Literal Housefire R9 290

My GPU (r9 290) suddenly set on fire, I was next to my pc when it happened and turned it off, quickly took off the side panel and fought the flame back. I have no idea what went on, was just doing some web browsing and it went.

Holy shit, I hope the rest works... Try booting with the iGPU.

Sucks m8, were the temps fine last time you checked?
I assume it's out of warranty already, right?

RIP
Wait for RX495 or 1080Ti, use the iGPU and take a break from gaming.

We warned you

Reminds me about the user who burnt his mobo with his amd cpu.
This time it was his fault thought because it's wasn't support

Holy shit. Try to RMA it.

What brand?

why the fuck do people buy amd again?

Same thing happened to my 290x a year ago. The fire ended up damaging the motherboard too, and both were past warranty.

Check if your PC still boots

>implying a faulty VRM or MOSFET is AMD's fault

Iirc (got a 290X) that's where the memory VRMs are located. I suppose one was faulty and shorted out, or overheated because the PSU was delivering to little voltage, which drove the current up.

It's a very uncommon fault, and pure happenstance.

Probably the same reason people continue to buy Nvidia even after the Fermi disaster ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

>water cooling
No mystery here.

First of all that isn't your picture. This was posted on another website. Second the idiot shorted out his memory power delivery with his water cooling setup. Probably didn't use thermal pads.

Just amazing. Another AMD success story.

because amada

and memes

yeah my cpu always burns shit down by my pcie slots...

don't expect anything above a room temperature IQ here friend.

It would if you tried to run a 185 watt CPU in a bored designed for 95 watt CPUs.

either op is this guy or just wanting to shitpost.

according to its an msi. he had it for little over two years.

a lot of people believe it was caused by a short caused by his loop.

Well your mobo just proved it features AMD Crossfire

25 IQ is quite low.

the 290 needed to take an explosive poo but couldn't find the loo

Too soon user haha

It is now, the serial numbers been tampered with!

>Brand new custom water loop
Step 1: OP didn't install the waterblock right. Step 2: Waterblock didn't make contact with voltage regulator
Step 3: OP ran Furmark
Step 4: Voltage regulator goes kaboom
Step 5: OP is a faggot and blames the GPU instead of his incompetence

Lying nvidia shill.
