Specs: >AMD E1-1500 APU @ 1.48GHz >Comes without a graphics card but has an integrated graphics (radeon hd 7310) >6gb ram >500gb hdd >430w power supply (not that bad)
I used fraps to run some benchmarks on some really non-demanding games, and to put it into perspective, i had a max framerate of 12 on this one roblox game on high settings.
My cpu's actually a dual core. I'm trying to think whether I should just try to identify my motherboard and just upgrade and put in a gpu...
I'm on a very strict budget of $500 CAN so i think that would be better then getting a completely new pc.

inb4 someone shows up with a Pentium 4
Lucas Nelson
Sounds like a computer that should be converted into a router.
Adam Scott
Lol. I honestly don't mind the integrated graphics, but the fucking base frequency... I guess that what I get for buying a $400 pc at bestbuy or something.
Even emulating gamecube games has an unplayable framerate...
John Barnes
hey, watch it.
my desktop is a p4. right now i'm using my atom laptop with windows xp

Full specs?

Buy a NEW 600 watt psu. No used shit.
Go on ebay, look for a decent AM3 or AM3+ motherboard. (new can be 50$, used but in good condition can be 30 or less)
Get a cpu. Don't need to go above 6 cores unless you play a lot of dx12/vulkan games or do a lot of video transcoding. - can be used. - 6300 is < 50$ on ebay
Get 8gb of DDR3 ram at 1600mhz or better. (< 50$)
Get a 150$ graphics card. Ebay should be OK for this as well (cucks selling their 970s now that the 1070 is out).
evo 212 for cpu cooler (~30$)
Spend the rest of your money on a nicer case and case fans, or on more ram.
There will of course be people arguing intel builds, which is OK. I just have more experience making cheap AMD builds in that budget.
Ayden Reed
$500 canadian.
Caleb Gray
Yeah, AMD's shit is cheaper. I might just upgrade my current pc. But thanks for the suggestions.
I'll just replace the cpu and then put in a gpu. I feel like my mobo pci type is 2.0, but it doesn't matter since 3.0 is reverse compatible.(?)
Liam King
With the 212, you can usually overclock the fuck out of a 6300
Benjamin Cox
Intel core 2 duo t6660 2gb ram Radeon Hd5670 550W power supply(that's good)
Christian Jackson
My last desktop had this: 4x2GBs of DDR4 RAM. Nvidia GT210 AMD Phenom II 925
And all of that packaged together on an MSI 760gm-e51 inside a generic no-brand case with a 1TB HDD with around 3200rpm.
Now that computer is dead now, and i'm using a SONY Vaio with an Intel i5-2450m, a 500GBs HDD with who knows what speed and 6GBs of RAM. Computer used to belong to my sister until she got a new one.
Overall I feel like this is an improvement tho!

I had celeron 847 up until 2 months ago. It was working fine, 2x1.1GHz (800MHz up to 1.1), hd graphic and 4GB ram. Vbox was not fast on one core so i had to take quad but i would not change it.
Wyatt Powell
> intel core2 quad q6600 >9800 GTX+ >4 GB of ram (can't hold more, because if 10 yo mainboard) >540W power supply.
I'm desperately trying to save up some money to get a new machine (800$)
>i5 unlocked >16gb of ram >any graphics card for ~350$
Jack Peterson
I had same too asus am i correct? It was 1kg machine but cpu was so slow at vm or windows so finally sold it for good price
Only thing which is remotely ok is the cpu and the monitor
