Brand loyality

How much of a brand whore are you?
I just realized i have not a single duplicate brand on my desk and surroundings

Samsung, Acer, V7 monitors
Fujitsu keyboard
Sharkoon mouse
Creative speakers
Trust webcam
Wacoom tablet
Logitech gamepad
Verbatim external drive
Seagate, OCZ, AMD, Asrock, BeQuiet, Gigabyte stuff inside a 3R case
Atada, Panasonic and sandisk USB sticks + SD card
Xiaomi and sony phones
various noname earphones, chargers and dongles

I don't care, as long as it's cheap but high quality. My main rig even has an acer main board, but it does everything I need and it was free, so why shouldn't I use it?

>dell laptop
>no name earphones
>toshiba flash drive
>toshiba external hdd
>logitech mouse
>blu phone
To be fair i got the flash drive for free

>How much of a brand whore are you?
Not one. A brand doesn't mean anything. Anyone who buys products based on brand is being at least a little bias and delusional.

Clevo laptop
Audio-Technica headphone
Beyerdynamic headphone
Razer KBM
Philips plasma TV
Toshiba external HDD
WD external HDD
Hori fight stick
LG Nexus 5 phone
Apple iPad

There's preferring a brand because of implied quality and reputation and then there's brand loyalty.

Acer sucks... The vent thing melted on that plastic pos of a laptop.

And eventually soon after warranty expired, the gpu died.

I like a lot of Apple's stuff because of the integration and consistency between products. I also like Audio-Technica's headphones.

However, I'd still buy other products if they were better.

I'm not a brand whore by any means, but I tend to buy a lot of LG and Motorola for whatever reason.

> Moto x pure
> Moto 360
> LG ear buds

But i also have
> Samsung S4 as server
> Samsung fridge
> Dell laptop
> Sony tv
> JBL speakers

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

forgot Asus tablet

Oh, and pic related

Intel cpu
Evga psu
Gigabyte mobo
Nvidia gpu (gigabyte aib)
Hyperx rams
Cougar fans
Cougar case
Logitech keyboard
Logitech mice
Logitech gamepad

I think I might be a Logitech whore. Wasn't intentional, though.

Forgot some stuff

Moto x
Philips monitor
Philips headset

Why two fridges?

I'm kind of a brand whore to Asus Intel and Nvidia

All 3 of my desktop builds in the past 16 years have had asus motherboards(as well as now having asus monitor), intel cpus and various nvidia cards at dif points.
I feel so dirty.

I only buy my shit used or with a huge discount.
So no loyalty, just get the one that's decent and cheap.

Except for the phone, I'm using HTC One flagships since the first one came out. Because I make my employer pay for it.

And yes, I'm jewish.

Let's see
Moto g phone
Asus mono
Amd cpu
Amd gpu
Wd hdd
Hitachi hdd
G. Skill ram
Crucial ssd
Seasonic psu
Logitech mouse
Kbp keyboard
Steel series mousepad
Think pad
Intel cpu - server
Asrock mono - server
Seasonic psu - server
Hgst hdd. - server
Im loyal to Hitachi and seasonic, I'll admit it. I've had a Hitachi drive for 12 years and its still going strong, never had one fail yet. Same with seasonic, 6 years of abuse and never an issue

I am a complete whore for Microsoft ergonomic keyboards.. mouse is ok.

>HP monitor
>iiyama monitor

>Kana V2 mouse
>Samsung SSD
>Sony TV
>WD HDD
>Focusrite A/I
>JBL monitors
>AMD/Sapphire GPU
>Intel CPU
>Gigabyte MOBO
>LG phone

I don't give a fuck about brands, as long as the shit works. I rarely buy a new product blindly because it happens to be a certain brand.

>Beyerdynamic
>Razer
>WD
>Applel
its like you like low quality shit

>Mionix mouse

>Acer Monitor
>Seagate harddrives
>Samsung SSD
>Corsair Keyboard
>Sony DAC/AMP
>Intel CPU
>AMD GPU
>Asrock mobo
>Gskill RAM
>Lenovo Laptop
>Blue Microphone

I tend to stick with Dell, but work has a sizable account with them, and I get free shit from time to time.

That said, if something else is better for the same price, or as good for less, I'll sometimes go that route.

>Asus
>Corsair
>Sony
>Samsung
>Intel
>Nvidia

all low quality shit except for samsung and intel

Sony has the best cameras imo

let's see
>apple

>enermax

what the fuck is wrong with WD?

Would post a meme, but my WD HDD corrupted itself.

Not really a brand whore

I'm pretty the copper heatpipe on my acer laptop actually stopped working, I took it apart and redid the paste and it still gets up to 100C while idle

Not at all. I want quality products and brand is not a factor there, it only limits my options.

wow, some idiot actually bought a broadwell desktop cpu
you might be the only one

inb4 he'll suggest buying seagate instead
you can barely find any hgst drives anymore

>lenovo laptop

IBM

...

samsung phones, LG monitors. Gigabyte motherboards and video cards

HUAWEI4LYFE

Intel CPU
Evga gpu
Mushkin ram & ssd
Corsair case
Old deathadder mouse
Samsung laptop
Huawei Nexus 6p (previous 2 phones were LG)
2 identical Dell monitors
Samsung Plasma TV

I don't even compare to some. Just no crap from apple or HP is usually OK with me.

Had a time struggling without a gpu, plus it was cheaper than a 4790k
The Iris Pro graphics are surprisingly good on it

The highest OC i've achieved on it was 4,8ghz

So it wasn't a bad purchase at all

Intel CPU
Msi mobo
Samsung ssd
Nvidia gpu (msi)
Evga psu
2x Seagate hdd
Beyerdynamic headphones
Corsair kb
Zowie mouse
Asus monitor
Blue yeti mic
Sony z5 phone
Toshitba laptop

If it works it's good enough for me

msi sony corsair samsung bosch kenwood

and you just couldn't fucking wait a few months more for skylake?

EVGA and XFX are the only American video card makers. Everything else is China/Taiwan. (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac, etc.)

I know that the cards regardless are made in China, but it is nice to support some non-commies a little bit. Plus, the support of both of these companies is so much better than the Chinese ones.

yeah yeah
just like apple, amirite? :^)

Sometimes very, sometimes not at all.

>CPUs: I pick whatever performs better at the time. That happens to mean that I've only been using Intel CPUs in the past 5 years or so. But come Zen I'd be very happy to switch.
>PSUs: Complete brand loyalty. Seasonic every time.
>MB: Some brand loyalty. I usually pick whatever's cheap and meets my spec, but that's usually ASRock. Until they break on me I have no reason to switch.
>GPU: No brand loyalty. I've flipflopped between AMD and Nvidia, as well as different vendors of each. I usually pick whatever's best in a generation
>Case: Complete brand loyalty. Fractal Design every time
>Displays: No brand loyalty, mostly because every single manufacturer is so fucking terrible at making displays that I always try to go for the greener grass. It never works out.
>UPS: Complete brand loyalty, APC or bust (literally)
>Hard drive: No brand loyalty. I have a mix of HGST, Samsung, WD and Seagate drives.
>Peripherals: Some loyalty. Zowie mice every time, but that's mostly because they're the only decent mouse manufacturer (imo).

I think that in cases where I'm highly brand loyal, it's due to an overwhelming availability of choice (e.g. PSU, Case, HSF) where I don't and can't really quantify products on a case-by-case basis.

The fewer options there are for a product, the easier it is for me to evaluate everything and come to an objective conclusion.

Skylake igpu's turned out crap in the end and like i said, i was struggling with the gpu part

The 5775C was on sale, had baller graphics, overclocked and was just spot on choice i was looking for

Either i would've got a 4790k and continued the struggle or get a balance with the 5775C

Turns out the overclocking evened out the competition on that one, so i'm good

Intel CPU
Corsair case
Nvidia GPU
SeaSonic modular PSU
G skill RAM
Samsung SSD
Western Digital HDDs
Xiaomi phone
Coolermaster mech keyboard
Asus router, TP-LINK switch
Audio Technica headphones

Brand loyalty is stupid, just buy whatevers best in your budget.

That being said, I do tend to lean more towards gigabyte over other brands when picking up parts. They have excellent build quality and control quality from my own personal experiences with them.

Razer mouse
Razer keyboard
Razer mousepad
Razer laptop
Razer headset
Razer cables

I work for one of the big 3 companies, and even then I own Intel, AMD, and NVidia products.

Just buy whatever is on sale.

Will probably never get a monitor that isn't Dell or a CPU that isn't an Intel

There is thing called common sense. Just because something works out of the box on the release day doesn't mean it won't shoot itself two months later. Brand royalty is nothing but trust we as consumers put in product we are familiar with for being reliable.

I'm an asus whore and proud
I also love me some gigabyte graphics cards

AKG for headphones
Intel for processors
Intel for SSDs
ASRock for boards
MSI/NVIDIA for graphics
Sony for phones
Seasonic retail for PSU

I'm pretty stuck to my brands. I mean I won't buy their products if they happen to be shit, but other than that.

I only buy Sony TV's because Samdung and other korean/chink shit tv's use cheap garbage capacitors that burst after some years.

>brand whore
I use what I consider good based on reviews and experience with a brand

I will pay more for brands and models I have used in the past with a long life instead of experimenting with new brands unless the brand has been known to be deteriorating or heading in a different direction (see Lenovo)

Sony TV
Lenovo and Panasonic Laptops
Dell and NEC monitors (NEC isn't what it used to be)
ASUS mobo
Hitachi, Fujitsu storage

Maybe because he's American

The only duplicate brands I can think of are my 2 LG monitors and AMD CPU + GPU.
I do typically buy AMD parts because they have the best performance/price ratio.
Over the years, I have also bought a lot of Coolermaster cases, but that's mainly because the website i typically buy shit from has a lot of Coolermaster stuff.

Benq, Fujitsu Siemens and "supermarket brand" monitor
Supermaket keyboard
Logitech and Microsoft mices
SteelSeries mouse pad
Asus laptop and smartphone
AKG headphones

Focusrite sound card, sennheizer mics
Magnum drums with Evan and Aquarian drumheads, Zildjian cymbals, Mapex pedals, Gibraltar chair

Sony cameras (compact and SLT)
3 Tamron and one Minolta lenses
Manfrotto tripod
Amazon chink accessories

>brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands brands
brands brands brands brands brands
Brands

>intel for ssds
why

There's preference for a brand because it's fashionable.

I had a Gigabyte mobo and an MSI GPU in my previous rig set-up and I went with those for the current one.
Got a Logitech mouse and later a pad too.
That would be about it.
I prefer Adidas brand foot gear tho.
I honestly have a bit of an issue with brand loyalty. If I buy a product and it does exactly what I need it to do or exceeds my expectations I look too that brand for other products. I don't limit myself to that brand, it just gets to go first in the shopping methodology.

For instance, I really like the look and feel of vans shoes. They do everything I want them to do and last for an extended period of time. So when I decide to buy new shoes they get the first look-over.

I like Anker accessories, so when I need to buy a new chord I go to their page on Amazon first before shopping around.

It isn't "I must buy from this brand because I think representing them is cool" or whatever. It's just because they've established that they do what I want them to do, so why not look to them when you need something?

Very, very shit taste.

tbqh I wish there was a FOSS approved brand making GPUs, motherboards etc. Maybe smartphones too.

>I wish there was a FOSS approved brand making GPUs,
Why? Don't you like up-to-date gear?

element TV
Asus, Acer monitor
Rosewill case
MSI motherboard
Intel CPU
Samsung SSD
WD, Seagate HDD
EVGA PSU
Panasonic, Phillips headphones
Logitech keyboard
Reddragon mouse
Canon printer
2 Motorolla phones

I'm not a brand whore at all I guess, but I do like the phones from Motorolla.

Corsair.
Logitech.

Not sure why so many cucks here hate them. Some of their products are pretty stupid, but most are perfectly fine.

libreboot.org/docs/hcl/

>sizes all combined

Into the trash it goes!

Brand loyalty is for the ultimate cucks

Since I've never been screwed over by them before on product or customer service, I always search first on them before checking the competition. (As a result, about 25% of my computer stuff is Dell)

Sony Bravia
Sony PS4
Sony surround sound

I'm a bit if a Sony whore.. but

Asus laptop
Motorola phone
Dell server
QNAP NAS
Cisco Router/Switch

I fuking love BenQ monitors. They are the only ones that don't flicker in my eyes.

I have a lot of Sonys, but my heart belongs to IBM.

>want to buy a secondary AOC monitor
>have DELL monitor as primary
>my autism triggers me to have different brand monitors

Sony and Samsung.

Brands I like and will stick to personally for certain things:
>Dell - Computer monitors (Samsung makes the panels)
>Corsair - RAM / PSU / Case
>Logitech - Mouse / Speakers
>Razer - Keyboard only
>Steelseries - Mouse mat
>Asus - Mobo / Sound Card
>EVGA - Graphics card (always nvidia) / PSU
>Creative - Sound card / Speakers
>Western Digital - Hard Drives
>Samsung - SSD
>Audio-Technica - Headphones
>Sennheiser - Headphones
>CoolerMaster - Case

Loyal to Dell for monitors.
Loyal to SanDisk and PNY for portable storage.
Loyal to Wacom for graphics tablets.
Loyal to Logitech for PC Pheriphrials
Loyal to google for smartphones
Loyal to WD for hard disks
Loyal to Samsung for SSDs
Loyal to Debian GNU/Linux for my OS
Loyal to thinkpenguin for wifi adapters

intel cpu
corsair case
corsair cooler
Func-9 mechanical keyboard and mouse (they were 50% off on newegg and had decent reviews)
Dell monitor
ASUS mobo
Kingston ram
samsung ssd
evga power supply
Sennheiser headphone

brand loyalty is pretty useless for hardware because every company has dumb shit which should be avoided. I am fond of t420s and x220s and will most likely buy another if my current one fails

I just buy ones that have the biggest numbers in my price range regardless of brand.

I'm a bit of a brand whore for apple laptops and phones; and HP workstations.

Laptop: Apple
Desktop: HP Z Workstations
Phone: Apple
GPU: no preference; hate both big manufacturers.
Hard disks: I don't care I have a minor preference for Seagate.
Mice I like and hate Logitech.
Headphones; I have models from Audio-technica, Bose, Beats, Koss and Sennheiser
Keyboards: no preference
Monitors: always Dell.
Cola: I like Coke and Pepsi.

With computer hardware I'm a pretty big one. When it comes to my photo kit I have lots of Yongnuo and Meike shit

Oh and
Dell monitor
Fractal Design Case
San Ace fans
ASUS mobo
XFX video card
Corsair PSU
Crucial RAM
Samsung SSDs
Well I suppose my cooling isn't actually the top brand. It's a kit from XSPC
AT-M50x headphones
Logitech mouse
Steelseries mouse pad
Oh and my keyboard is just a Lenovo rubber dome
