Is the battery life for the Z3C better with Marshmallow or Lollipop?
What I've read suggests downgrading from M to L might be possible and, if so, I'm thinking about doing it so I can then put on the slim L ROM from XDA onto it. The thought of having all the good parts of Sony's ROM and none of the bloat sounds nice.
Is the 100$ difference between the 1 + 3 worth it compared to the Moto X pure?
>Idiot that has never had a nice phone but now has a job here

hey asshole, why do you keep stealing /ptg/ op's pic?

Ive had a flip phone since forever, and just grabbed a Moto G Plus at half price, no contract.
I only ever have used phones for talk and text, all of which the dumb phone does better. Also that Battery Life. How do I jump on the Bandwagon and enjoy it?
Ryan Barnes
Is the bobovr the best Phone VR for $30 or less? Got a Moto X Pure so I gotta get one that fits a larger phone as well.
Benjamin Sanchez
Download some apps and games so you can never use a phone like a phone ever again.

With kitkat z3 had its best battery life. Lollipop made it dogshit and marshmallow half fix it but killed stamina mode. Sony has been updating stamina mode and battery life to work with marshmallow and it is possible z3 and the rest of the Xperias get a better battery life with Nougat.

Aaron Walker
does anyone know if the note 3 will work with straight talk?
Jeremiah Lopez
No but more importantly why would you want to get cucked to death by straight talk? Why not just use metropcs?
Brayden Wright
I've heard about the upcoming update to the Z3 line will bring Stamina mode back. Anticipation of that is the reason I've stuck with Marshmallow so far. (It shipped to me with Lollipop so I never got to experience KK with it.
The battery life with MM has still been great for my needs (which are small - down to 20% after charging it seven days prior). Still want to root this thing and purge the bloat, but Stamina mode would at least be a nice compromise in the meantime.

>ST: $45 for 5GB LTE >PCS: $50 for 5GB LTE Isn't that only good if you add a 2nd line for $25?
Gabriel Cox
Why does Google Play Services keep draining so much battery on my S7? It has ~64% battery usage (not 64% of the whole battery, just used) with the screen off. If I restart the phone it usually fixes it and has 0% battery usage but it always comes back a few days later
Brandon Foster
Stamina mode is actually back from all the z series since a couple of months ago, it is not as great and customizable as with kitkat though but it works.

If you had to get one now, then I'd go with the HTC 10.

Okay thanks. I'm going for the HTC10 because it supports msd.

is the galaxy s7 duos any good?

sold my z3c and pre-ordered zte axon 7. did i fuck up /spg/?

LG G5 is better than both.

yes

thanks for elaborating motherfucker

OP3 is faster and will most likely have better support when it comes to updates.
Moto X Pure is a good value, but it has yet to receive the most recent update released for Marshmallow and I doubt the folks at Lenovo are going to support it anymore.
Not a bad phone by any means (though battery life is mediocre), but keep in mind it has SD support where as the OP3 does not.
Isaac Williams
I was also deciding between these two, but I ended up ordering a OP3 today. Only thing holding me back was the no SD supprt, but I figured out I don't even use more than 64GB on my current phone. OxygenOS was also a nice bonus from what I could see (coming from a long Samsung user).
Samuel Barnes
Is samsung and one plus phones the only ones that uses ufs 2.0?
Lucas Long
lol no
Luis Powell
>ufs 2.0 Xiaomi Mi 5 uses it if I'm not mistaken
Chase Foster
>no SD supprt
You can also buy one of those USB OTG thingy
Cameron Smith
I actually have two USB drives that also have micro USB ports as well. I've used them a few times on my tablet which only had 32gb storage. They are very nice not having to use any adapters.
Josiah Murphy
Im in the US, where should i buy a redmi note 3 pro. ive seen alot of janky chink sites, but i dont want to be sold a fake or be ripped off somehow
Matthew Parker
I was told the OTG is faster but I haven't tested it yet.
Nobody sells RN3P here in the US because of network compatibility issues
Jack Russell
Chink general guys buy mostly from geekbuying, aliexpress and gearbest. If you're still too squimish use the site with paypal

HTC 10 is better for music and has expandable storage. It's also not a fucking phablet.
In honestly though, I'd wait for the new Nexus models coming this year.
Anthony Garcia
seems like the international version has the right bands according to willmyphonework. i dont really know too much about phones and stuff, is there some other bullshit i need to be checking for compatibility?
Easton Gomez
>If requesting purchasing advice, please provide your country and what carrier you will be using it with, along with wanted features, budget and size.
Country: Romania Carrier: Orange, but I don't want it carrier locked Budget: €200-€400 Size: Small enough to fit in hand. Definitely no phablets
Looking for something with a great camera (since I prefer the comfort of not carrying around an extra gadget to take photos with) - and it's a huge bonus if it's good with night photos. I'm comfortable with it not having microSD slot, as long as it offers 32GB storage or more. 2 GB of RAM is more than enough because I'm an optimization freak, and I only play small games anyway and if it has good support from cm community it's even better. Right now I'm looking at the Nexus 5x, Xiaomi Mi 4/5, OnePlus X/2. Most comparisons I've seen seem to just point me towards the 5x. Are there other great options ? If not, when do you think prices for these phones will be optimal ? I could wait 2-3 more months before purchasing.
Kevin Stewart
What kind of bloatware and/or botnets does the redimi note 3 come with? Can they be disabled? I don't want the chinks to know what kind of porn i'm into.
Julian Watson
I'm stuck on sprint and need a new phone but dont get the ability to "upgrade" until next year, if i buy a sprint phone off ebay or amazon and then just put my sim card it should work right? I won't have to go to the sprint store and have them do shit to it or charge me a fee?
Any phones you would recommend for sprint under $250?
Evan Perez
Hey lads, some local online shop is offering the Galaxy S7 at a 100 euros discount with free shipping (so 600 euros in total). Should I sell my N6P and grab one? Main things tempting me are >better battery >camera is nice >front fingerprint reader >mSD support I don't like Touchjizz but it's not the S7E or a Note so no memetarded features and themes hide most of the shittiness of TW.
Xavier Barnes
you mean worse even than G4
Isaiah Cruz
True that
Oliver Allen
LG G4 fits all those except it's 5.5 inches. Tho it's curved and fits nicely into your hand, the 5x is worse but cheaper ~1500 lei pt G4 ~1200 pt 5X Up to you, but the cameras on the G4 destroy every 2015 phones and completes with this year's flagships(tested these myself) Ceau
Justin Harris
I have 400€. Should I get this?
Connor Lopez
Thanks for the recommendation. Just looked over OnePlus 3 and I'm fairly tempted to cough up the extra €100 for a more future proof phone. Don't see myself changing it in the next 3-4 years, so it helps a lot.
Juan Torres
>Galaxy s7 duos for 490$ Isnt that cheaper than the normal one? Is it different or something?
Aiden Clark
Do people really leave their GPS on all the time and complain about battery life and not turn it on only when they need it?
Jacob Robinson
if only it didnt have the fucking ugly leather back
Jack Bell
I bought one, though I'm still waiting for it (ordered two weeks ago) because I ordered it from a local retailer instead of directly from oneplus.
Seems like a fine buy as long as you're fine with the lack of mSD, chinks being slow with updates and apparently some bugs that some users have.
Jason Jenkins
2gb ram/16gb rom or 3gb/32gb rom for $30 more? is if i have an sd card do I really need that extra 1gb of ram?
Cooper Price
>chinks being slow with updates
Do you even need them? With an open bootloader and a huge community, you will always get the best out of this device compared to others.
William Hall
Some people want to stay on stock, so it's a factor for some.
Gavin Adams
If I am thinking of making a Moto G4 my first smartphone is it worth spending the extra $150 to get a Nexus 5? Is it worth spending the extra $200 to get the Iphone 6E?
thanks
Owen Reyes
What has storage to do with RAM?
Joshua Collins
I bought it last week and will get it tomorrow, but I feel like I should have researched a bit more. I lurked the forums and there seem to be a lot of small bugs and annoyances with the software.
There are complaints about 1. Bluetooth issues with many cars 2. Volume keys not working when screen is off 3. Missing notification when phone enters deep sleep (doze) 4. Youtube not playing 1080p60fps videos and defaults them to 480p max (apparently Google's fault?) 5. Battery drain
My main issue with this is that I use Bluetooth in my car extensively and also music playback with wired headphones, if I run into bug 1 or 2 the phone is going back, I'm not going to wait for a sw update, and maybe I'll buy it again when the issues are fixed.
Noah Russell
Shit I know how to fix that . It sounds crazy but place a piece of thick paper over the sensor next to the camera. It actually fucking works
Kayden Ward
The OP3 seems like the more future proof phone because 6Gb of RAM will come in handy in the long run. The main issue with android is RAM, that's the reason why older phones become unusable. If you get the Memesung S7 for example, with newer versions of Android you WILL have issues because of low ram. Samsung phones are full of bloatware and "features" that naturally use up a lot of RAM. The S7 is already slower than the OP3 despite same-y hardware, that's because of the Samsung bloat. Also, if you owned Samsung phones in the past, you'll know that their phones are very good on release and then within a year they're unusable. The same applies for heavily customized phones like Sony, Huawei, HTC, etc. My current daily driver, a MotoG3 (1Gb of RAM version) feels noticeably snappier than my S4 despite being a lot less powerful hardware wise. Also the OP3 can be unlocked and rooted easily (and you won't void the warranty), even if OnePlus shits itself and stops releasing updates, you'll be able to rely on bored indiands from XDA and their beautiful custom kernels and roms. With Root you can install Xposed and mod your phone and customize it to a higher degree, or remove built in apps you don't use. If you get a Samsung, it's going to be much harder to mod due to KNOX and other bullshit.
TL;DR, I've been using Android since 1.6, for future proofness you need these 4 aspects 1. Amount of RAM 2. Clean OS 3. Moddability 4. Supportive manufacturer for stock updates
OP3 seems to have all of them, except they seem to be a bit slow on 4. Samsung has none.
Blake Bailey
Anyone know if my phone isnt fully paid off if I can still switch the sim card to another phone if i continue paying it off? It's a cheap ass phone but had a long contract and it's been really pissing me off lately and looking into getting a LG G4 I have Sprint as well
Joshua Richardson
Yes actually. Bored indians on XDA can only go so far when modding the stock firmware. When the bug is embedded deep into the system or even worse hardware related (forgot to mention here , but there seems to be shitty sound quality when recording video as well) there's nothing they can do about it.
If you want to go on custom firmwares like CM or others, from my experience they're always extremely buggy. I've had all sorts of major bugs when using CM, such as the screen turning off indefinitely after a call forcing me to reboot, random reboots while browsing, notification led not working, worse camera quality, missing features (such as fm radio), Google Apps randomly crashing or not working properly, issues with USB OTG, glitchy graphics (misaligned icons, white text on white menus, stuff like that) and more. But then again I always used phones that weren't friendly to mods such as Samsung and Sony. I resort to custom firmwares when the phone is obsolete, right now I'm using it on an old Xperia Arc, and while it makes the phone usable compared to the disgusting stock rom, it's affected by a shitload of bugs including random reboots.
Nathan Taylor
Which sensor?
Josiah Hill
nothing except you get one with the other. Merely trying to say the storage isn't a factor.
Cooper Fisher
Guys I'm looking into buying a Redmeme Note 3 Pro and I have a few questions, I've seen it uses lollipop, mui or whatever its called but still lollipop, is it going to get upgraded to 6.0 or even 7.0 some day? I don't feel good buying a phone that is already stuck in a old android version, also is buying the 2 gb ram version too dumb? am I gonna need 3GB of ram?
Carson Turner
Read the wiki and do your research, not going to spoon feed you here.
Owen Sullivan
anyone have experience with this? their stupid ass fucking website has been down for 4 hours and i can't check and i'd rather just pull the trigger and wont feel stupid if i have to return it if i can get some confirmation
Hudson Cooper
I suspect that a lot of the shitty bugs won't be resolved until N, since I have a cheapo near-stock MM phone from Alcatel, and it displays a lot of shitty bugs like 2, 3, and especially 5.
Android doesn't give a shit about your privacy, and doesn't even hide that fact.
Also, malware deluxe.
Cooper Butler
Are Huawei phones any good? They look good on paper for their price.
Hudson Hall
if you have a phone you are being tracked so just get the best phone so you can ignore it without a phone you are also being tracked, just embrace it and live faggot

Just picked up P9. It's a fucking iphone clone. Only difference is that it uses huawei account instead of apple id

How do people even use a phone with under 5.5 inch display? I use 5.5 and it still feels small. I'm not even a true big guy, I'm like 3 U's out of 4 max.
Noah Carter
Same here, I got a 5" phone after using 5.7" phones and for some reason they're harder to use one handed than the big Notes I had.
Jeremiah Torres
Is now a good time to trade in my iPhone 6? It will probably loose value when the 7 comes out. I'd want to sell it for enough money to buy a new phone, most likely back to android
Jose Thomas
Lose value*
Oliver King
Any flip phones that have the same functionality as a slap?
Jeremiah Brooks
I'm going abroad for half a year in 3 weeks. Currently have a 2+ year old Nexus 5 and I need a new phone. Something with decent battery life and a GOOD camera. Nexus 5X looks alright, but the new phones are around the corner and the battery life on the 5X is not that good. Also, why aren't there 5" phones anymore... Nexus 5X is the absolute maximum in size I want.
Gabriel Murphy
What's wrong with Touchjizz? I don't use Samsung phones but I keep hearing everyone on the Internet complaining about it.
Easton Butler
Does it have to run Android?
Nokia phones have the best cameras on any phone, including that Panasonic phone that was basically a camera that ran Android, and they also have excellent battery life.
Get something with a PureView.
Aaron Perry
Is it worth turning on encryption for my phone? Is the slowdown noticeable?
