Fuck me why did I get a 480?

Why would you get the RX470? It's worse than GTX950 and draws more power...

It's a shill. Be careful, you're in Sup Forums
Because its amd and amd is inherently shit.
You can't even argue with it, I can guarantee you if you were to combine all the power of amd's cards, they wouldn't even cone close to a low end Nvidia card that was released 10 or so years back, it's just simple math.
99% likely it is the same PCB, same layout, same everything except the binned down chip.
Am I supposed to be surprised? Shits obvious
>110w tdp
Lol physics dictates at the same clocks it's going to be about 135w real draw compared to full P10's 160, accounting for lower VRAM speed
Looks that way except missing some chokes?
Why do they even bother to make them with that shitty cooler? Fucking hell, just take the decent one you made for the rx 480 and slap it on that thing.
it's the same cooler but different stickers.
if you care about stickers, make your own.
the rx470 is told to hit the 2.8 times performance per watt sweetspot, i doubt it will consume more than the 950 while performing like a 970 ref on aib cards for an even lower price point when drivers are matured
>comes with same cooling
Implying that's a good thing
>480 can barely beat a 970
>claims a 470 can beat a 970 too
Jesus Christ almighty you're one autistic faggot
>lower performance than a RX480/GTX970 with ~110W TDP.
So basically a GTX 960?
I'm supposed to be impressed with this?
Because you couldnt afford a nice shiny 1080
yes goy.
because 470s are not out while add in 480s have started shipping?
Actually I can but I'm waiting on the 1080 Ti or Vega. I needed something in the meantime to use in my HTPC later and this seems like a better fit for that.
you'd be pretty unwise to drop your bank on a gddr5 card when both companies are going high end HBM2 over the new year.
In dx12 and vulkan both cards surpass the 780 and 970.
>i play games that don't care about new graphical innovations
Pretty much. And the 980 turned out to be a pretty poor value once the Ti came out.
Because of muh async compute
>when both companies are going high end HBM2 over the new year
The new Titan is confirmed to be using GDDR5X, so none of NVIDIA's consumer cards will be using HBM2 this generation.
It's up to Vega, since it will allegedly use 16gb of it, but that remains to be seen.
>same cooling
But the stock cooler on the 480 is one of the worst factory coolers in years. Why would you be happy about that?
It's not that bad. Hawaii was way worse. It should be fine on the 470 since it's a low clocked P10
What games? AOTS and Doom? Who the fuck plays AOTS to begin with
Doom will be abandoned in a month or so
They could use it later on GP100 which hasn't been announced yet.
>They could use it later on GP100 which hasn't been announced yet.
>they actually think they're getting true Pascal instead of the compromised bullshit that has been the 1000 series
This release has been a shitshow. Same with AMD, no one has cards at fair prices.
It all depends on Vega really. 780 Ti was a fully unlocked GK110 but if it doesn't deliver then Nvidia has no reason to release the 1080 Ti as that.
>Same with AMD, no one has cards at fair prices.
As much as I'm on the wait train before the 480 was out a 970 went for ~$270.
Buying a 970 now when the RX480 exists is a pretty dumb move. RX480s were definitely in stock for the first week, even if they're reference models. I bought a 970 last year for $260 and a free game since I knew I wasn't getting any of the Nvidia shit. The Pascal Titan X is just disgusting, not only pricing it $200 above the last iteration, but will probably have the same stock issues from the 1000 series. The sad thing is that Vega will be an even bigger shitshow, since HBM2 is not only expensive, but more difficult to manufacture. I guess I won't be building a new system this year after all.
so in a standard where there is 14 games (6 of which only exist for benchmarks) amd current gen wins over last generations comparative cards.
kek
I can't believe people are getting excited about titan x with purposely gimped vram, when they're going to release a titan x black next year with 200 more cores and hbm2.
