Is it a meme?
All three of the PCIe 3.0 x16 slots are reinforced with metal.

It's a fucking GAYMAN motherboard, of course it's a stupid gimmick.
It's for fat filthy ham-fisted manchildren who don't know how to handle technology, to prevent their sausage fingers from bending the ports
Well that would actually help with gpu sagging. I don't know if somone has actually got their slot broken by the stress on it over time but the thought of it is scary to me so sure, I would prefer that kind of reinforcement.
Not really
All the 3rd party cards break PCI-E specification with height, depth and weight so standard slots are in danger of warping etc
I'd like all manufacturers to do this desu
>Motherboard armor
out of all the stupid shit they do with motherboard designs, reinforcement of pcie slots is what bothers you enough to make this thread?
quit samefagging, OP
That looks pretty neat. Id like to see a version of that without any lettering in it. Clean and rugged looking.
This. Though I wish they would've made the retention clip more durable, accessible and easily replaceable. Anyone that's built high end rigs with heavy GPU's numerous times has had these retention clips break due to large graphic cards being too heavy and too big/clunky to reach the clip properly.
>we got your back
lel
Doesn't hurt, looks clean.
It's dumb and makes things more expensive but it's not a bad thing.
...
I've seen a shitload of returned motherboards with the pcie slots ripped out
doesnt seem that stupid of an idea honestly
Ain't that caused by people not knowing about the latch?
Well, if there's anyone retarded enough to do that, it's gaymar faggots, so I guess retard-proofing it makes a little bit of sense.
Probably, now that I look again, the 'reinforced' slots dont really do anything about that
i cant really, imagine someone being that hamfisted to not notice a latch though, but apparently it's a thing
good thing that i have a mobo with 3 pcie slots because one already got fried
...
>desperate enough to edit the HTML for the sake of a screenshot
my point is that I'm not the OP, you massive flaming faggot
>Is it a meme?
No, there are actually people who managed to do what you can see in the imageā¦
That is actually pretty cool, better than flashy 7 colors gaymer shits
ebonics on your board yo
>gaming
Like pottery.
Do you know what sucks? Gigabyte z170 gaming seven motherboard has all the features that I want... Except it looks stupid
Looks like a Nintendo cartridge slot.
>Audio, COM, TPM and USB connectors clearly stated in pcb
>They still printed the names inside the connectors
I'm not sure if it is a good thing for them being considerate or some sort of internal joke about their target gayming market being full of retards.
Do you plan to look at your monitor or at your motherboard?
maybe its shielding. Even if I doubt it does shit.
I've never thought about card sag before.
Is this actually something I have to worry about?
I'm going to be putting a 1070 in this week so I'm a little bit concerned.
No. Just use basic common sense when installing/removing cards. You know the card has to literally be screwed into the case, right? There's no way I can imagine that a properly installed and properly handled card is going to break off a PCI-E slot.
How the hell do you break one of those because of the size of the card? Are you installing and removing cards with the system upright, not flat on its side?
I know it sounds a bit dense, but I thought this was occurring even while it was screwed in, because I can't imagine anyone would install a card and not fix it to the case.
That's a relief anyway, cheers.
Cards do sag, if they're long and heavy. They sag across their length though, like the back end hangs down a bit. They don't sag from the PCI-E slot, at least not to any degree that could actually be any problem.
The camo is pretty gross, though.

How ham fisted are you? I've removed both my GTX 980's from my SuperMicro board countless times, and have never broken one. Also those clips dont really do much other than prevent the card from unseating when being moved, the bulk of the boards weight are retained by the mounting brackets
