KAT IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

> FEDS SEIZE KICKASSTORRENTS DOMAINS, ARREST OWNER

The U.S. Government has arrested the alleged owner of KickassTorrents, the world's largest torrent site. The 30-year-old Ukrainian was arrested in Poland today and is charged with criminal copyright infringement and money laundering. In addition, a federal court in Chicago has ordered the seizure of several KAT domain names.

Empire of KickassTorrents (KAT) has finally ended after U.S. authorities announced the arrest of the site’s alleged owner. The 30-year-old Artem Vaulin, from Ukraine, was arrested today in Poland from where the United States has requested his extradition.

In a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, the owner is charged with conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and two counts of criminal copyright infringement.

The complaint further reveals that the feds posed as an advertiser, which revealed a bank account associated with the site. It also shows that Apple handed over personal details of Vaulin after the investigator cross-referenced an IP-address used for an iTunes transaction with an IP-address that was used to login to KAT’s Facebook account.

It also shows that Apple handed over personal details of Vaulin after the investigator cross-referenced an IP-address used for an iTunes transaction.

Commenting on the announcement, Assistant Attorney General Caldwell said that KickassTorrents helped to distribute over $1 billion in pirated files.

“Vaulin is charged with running today’s most visited illegal file-sharing website, responsible for unlawfully distributing well over $1 billion of copyrighted materials.”

“In an effort to evade law enforcement, Vaulin allegedly relied on servers located in countries around the world and moved his domains due to repeated seizures and civil lawsuits. His arrest in Poland, however, demonstrates again that cybercriminals can run, but they cannot hide from justice.”

>guy lives in Ukraine
>creates a torrents site, since it's legal in his coutnry
>FBI raids his ass, while he's in Poland

Why is this allowed?

You want Poland to fight US for this little guy ?
Just forget it.
Not worth risking embargo and trade blockade.

The irony being that KAT complied with DMCA all the fucking time

Why is US domestic law enforcement allowed to arrest innocent people in other countries?

That's like Russian FSB coming to your house and arresting you because you talked shit about Putin on the internet.

KAT was more like an organised conspiracy to talk shit about putin on the internet. If you did that you might find some polonium in your coffee

The main point is that it's not illegal in his home country, so he committed no crime.

Good, break the law, face the time. Pay for software you parasites.

...

"Ok"

yeah. there are a few alternative domain names that load it up just fine....are these just mirrors? so no new torrents?

Yes, but it's not crime either if US (or company in US) suddenly reduce trade with his home country.

They can't they are supporting the current regime in the ongoing civil war.
Once they reduce the trade the rebels will steamroll the whole thing.

I wonder who could be behind this.
:V)
> 1 billion in pirated files
Bullshit. How did they arrive at that figure?

> America World Police
> Land of the free (tm)
FUCKING BURGERS REEEEEEEEE
Stop helping your overlords getting more shekels.

It isn't a crime in Poland and I do think the US is over extending itself constantly in regards to how it handles Piracy.
I think you all know these cases go nowhere and the US is just flexing its big boy muscles.

He was stupid enough to briefly host KAT in Chicago at one point, which is why the complaint was filed in US District Court in Chicago and why they want him extradited and judged under US law.

Might makes right, how old are you?

Meanwhile at Apple,
>Terrorist
>No, we won't disclose privacy

>Shekel making company
>Sure, here's the data

So what are people gonna use now, that pbay and kat are down for good?

Law is a thing, you know.

This is precisely why they were able to arrest him how they did.
Find me a country that will not request another countries citizen to stand trial for a crime committed in said country.
Even the US lets other countries capture fugitives that come here.

>government caught pirating half a billion worth of software.
>Gets KAT to appease the jews

Nope.
I think it happen before, a UK student was successfully extradited to US for linking pirate content.
Also, megaupload Kim Dotcom caught in NZ but still on trial to extradite to US.

He should have stepped up his game and made it a nice 6 billion to piss off the j*ws.

Is sumotorrent.sx/ legit?
It was in the past but the seed & leecher data looks faked as fuck.

DEMONOID SHALL RISE AGAIN

>“I observed […] that they were all running the same Linux Gentoo operating system, and that they contained files with user information, SSH access logs, and other information, including a file titled ‘passwd’ located in the ‘etc’ directory,” the HSI agent writes.

Top kek.

>KAT IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you based Apple

Literally ZeroNet or pay to torrent like a ptg cuck

>downloaded hours and hours of porn because i suspected something fucked was going to happen to torrent sites/ISP crackdowns
>it actually happens
*fap* *fap* *fap*

That fookin retard hosted a KAT server in US

>so no new torrents?

Yup, no fucking way I am trusting the mirrors to use my credentials for uploading any new stuff there

>Why is US domestic law enforcement allowed to arrest innocent people in other countries?
Because so much of the Internet's infrastructure is in America, so even if he never set foot there, he still broke laws there and can be prosecuted for it.

> mfw porn streaming master race once again proven right
How do you like your porn, torrent fags? Oh wait, YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT ANYMORE LMAO

How did he not get caught earlier?

Was he always just sending money straight into a bank account with his name? What the fuck.

He was not under US jurisdiction before that server in US I think

>At a point in the investigation, Mr Der-Yeghiayan worked out the Apple-run email address [email protected] belonged to Artem Vaulin.
>That email address was the linchpin in the case:
> - The username "tirm" was known as the administrator of KAT
> - Investigators discovered the email had made a purchase on iTunes using the IP address 109.86.226.203

> - They found emails from known KAT domains in the email inbox
> - They found bug reports referencing the KAT website and feature requests, which were tasked to "Artem Vaulin"
> - The investigators found emails from KAT employees asking what to do about a copyright takedown request, with the subject line being: Ignore? The reply from Mr Vaulin was "of course"
> - They also found a series of test emails from [email protected] and [email protected] to the [email protected] account

Well done Facebook, well done Apple, well done Google.
Maybe that will teach people to not buy into the retarded social media and cloud bullshit.

Only criminals fear them. Are you a criminal, user?

We warned you

According to US law, yes.

>meanwhile us navy is sued for piracy

*Privateering.

They were under government mandate, after all.

Exactly. I can't wait to live in a world free of digital piracy.

the fuck do I use now? my meager wooden rubles not enough for netflix/crunchyroll and steam i'd have nothing to eat

The thing with Poland is that many intelectualy properties don't have legal representatives here, so you are free to download movies which are not distributed here, same goes for music that is not sold in shops (i.e. managed by Zaiks) or even games. Even sites like Chomikuj made a deal with certain companies to additionaly sell legal stuff, so they can continue to operate.

this is a good example of someone sucking at opsec

intelectual*

Nigga you shouldn't be asking this anymore

Poland is a nation of criminals, I wish hitler won the war.

Its shit right now

Hitler was a criminal too, though.

Thanks for your valuable opinion.

So it is really the end this time?
I mean no just for kat but for everything.
If the USA has such long reach who will risk setting up a site like kat again.

>I am butt devastated.
>Used to download GB of comics weekly.
>Where will (- Nem -) group release now.
>We truly live in the dark age now.

literally dozens of alternatives right now

I am pretty sure people will start hosting it from best korea if they have to now

> break the law
But he didn't. It was perfectly legal in the country in which he lived.

Why did nobody thought about this yet?

A Ukrainian in Poland arrested by the feds. Since when is Poland part of the U.S.?

Kidnapping of a citizin by a foreign government. Sounds like an act of war to me.

like what?

He operated his server in a country where it wasn't legal. How is such a simple concept foreign to you?

That faget hosted a server in US soil hence coming under US jurisdiction

See Yeah, I know. How long was it operation in Chicago for?

yay

google filename you want you will find several torrent/DDL sites

He got caught because he paid for some music on iTunes.

If that ain't the most ironic thing you hear this year, I'll be damned

No he wasn't

Then how'd he end up in jail?

it's US dude, the country with the special needs

Hitler dindu nuffin.

And yet, mactards still think Apple cares about their privacy. They get proven wrong time and time again, yet they still open their ass wide for more fuckings.

He also broke US and international law. If poland and ukraine wants to help criminals fuck over corporations and content creators, they're part of the problem.

yeah, right, at least 15 first links will be malware ridden pits of horrors

meant for
woops

is FBI going to hunt down anime sites next? I'm scared.

What the alternative now?

I wanted to get a few recent movies

rarbg

What this faggot is trying to say is that copyright infrigement in Poland is a matter of civil, not criminal law. That said, Vaulin was wanted by the US for allegedly commiting criminal acts (including money laundering) in the US because of the Chicago server.

He was not arrested by the feds, for fucks sake. He was arrested by the Polish police after the US contacted Polish General Prosecutor's Office saying: "hey, there's this guy that commited a crime in the US, can we have him for trial please?". What happens next is Burgers need to file for his extradition to which Polish court can either agree or not. The court, however, will only look into whether there's any legal ground for the extradition itself, not into whether the charges he faces under US law have any ground.

Fuck no.

FBI cares about what is valuable to the American economy or foreign relations. Anime is basically worthless to the economy and isn't represented by major American corporations, and Japan does not care about it, because anime makes for great soft power, pirated or not.

>appear to be female
That's a dude.

I regret asking
good thing I had Outpost up and running
You didn't need to call me a faggot, but thanks for the clarification.

Private trackers.

Mirror as of a day ago, all torrents are at least a day old, the torrent pages aren't accessible.

>I regret asking

why? it's mostly the same shit

Those will be next after public trackers are a thing of the past.

Yeah but they all have some retarded rules so in the end you end up not downloading anything at all because your account will be locked for some retarded shit so fuck that

>You didn't need to call me a faggot
Where do you think we are?

fuck off

What kind of question is this? If you're unable to address somebody without adding an unwarranted insult then it's your problem, not mine. Even Sup Forums isn't this aggressive.

Pizda.

They can get taken down just as easily, since the feds were pretending to be an ad agency. They can get infiltrated and taken down quite easily, they're next in line after public trackers.

keep believing this, it keeps morons like you out
this is why standards are a good thing—any standard immediately forces the expression of disparity between the niggers of society and us normal people

On that note, does anyone know what the fuck happened to it-ebooks.info? The site is down and the twitter is silent.

>keep believing this, it keeps morons like you out
I don't think you understand what private trackers means then. Seems like you never used one.

>On that note, does anyone know what the fuck happened to it-ebooks.info? The site is down and the twitter is silent.

>tfw want to get latest Bakker's book Great Ordeal but literally can't find anywhere

would also like to know

funny enough google still works

Their size means they're not a particularly attractive target.

do I need a friend to get into one of those? cos i ain't got any friends

Fiction is useless, only tech books are worth reading, because they give you knowledge, I don't see how anyone can waste their time reading fiction in the year 2016.
