Windows Discussion thread

No shitposting

Is Ltsb the best version of Windows 10? No ads, no Cortana, and in the updates i only see an audio driver update.

Windows is shit.

How do you even get LTSB N?

I use Windows 10 Pro with the Anniversary update.

I simply don't use cortana.

I disabled the ads in the start menu, including the Windows Store live tile.

Honestly I've never seen ads ever since I started using 10 a year ago so it's a huge meme for me.
>disable suggestions for start menu
>disable os tips in start menu
>disable suggestions on lockscreen
aand done

and I dunno Pro does everything I want it to

Just search around for an ISO, there should be some places you can download it. Anniversary update for LTSB due October 1st so you'll only find older versions for now.

I found a torrent but suspect AIDS

education is the best version

Enterprise is the only edition with the ability to get rid of that shit. Why do you insist on working against Microsoft to use their shitty new release?

>I simply don't use Cortana
Holy shit you're an idiot. Since the anniversary update, it can't be disabled.

>Pro
The anniversary update removed gpos. Have fun with losing control of your os.

I still operate on Windows 7, Windows 10 is trying to force it's way onto my computer. How do I get a restraining order?

Are there any reputable (to some extent) isos for enterprise?

The free upgrade is over, it won't work even if it gets on there.

As if it's not going to always be free. They practically beg windows users to switch over.

I live in a country where Cortana isn't supported, and MS won't even let you turn her on.

>Used to edit videos for fun
>One day windows "upgraded" to 10 without my permission and didn't make a restore point
>Now if I start Sony Vegas all audio on my computer stops working
>Only way I've found to fix it is by not only reinstalling audio drivers, but re-flashing the BIOS as well
>Don't want to use Adobe products
Fucking kill me

Wew. To be honest, Microsoft is being a huge dick with its forcing of windows 10. Sure, i like it, but let the damn users decide.

Restore point is useless outside whatever OS you're using at the time. If you're worried about backups I recommend creating a system image.

...

>it can't be disabled
False.

What's the best version for Windows does tablets now? Still ltsb?

Windows 8.1 with updates disabled.

Gaming fags and dumb office fags use Windows

if you're over 10 you shouldn't be "gaming" and if you need it for work have fun losing your business when your licenses get audited.

Any cracks floating around for 10?
I missed the free upgrades and I'm tired of looking at this watermark.

>if you're over 10 you shouldn't be "gaming"
kek fucking kill yourself faggot

Listen son, get off your "gaymur" pc, get outta your basement and get your dick wet. Also, get a job like a good citizen and contribute to society. While you're out, take out the garbage eh? Thanks.

You've never worked in the real world, have you?

Business runs Active Directory. Active directory runs on Windows. That is the current nature of things.

Until such time as NetWare makes a come back, or Apple gets it group policy game, nothing is going to change.

Get the clean ISO version.

Do a SHA1 hash of the iso you downloaded. If it matches either of the hashes below, it's ok. You can use powershell for that (Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA1 file.iso) or a 3rd party program.

You are manchild here

>update to the anniversary edition because I'm stupid
>seems to be normal
>take a look at the new-ish control panel, it's still shit.
>suddenly the explorer process (I think) freezes up along with everything else. Either if I right click or a minute or so passes
>mfw it just werks so well I go back to the old version

>You are manchild here

>coming from a GaYmUR

No, you are.

reminder that Education is the same thing as Enterprise except no Cortana

Why do you all persist on getting Windows 10? Isn't it easier to stay on Windows 7 and debotnet that instead?

Sure, it's still Windows, but I think the botnet is less ingrained in 7

There is no "best" version of Windows 10. You don't use Windows 10, period. You probably shouldn't use Windows 8 either, but at least it's not Windows 10. If you want to be taken seriously, you use Windows 7. If you want true freedom, you use Linux.

>botnet is less ingrained in 7
It is. They patched the same shit with updates but since they didn't show any new EULA or ask any permissions when they were installed they can't collect any data unless you join CEIP.

That's what they want you to think.

Eh. No one has proven otherwise. The regular fearmongering shit. Don't get me wrong. I hate the spying shit but no one has proven there's something

how do i update ltsb to win10 ltsb?
I activated the administrator account, and tried to run the tool, and it says contact system administrator

If windows 7 still has the largest marketshare I wouldn't be surprised if they sneaked all that shit in somehow.

I do agree though, I still have a machine running 7 and I don't plan on changing any time soon. I purposely keep my usage minimal though.

I have just LTSB. It's nicer than all the other versions, because it hasn't tried any bullshit... yet. In the end, it's still Windows so you aren't supposed to feel safe from the botnet or anything, maybe just less intruded upon.
