Is she finally kill?
IT'S OVER GUYS, AMD IS FINISHED AND BANKRUPT!
>people that do not understand basic numbers
>480 matches 1060 in most benchmarks while absolutely skullfucking it in DX12
>480 is only going to get better with time
AMDFAGS BTFO
I DONT FUCKING UNDERSTAND
ARE RETAILERS BRIBED BY NVIDIA TO JACK UP PRICES OF AMD CARDS?
$306 - Rx480 Reference
$276 - Zotac 1060
I guess its an easy Nvidia choice for me
At 1080p, 1060 wins:
Hitman by 7.9%
Tomb Raider by 22%
480 wins:
Ashes by 4.9%
Total War by 0.3%
1060 wins by 6% on average. Pretty good considering 3 of the 4 games are AMD sponsored.
> Using a piece of technology to game
How do these perform in a wrok based scenario? Which is better for graphical rendering?
Nice meme, it's time for you to press F lad.
>AMD gimp game
>relevant
...
These are consumer cards, retard
>show stutter charts for 480
It's like you're sneakily an nvidiashill
Another tripfag to add to the filter list, thank you.
>mfw dx12
Sounds like youre on the wrong board friend :^)
>DX12
>Vulkan
>not relevant
You seemed to ignore the important aspects of paying your respects.
>burnt mobos and laughable frametimes
Oh silly Amdumbs stop shilling your inferior garbage at every price point.
Source? Also can you give source on the thousands of burnt motherboards GTX 960 graphics cards have cause?
>posting this old as shitfuck fud
>Not knowing the difference between voltage spikes and overcurrenting.
Voltage spikes don' burn mobos, over the rating constant current going through the PCI-E slot creates heat and ultimately destroys motherboards. Don't OC your reference cards unless you're waiting for a toasted mobo.
I love you AMD, please don't die!
>average 50 watts
>average 80 watts
>Which one will create enough heat to burn down a 75 w rated slot?
Hmmm I wonder.
Source: my ass
Why can't you people grasp that passing that rating wont produce smoke and fire?
>my ass
>the literal graphs show the average
>2016 still pretending AMD doesn't have an overcurrenting problem when they literally released a driver fix to fix the non-problem
kys pajeet
it's a fucking line graph. everything is clearly labeled.
if you're not seeing the 1060 with constant lower framerates, huge dips below 60fps, and just generally losing hard, you are a fucking idiot.
>Won't produce smoke and fire?
>It's past the rating at stock speeds
>There will be retards who buy two and overclock
Just wait till it happens. It's coming soon.
the PCIe spec is 75w, that's not what the slots are rated for, not even close. even cheap asrock mobos can handle much, much more than that. and the problem is FUD to begin with.
I'd tell you to find another angle but there is none. the 1060 is a gimped half-assed piece of shit which is to be expected from nvidia.
the PCI-E spec is 5.5A on the 12V rail = 66w. AMD is going over 6A and up to 9A on overclock.
Enjoy your melted Mobo.
I said this before.
Do you think the 75W gets dissipated as heat on the slot?
Not pcie spec but SIG spec, learn the difference.
>amdrones pretend that pcie slot deaths didn't happen
community.amd.com
>gets dissipated as heat on the slot
Who knows? I know there aren't any fans on the slot for sure.
Neither. Nvidia still has a large advantage because of MUH CUDA CORES tho.
Still, nothing compared to real workstation hardware.
>learn the difference
PCI SIG spec for the PCI-E slot if you're going to be a pedant.
>implying anyone actually reported a burnt motherboard
Nice meme! Now if you could only provide many sources/hard evidence.. lmao
So uhm, is buying a 1070 still worth it or will AMD release something better in the next couple weeks?
Vulkan is literally irrelevant.
See:
see
Cue pretending that it's not a common issue
>burnt 3 of his pci-e slots :3 must not be real !
What is that supposed to tell me? How do you know that Vulkan will be relevant immediately? And how long would I have to wait for AMD to bring something better than the 480? Because I sure as hell am not gonna get a Fury X.
Vulkan will never be relevant.
Vega will come out in October at the earliest.
1060 is pretty competitive with 480 even with DX12 (see ). There is no AMD domination.
>m-muh hitman
>m-muh ashes oft shillgularity
Why are AMD so desperate about these games? Literally nobody plays AoS and you can beat hitman in under 4 hours.
i really really wanted to get the 480, but i will get 1060, because it runs cooler, is less noisy and consumes less power, dont really care for future proofing and DX12, i want to play witcher 3 damn it
Realistically, DX12 won't be any relevant until about 2019/20. Vulkan probably never will (mantle was worth shit as well).
There are 50 million PS4's floating around, game devs aren't simply going to chuck away that install base to appease some amdumbs.
Xbone is already basically running on DX12 anyway and getting nowhere. The new APIs are for the next generation of consoles. So enjoy waiting for Q4 2017 for any large scale adoption.
Literally any person could jump on the AMD forums and make these claims. Shit source, get something professional you god damn faggot.
Nothing is good enough for drones.
Something professional? Obviously paid off by nvidia.
81 fps out of my gpu, thatll do me. So you say my cards dead?
>buy amd rx 480 8gb reference card
>87C after 20 minutes in watch dogs
is this dangerous?
feels good to be 100% amd though. Nvidia can go suck a dick, their marketing campaigns is on the same level as intel
>being loyal to companies
What a cuck.
use an aftermarket programms like msi afterburner,
I had the same thing with my 1080 blower card.
Used msi and now its fine, you can adjust the fan speeds and settings etc
Maybe at 720p and low settings lmao
Im getting Nvidia for reliability from the get go, with so much Jap games coming out of the market. AMD just got poor compatibility with them sadly
I own a 1080. dont do 720p poorfag
>being a biased cuck
You're the reason this site is shit.
...
>he thinks his benchmark actually matter
fuck off Sup Forums tards that do not understand how a corporation goes bankrupt
DELET THIS
you keep playing games on those shitty settings with low fps user
>Nintendo supporting Vulkan
>Playstation devs already using Mantle
>Google supporting Vulkan
>EA supporting Vulkan
>Unreal supporting Vulkan
>Unity supporting Vulkan
>Valve supporting Vulkan
>id supporting Vulkan
By device volume, Vulkan will have majority platform share in two years. It will start by becoming the standard for mobile gaming and consoles, then will end up slowly winning against DX12. You really think we're going to be on DX11 and OpenGL for another 10 years? It's the best option for mobile and console in the years to come, and developers are aware of that.
Realistically what we're going to see is Microsoft being a bunch of whiny jackasses and choose to shill DX12 on the new Xbox, and game developers are just going to make their games for Vulkan/DX12 to get compatibility with the entire PC market and consoles. Many devs are already doing OpenGL+DX11 support, why not change to Vulkan+DX12 to remain relevant?
conclusion buy an RX 480 if u only have Doom in ur Library.
else get gtx 1060
AMD subhumans should be gunned down on the street like fucking degenerates they're.
>Implying any modern game besides Doom is worth playing
Well here (Spain) I am hoping the RX480 non-reference releases releases closer to the msrp prices because a decent 1060 is €360 which is a fucking joke given that a decent 1070 is "only" €465.
Amd more like RMA
>IT'S OVER GUYS, AMD IS FINISHED AND BANKRUPT!
real subtle
i never understood this meme. Nvidia is more locked down so wouldn't that have a smaller library of compatible games that come out?
>1060 wins by 6% on average. Pretty good considering 3 of the 4 games are AMD sponsored.
6% gain for a $100 more card is not good by any means.
You guys forgot quickly that nvidia is still cheating in AOTS.
I fully understand how a company goes bankrupt
It's not by releasing extremely successful products that shit on the competition like the RX 480
And even if AMD was as bad as you try to convince yourself they are, they still have other sources of revenue and huge contracts to keep them afloat.
Back to Sup Forums now summerfag
>1060
$250
>8GB 480
$240
>november 2015
>successful products
They haven't for a few years.
>AOTS
plz die
>sold out everywhere
holy shit delude yourself some more
>supporting outdated tech that cant into dx12/vulkan without cheating
Having supply issues doesn't denote success.
>nvidia cards sell out
>wow, they probably only had like 2 cards in stock anyway
>amd cards sell out
>MOST SUCCESSFUL CARD EVER
Love this doublethink.
>replying to nvidiatripgoy nr.1
kys
1060
>5-10% more performance in Dx 11 titles (depending on what your favorite shill has said)
>120w tdp
Rx 480
>5-45% in Vulkan Dx 12 titles (depending on what your favorite shill has said)
>150w tdp
prices are pretty much equivalent. But I would say that the Rx 480 gonna stabilize at a lower base point than the 1060 in the near future, 2-3 months down the line.
I'll go with the rx 480. I expect the custom cards to be at a good price point by late August.
>goes by tdp instead of actual power consumption
>thinks rx 480 performs better in dx12 on average (see )
>AOTS
who
the fuck
cares
if Adored is my fav AMD shill than the 45% is a valid number. If my fav NV shill is TH's than it's probably -67%
I don't care about your anonymous shilling. I like professional level shilling.
While the DX12 numbers may vary, the power consumption is pretty consistent.
Every single site that measures the power directly from the graphics card finds that RX 480 draws 160-170W on average in games, while 1060's average power draw doesn't exceed its TDP (at stock in video games).

This is not shilling, but the truth.
where did i say it goes bankrupt. And doing poorly. I was simply pointing out that muh benchmarks irrelevant when what determine the end of company is it's which all Sup Forums tard forget and spout benchmarks
>45%
It's 45% increase over the gid awful opengl amd drivers. In reality the shift from dx11 to 12 on amd hardware nets about a 10-15% increase as confirmed by the ashes of singularity dev and the hitman dev.
Amds dx11 drivers are seriously lacking but they're godlike compared to their opengl drivers.
AMD will just never win, haha. The Geforce® 1060 is simply the best value choice for those who play it the way it's meant to be played™. Nothing even comes close! With NVIDIA GeForce Experience™, I can enjoy great features such as Shadowplay to record my gaming footage and show off my skills to others with ease. Order your's today, you won't regret it!
nvidiot shill.txt
Shadowplay is brilliant though. I don't know why amd fanboys hate it so much. Pretty much every youtuber that isn't biased towards either company says shadowplay is brilliant for what it offers. I personally love using it because it means I don't have to deal with a shitty obs studio interface and the shadowplay interface is just so much easier to navigate.
>implying the 480 has the same yields as a die 50% larger than it
kys.
>Built on the same 16nm FinFET process as its Pascal brethren, GP106 is a 4.4 billion transistor part with a die size of just 200mm2.
>So far we know there will be at least two GPUs based on the Polaris 10 die, the biggest of which is the 2304 Steam Processor-enabled Radeon RX 480. The die measures just 232mm2.
APOLOGIZE
Good riddance. AMD is such an awful company.
>mfw I've invested in amd stocks and if I sell them now I can buy a GTX 1060 for free
>buy something for free
Scandihoovian economics, everyone
Amadaposting is cancer.
>obviously talking about GP104
are you fucking retarded?
Difference:
Nvidia has yield issues
AMD does not
Supply of AMD cards is greater than nvidia, but are still selling like hotcakes.
And the fact the 8GB 480 was sold as 4GB 480's for $200 is evidence that AMD can cut prices by quite a bit and still make a profit on the 480. I fully expect this to happen once AMD stops selling out of stock - they'll let the AIB's get in on the gravy train, and then once it looks like the initial rush is dying down they'll drop prices by $40 and completely BTFO nvidia's 1060 offering, which will likely still be unavailable and out of stock except at scalper prices.
It'll literally be a choice of $200 8GB 480 vs $400 6GB 1060.
Everything we've been seeing the past couple weeks has been an incredible amount of nvidia shilling because they know they got fucked in the ass by AMD on this one and went all out on marketing jew tactics out of desperation.
>Nvidia has yield issues
>AMD does not
Now you're engaging in circular reasoning to explain your doublethink.
Uhh you are actually retarded.
The 8GB 480 is $240 and the 6GB 1060 is $250
