>Kickass is dying >FBI is mad >Dude arrested >we need new site >decided by Sup Forums to user ZeroNet >very well made and simple to use Zeronet.io
How to run it: 1. unzip it 2. run main file in it 3. go into the other files and look for the python.exe files 4. run them 5. wait for your browser to notice it 6. get on
tinyurl com/zerotorrents if you have it installed, bam
is this new? i find hard to believe this is the first project of its kind
Hudson Rodriguez
The concept isn't new by any means, meshnet type distribution and the like have been theorized (and technically possible) for decades.
It runs pretty well for what it is, from what I can see, and seems to have TOR integration if that's your thing.
Charles Gonzalez
It's not but it's more like a branch of FreeNet and Tor. but a little faster. came out last year en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZeroNet
Cooper Wright
seems like a lot of work
Lucas Cook
It works by just opening the batch file here, I have no idea why you're making it look more elaborate..
Nathaniel Smith
>2. run main file in it >3. go into the other files and look for the python.exe files >4. run them >5. wait for your browser to notice it >6. get on
Just click the zeronet.cmd batch file you retard
Jaxson Robinson
Is this Sup Forums approved now?
Charles Edwards
i visited some sites, and its kinda shitty it doesnt update fast enough
Jack Johnson
This is Sup Forums where installing a linux is nothing and you're calling this simple process hard to do...
maybe my computer is just mega shit it is 8 years old after all
We were talking about it in the kickass thread.
I think cause there's not enough users.
Christopher Anderson
Not really but that guy sure is shilling it as such
Jaxson Jenkins
I'm just trying to be useful for Sup Forums :(
Carson Richardson
I'm the guy who suggested using ZeroNet in the first place, and I'm actually kinda surprised that this guy is so passionate about it.
Joshua Jenkins
Drop the namefagging and shout Gentoo from the rooftops and you'll fit right in.
Ian Clark
>Zeronet.io >Open source >Linux compatible Count me in, user :)
Joseph Nguyen
He is just a namefagging attention whore, should have known he isnt even original
Samuel James
how is this not going to turn into a pizza trading network?
Ryan Smith
nah. I'm not THAT autistic.
>being useful >STOP DOING THINGS I DON'T LIKE You realize the amt of people talking in each thread who samfags is about the same but they don't have a name. But if you could see their IPs or if they carried a name, would you say the same thing?
Ethan Kelly
Can someone explain the principle how this works?
Parker Bailey
I was honestly wondering this too.
Dylan Hughes
Doesn't change the fact that you're namefagging. Look at the amount of derailment in this thread already because of your desire for attention.
Mason Mitchell
Since when is installing Linux distro something? In 90% cases it's just Next>Next>Next>Next>Finish.
Adam Gray
Because my attention whoring? You're the only faggot pointing it out No one else gives a fucking shit >namefagging you're literally the only retard who fucking cares.
that's good!
Noah Torres
yeah i dont see this being usefull, it takes too long to update
Nathan Peterson
Actually there's three people talking to you about it, but you're too new to be able to spot different anons. It takes practice, I know, chillout
In any case let's all drop the shit and talk about another decentralized content service.
Luis Murphy
Looking at the website (haven't downloaded it, yet), it seems it works in almost the same way torrents do.
Let's say you want to make a site. You get it out there, people start connecting to it, and they help you with the hosting, so even if you go down, the site is still alive.
There's a thing called ZeroID on there, which I guess assures nobody else steals your admin rights.

Nathan Scott
>he was using kat with all those DMCA take-downs up the wazoo wew
Kayden Bailey
it sayas you can message the people of the sites, maybe cause there's so little users at the moment, there's no need for them? The torrent sites there have most up to date things, it just takes a moment. Goto the side bar there on the right hand, pull it out and look down at the bottom where it says 10MB and change it to a larger size, I set mine to 100MB seem to help
>new nah You can't always tell the difference between anons Maybe you know cause you're one of them, but I don't know that. It's not like I hear your voice or see your face. You can't always tell the difference between posters.
Oliver Thompson
Can I ask you something?
Are you a native english speaker? Your english seems kinda off..
Zachary Green
that's how you know it's safe. those guys have a lot to loose.
Blake Thompson
so am i hosting the entire site on my computer or just a chunk, does this mean that as it grows i will eventually be hosting something ridiculous?
Tyler Brooks
Explain how I'm off. It's also 7am here, i shouldn't be awake honestly.

Now where is the KAT replica?
Justin Reed
He talks in colloquialism, which tells me he's either very advanced or a native speaker.
When you can seamlessly type English as if you were speaking it to show effect, pause, things of that nature you're emulating natural speech/thought cadence. It takes good mastery to reach that level.
Elijah Hall
If done properly, not really. You won't be hosting the files themselves, you'll be hosting magnet links and a part of the website. I doubt that will take a lot of space.

Oh..
I'm ESL and I guess I'm not used to seeing this manner of speech. When reading his post, it almost seems like he's talking very quickly or something.
Bentley Hernandez
Nothing more than what you allow like on freenet. Where you basically allow a certain amt. Which is why some sites load faster than others due to the amt of people on that site hosting it and so on.
> ????
>When you can seamlessly type English as if you were speaking it to show effect, pause, things of that nature you're emulating natural speech/thought cadence. It takes good mastery to reach that level. This is something new, do I really?
I do that commonly. Sorry user.

No
post screenshot and/or try other zeronet sites
Noah Flores
You don't need tor FYI
Wyatt Evans
You don't necessarily need Tor.
But click on it, what exactly is the error message?
Gabriel Green
>127.0.0.1:43110/danknet.bit/?/dank/ nah, you don't need tor but it could be useful. I've not seen a reason to need tor with it. I guess added security?
Austin Cruz
cool. give me more links to try then. already saved the movies one. gonna be really useful.

Going to use 'namef**' here as I want my perspective to carry across a professional level of reddit-sysadmin/github community/ Sup Forums's-Sup Forums.
Before I read into ZeroNet I want to establish a good working set of ideals for these projects. These should be kept in mind when developing them. I find the problem with TOR, Kickass, and general pirating to be that there is no way to invite everyone in to a sharing/privacy platform, and then say: okay. This guy is with the wrong party(FBI, CIA, NSA, Gov't body, etc.) and then boot them out.
This platform needs to be: 1. user friendly--- the easier it is, the wider variety will use it and contribute. Even if a non-tech uses it, they can advocate it to some one capable of contributing to the project that is capable but hasn't heard of it yet. It should be easy to use (separate tech menus from regular menus, current industry's 'app-like' consumer menus) 2. There needs to be anonymity full stack, that can be traded to another user with evidence that a user/node has become corrupt. Ideally, probably picture evidence that also captures packet/tech evidence if available, then posts to a community forum and then a moderator checks and marks a node/user as 'red' meaning infected. This way users can use a node/user at their own risk.
As I am reading some of Glitchiebyte's posts I can tell that zeronet is not this easy yet, and therego cannot become a dominant platform.
A project of this scope needs to be full-stack with dedicated hosting hardware nodes in neutral countries that have a hard time or at least take 3 months to evict a hosting service of full anonymity. In using your name, you have in partial announced your identity if you have ever used this name on another digital service. This means that if someone wants to contact you directly you are all that more susceptible to corrupting the platform at a host level.
is there a spanish/italian/portugese/german/french one I don't speak English at all, only type/read
Christian Ward
He don't kno! HOHOHO! Huge ass private Hungarian tracker. Tell yo mom I have invites ;)

so, basically it's a website environment unto itself. it is peer to peer. it is encrypted. cool.
i just want to know other alternatives, if any. i want to try them all and then choose the best.
Austin Robinson
>using private trackers at all
I'd rather use the tons of public tracker alternatives rather than deal with all that private tracker wankery
