Nobody is "just" gonna give you an invite and buying one is also a waste of time. Take the What.cd interview and get a WCD account. Once you rank up a lil' bit you'll be able to get into most of the good trackers out there, including PTP and eventually BTN.

Yeah but Elite to TM is a big step, you might wanna wait... I have a feeling LB06 is gonna move recruitment back to elite by the end of the year. Leveling up BTN is sooo much easier but I'm not sure if HDB ever recruited from there apart from that 1 time (only for 24 hours, lol)

I feel you, dawg... HDB was the last tracker I joined and the hardest one for sure. If you cannot wait and cannot try the BiB route then use KG, CG and other specialized trackers to upload obscure content. There's no point in trying to beat other people for scene releases unless you have a nice automated script and a really fast seedbox... might as well grab a bunch of DVDs and encode them yourself with handbrake or something. The only other way to get on HDB (not official) would be to show that you have really amazing encoding skills or have access to a lot of web-dl or hdtv caps... I know few people who have been recruited unofficially from PTP and AHD because they showed good encoding skills.

Oh, so you don't have a BiB account yet? You could get one by faking an overdrive account like you said or by showing you have access to a library or some other big source of content. Only problem is that if you join now then it's gonna take you 150+ weeks to get that sweet sweet HDB account. So you might as well just wait on PTP

WCD is the absolute best music tracker but they also have quite a few e-books and apps. You don't have to "pretend" to be anything but if you really think WCD has nothing interesting for you then there are other ways to get started, WCD is just the easiest one and the one with the highest success rate.
