy a new one if you don't like your current. It's that simple.

that 1600x1200 IPS though

still the best

This. I have a T500 with a Core2 Duo T9400 that runs flawlessly. Only thing I've added has been a SanDisk SSD, made a huge improvement in performance.

>no battery
>8 years old
>2Ghz 'pentium'
>GANOOLONICKS
>keyboard with literally no feedback and missing function buttons from a failed clean
I'm gonna replace the keyboard (for like 10$) but otherwise it's still okay
