On good monitors the difference is negligible desu I think the plus to using a matte screen that kills all glare and reflectoin decreasing eye strain negates the "slightly better colours!" aspect of glossy (for most people it depends on what you use the monitor for for the most part)

That's measurably wrong though.
A good matte will look better than a shit glossy, sure, but if they're the same quality then the glossy will always win.
I personally prefer matte because I don't just sit in a dark cave with my laptop but don't spread bullshit like this.

between a good matte and a good glossy the difference is not "night and day" though and more like "this one looks a tiny bit better"
The trade off you get for a matte screen is for 99% of people a better choice
