>bought a Windows tablet >find out it's pretty useless; sell it >get an Android tablet >can have some use for it, for reading and media consumption, but I rarely use it since I usually read on my laptop >only real benefit is for watching movies in bed
What does Sup Forums use their tablets for? I think this is one bandwagon I can't get on.
Carputer. GPS with pre-loaded maps, music, videos, can tether to my phone if needed, and I use a Bluetooth ODB2 module to make sure the car isn't acting up.

>Carputer
Now there's a word I haven't seen in a long time.
>tfw remember reading threads on a tech forum in the mid-2000s about guys setting up carputers >now it's easier than ever to do it

Surface RT for my mom Literally uninfectable, solitaire and all the basic apps are there

Surface 3 is really easy to fold up and grab when class ends, and is powerful enough for the things I need to do, so I like it

Yep! For a while I thought about setting up my netbook in the trunk with a variety of inverters and adapters. I also considered SBCs, which also required a bunch of wiring and extra components. Then I saw someone on YouTube drop a Nexus 7 into their center console and my mind was blown. Especially with modern car audio systems, it's such a cakewalk. Rigging up the power is the hardest part and I just got an alarm/remote start installation shop to run it for me. That service, the tablet and the ODB module altogether still cost next to nothing in both money and setup time.

I mainly use mine to shitpost here when I'm in lying in bed.

iPad Mini 3 - 64 GB wifi-only
I never thought I would ever want or like a tablet. I would've gotten a Samsung tablet (could program with / upgrade ROM) but I was gifted this so whatever.
I use it very often. > Sup Forums /o/, /s/, and Sup Forums. > 420chan /opi/, /stim/, and Sup Forums > Music player in my car > Netflix / Hulu while laying in bed at night > Portable pornography > I use it as a camera and I find the default image editor to be very good. > Skype
It fits in most of my pockets, and I prefer to use it around the house in lieu of my cell phone, on accout of the larger screen.

I want the Tab S for dat OLED, but the first gen looks better than the S2; same SOC, better aspect ratio, bigger battery... What's the catch?

iPad 4.
Bought it back in 2012, used it originally for mobile apps that I couldnt use comfortable on a phone. Now every phone is so big, it really is only good for animu and a bedside computer (it's stand by time makes it an excellent choice for it).

Sup Forums Zenpad s 8.0 is at $249 for the 64gb/4gb model. Worth it? Was thinking about getting a Shield K1 tablet because I'm retiring my Nexus 7 2013. Spec wise it's better but is there anything similar? I did own an iPad mini 2 which made me fond of the 4:3 aspect ratio. Only thing turning me off about it is the Atom CPU and lack of Marshmallow.
Julian Flores
i5 SP3 as a laptop replacement, mainly so I can use external peripherals. Fast enough for most work / developing (runs linux natively or in a VM just fine) and still portable, even with all the accessories.
Marginally useful as a tablet, for reading on the train and manga viewer etc, but not worth it just for that.

iPad Air - Jailbroken. Really useful. I can access my Raspberry Pi NAS from anywhere in my local network. My daily driver. Using PlayerXtreme (almost like mpv for iOs) for watching my anime and movies. Can access my NAS to add .torrent files (Jailbreak does a lots of things.), see status of other torrents. If I'm bored, there are really good games or emulators (again, Jailbreak.) for iOs. DS games, PSP games, PS1 games, PS2 games (currently beta), or just using Remotr to play my PC games. Really good device. Also, the comfort of accessing my all stuff from my couch/bed/toilet/bath. If you use any mobile devices, my suggestion is to you is applying Liquipel: liquipel.com/
Adrian Russell
The first gen is definitely better. I have one and it's great. Runs CM with no issues.

Actually, you fell for a meme
You really did OP, tablets are for kids, and adults who are tech-illiterate. That isn't to say that tablets are bad, I'm just saying that a power user or someone with tech-aptitude is not the intended audience.
You have laptops 12-13 inches for portability OP, you can't tell me you couldn't have done whatever you've had in mind for the tablet on an X230.
Anthony Cooper
Nope. Not at all. They are great for accessing your files (anime, video etc.) from your bed, couch or toilet. When you have access to your files natively? PC is better.
Brody Ward
This is a scam isn't it? Still ordered anyway.
Anthony Hernandez
seems very sketchy

This and only this. >daily reminder that if you don't have a designated shitting tablet you're poor
