Daily reminder if that AMD did not exist we would still be using single core pentiums and 32 bit operating systems.

Daily reminder that if AMD didn't exist, we would have ditched x86 for good.

nah, if AMD wasn't around Cyrix or Via or someone would have taken their place. Or maybe IBM or Fujitsu or Zilog or one of the other dozen chipmakers of the 80s. Or shit, maybe Alpha or MIPS or some other architecture would have overtaken x86.

Reminder if AMD didn't exist my feet would freeze in the winter

my i5 gets way hotter than my fx chip ever did. that only really applies to their graphics cards nowadays.

Did you do any type of overclocking and did you use the thermal paste meme?

yes but my amd cpu was overclocked as well. 77C max on the intel chip, while i never went above 61C on the amd one.

Which gen i5 was it?

>things never happened

4690k
it did tho

Daily reminder that correlation doesn't imply causation.

Intel cpus are hot af do to the fact that the heat spreader isn't soldered to the die

I would reallllly like if amd fixed itself or if ibm bought it.

Do you really think being this autistic adds anything to the thread?

Your highend PC was as fast then as it is now, but due to more limitations we had better games and leaner software.

I wish that would have actually happened.

The thread is shit and you must kill yourself.

To what?

Itanium clearly.

Itanium is housefire tier garbage

If AMD wasn't around intel would have pushed it onto the market. Top down. They would have had their Itanium arch compete directly against POWER in the datacenter, and they would have continued uninterrupted to bribe OEMs, only now to use Itanium based desktop chips.

daily reminder that the 480 would have been a rebranded 390x if based nvidia didn't exist.

no we woodent

now fukk off

How powerful was it?

Not justifiably more powerful than X86 for a 250 watt cpu

If AMD someone else would because IBM required two vendors for all the parts in their PCs, which is why AMD got in the x86 game in the first place. Given whoever would take AMD's place in an AMD free world didn't bother developing AMD64 like AMD did we'd be stuck with Itanium CPUs

Daily reminder AMD hasn't been relevant in the CPU market for over a decade and they desperately cling to the 3 years in the history of their company when they were relevant despite being sub par before and after then.

It's true. AMD chips are only safe to be pushed to 65C until they start throttling, while Intels are safe to run at 80C

I don't know where the housefire meme comes from.

What if zen introduces 128bit?

Daily reminder that if Intel didn't exist, AMD wouldn't exist.

Daily reminder that if AMD ceases to exist you instantly pay double or more.

It's shit
