It's a Xiaomi laptop so they actually are charging you for the brand name too. There will be more obscure chink brands that charge less.
Xiaomi tech is quality stuff. To chinks, they are expensive but that's the price they must pay for a top tier chink brand.
I have the ROG 750JZ pic related, which is basically the same damn thing, except this has the previous flagship GPU and DDR3 instead of 4.
So practically the same machine.
Now this thing of mine is a massive behemoth of a laptop and has a god tier cooling.
Tons of room for airflow.
Still, it hangs around 50-60C in normal use and maxes out around 80C when going 100% CPU usage.
There's no way in hell that this Chink thing is going to be keeping it's temps anywhere under 70C in normal use.
Anything more intensive and it's going to hit 100C in an instant.
Thin as hell + good performance is a shit combination.
Put this thing on your lap and you'll be looking at a trip to the hospital for 3rd degree burns.
