Nothing I still use 5.32

Everything
>tried to be video player
>ads
>"premium version"
>bloat up the ass

AOL happened

7zip happened

Fuck you nigger I use it.
Same installer for 12 years.

It didn't go open source. The open source community would have kept it more active and alive.

yeah just like Clover and countless of other dead open sores apps were 'kept alive'

Speaking if Clover, is there a different program that provides tabbed file browsing.

I don't want a whole seperate file browsing program, just added tabs to the existing explorer.

I tried installing Clover on my new laptop and it screwed with my video.

I still use it

They stopped.

Still using 5.666

QTabBar. Hasn't been updated since 2011 but still works on W10.

Normie tier software, just like vlc and utorrent

censored whipping the llama's ass

Spotify happened. Now all traditional music players are obsolete.

lol vlc

>Not using top of the line Zune Player for Windows PC

lol weaboo faggot

They sold it to AOL.

got RAPED from outta space

They didn't port it to Linux.

MMD3 forever.

forever and ever.
I still have MMD the first MMD skin as my main skin even today.

vlc

nice argument!

Slow and bloated. VLC is bloated as well but sure as hell faster than winamp

Being faster doesn't mean when it's sole purpose is to "just werk" at the cost of everything related to quality.

1. It doesn't work actually. VLC has many capabilities that winamp lacks (probably for being deprecated)

2. Quality requires efficiency

You have no real reason to use winamp than hipster nostalgia these days

Winamp is a music player, it being able to play videos is a bonus.
Quality= doesn't sacrifice quality just for the sake of efficiency.

What's the best audioplayer that:
a. automatically organizes the audio files under artists and albums
b. has cover flow

basically what's the best itunes that's not itunes.

the old versions still work great
i really liked winamp as a kid, my brother had a cool Matzinger Z skin on the old winamp
TotalCommander was also pretty good

Winamp
Don't sort your files like shit and any media player will sort it like folder->Artist Name->Album Name-Song Name/Order

why would i do something myself when there's software to do it for me? in itunes i will just drag shit onto it and it automatically copies and organizes it under its specified library folder.

the term you're looking for is "anally probed"

>Quality= doesn't sacrifice quality just for the sake of efficiency.
Quality = not lagging randomly and crashing because the file was too big

Then it's not your programs that are shit, you're a complete retard as well.

Quality = Not having a shit computer that can't even compete with my 2002 PC.

Still on winamp 5.666. I'm considering an open source alternative. Is there one? I don't use library functions or anything. I just drag the music I like into one huge currently playing playlist.

You really don't get it, do you? VLC runs without lag and crash even in shit computers and Winamp being old, it is where it should excel at.

Too bad it excels NO WHERE and it still manages to crash on 2014 laptop. Your butthurt strawman defence is not convincing anyone and no one uses winamp anymore.

>Software A crashes, software B doesn't
>lol ur pc is shit XDDDD

absolutely 0/10
Go back to Sup Forums, it's probably where you come from (judging by your argument)

>You really don't get it, do you? VLC runs without lag, and crash even in shit computers
>and crash even in shit computers
Glad you understand.

Still kicking the Llama's ass :^)

Sued for cruelty to llamas

Grasping the last straw, I see

>"without lag and crash"
>I'll get rid of "without"
>"lag and crash"
>I win XDDD

Fuck off. Bye

>Doesn't know what the VLC experience is.
>Fuck off. Bye
Please don't commit more retardicide.

lol weaboo faggot

Nothing. I still use it.

>lightning fast & versatile library for audio AND video
>shoutcast
>wireless android sync
>wireless android remote
>TOP BAR MINIMIZATION
>tons of plugins

I started using an MP3 player then a phone for all my music listening, and from that point on I only cared about my media player's video playing capabilities so I switched to VLC.

I gotta say I really appreciated WinAMP's ability to use plug-ins to read special formats. I used to have a big collection of JRPG music from NES, SNES, N64 and PlayStation games in their original encoding that could only played using plug-ins in WinAMP.

What went wrong?

Nothing. Been using it since 2002 and don't plan to stop.

Nothing.

>2003
>get broadband
>start watching shoutcast video streams
>watch south park and Initial D.
fun times

This.

I miss milkdrop.

>wireless android remote for winamp
How do I do this

I use Music Bee nowadays. But I don't hear as much downloaded music as I used to.

When AOL bought Winamp and started to bundle it with shitty advertising campaigns and bloating the main interface by adding shit that wasn't called for, to the main interface, such as library, video support, internal web browsing.

Funny enough, one of the solutions to the cancer of Winamp, AIMP, went the same direction as Winamp and is now slowly meeting the same destiny as Winamp once did...

Thankfully, there's still Audacious for people who just wan't to play music in the backround

what is audacious
what is xmms
what is x11amp

This

I stopped using Winamp after they redesigned the interface and made it bloated as fuck

I think everybody escaped at that point and only grandpas that still use WinZip give a fuck about it

>tfw winzip is still a thing
>tfw there's people who pay for winzip and winrar when 7-zip literally does the job better and for free
>tfw they cost 30 bucks each
>winfags

>What went wrong?

Literally nothing. All of Sup Forums jacks off over foobar, but there is not a single reason to use foobar over winamp, since they literally do the same shit.
Unless you're an autistic ricerfag AND a winfag, foobar isn't even worth it.

I use foobar cuz you can have a fuckload of playlists open at any moment instead of having to save and load every fucking time you wanna listen to something else

Dismissing it ricer trash is just dumb

They tried to be iTunes

They didn't understand the reason why we used to like them is because they weren't that.

Do you know a single person who's ever payed for WinZip or WinRAR? Can't you just ignore the popup and the "free trial" lasts forever? That's what I always did before I knew about 7-zip

Nothing. Never needed to go beyond 2.95

Just use qmmp, literally the same shit as 2.95 with active development.

Nothing bro, they completed their mission.
Achieved final version, job well done.

>7zip
>extracts to a temp folder and THEN copies to the destination directory
I don't use software coded by retards.

I stopped caring about music player skins when I was a teenger, Foobar gets the job done without any extra bullshit and is nice and compact.

People still buy Total Commander (42 bucks, by the way), so I really have no doubts someone out there is still buying WinZip/WinRAR licenses.

I'm pretty sure Winzip and WinRAR do that as well.

That's like saying cars are dead because you can ride a bus.

Music players and Spotify are completely different from each other.

That looks rad

I bought WinRAR because I felt bad for using perfect software for free for over a decade.

Foobar2000 is ultimate /comfy/

Milkdrop and other visualizations were awesome.

I just installed this, but the tab function isn't working and folders are opening in their own window. Are there any options I need to tick?

Winamp pro keygen was simple and worked fine.
The key basically used the username+generator.

For example niggerfaggot got a key somethingsomethingsomething and it just worked. Manually updated it to a newer build every once in a while.

Though there were no real benefits in having WAPRO... The video player shit was broken as fuck and mp3 encoder was just LAME etc.

I just want a Player that syncs with my Android for me.

I never got that whole syncing thing. When I download songs, I just transfer them to my phone manually. It takes a second. Syncing requires you to set up your library and to make sure it doesn't expand beyond your phone's storage capacity, all that so you can just one-click it. Then it takes really long because it's figuring out the differences between your PC library and your phone library and neither your phone's storage or MTP are very fast.

this. i guess i am not the only old fart around here

In Helsinki library i found a small "hole" in the systems so i could permainstall winamp on the machines.

Basically user needed to have access to C:Program Files\Netscape Communicator\something so that the browser would work. I think i found it through the netscape edition of winamp...

Anywho, if they had deleted it, i just reinstalled it.

I listened to snakenet, gamingfm, vgamp, armitunes, etc. Shoutcast Radio

Sometimes i watched video streams on shoutcast tv such as DeSync etc.

i used winamp 1997-2010
2010 - onwards i've been using foobar2000

I'm using clover right now

You can rice the fuck out of Winamp as well. People still make skins for it to this day. Winamp can do literally everything any other player is capable of. You just might have to go hunt down some plug-ins.

I only updated from 2.95 to 5.0 for the "modern skins" the option. Otherwise I would still be using it. I hosted an Internet radio segment with fucking 2.95.

>2.95
Wasn't the last 2, 2.98 ?

...

I'm fairly sure it was... The internet however, disagrees with me.

I don't remember specifically. If there is that I never remember seeing it on oldversion. When I readopted Winamp years ago I went back to 2.93 because it was the last version I remember using pre 3.0. Then I had lost the install and went with 2.95 because it was the latest version available before 3.0. What I can tell you for sure is that if you don't want the fancy modern skins, and would prefer to just have the original player with different color schemes, there's no reason to go passed 2.95. Anything it can't do stock has a plugin.

Just checked.

oldversion.com/windows/winamp/

According to this there wasn't even 2.93, so I'm not sure what I used before 2.95. Maybe that's what I always had and just missed remembered. Or their database ended up with some missing versions.

>two different albums with the same name in library
>listed as the same album

amateur hour. into lö trash

i thought winfags use foobar
audacious has a winamp like skin
maybe some of the others as well

I get your point friend, but you're sort of wrong. You can play locally stored music through spotify, and I don't just mean music that's been downloaded via spotify.

This is correct. Even Windows' native zip shell extension does this when accessing zips inside zips.

still using
it really whips the llama's ass (???)

you can still use milkdrop on foobar2000

I just want a media player that sorts its library by my folder and file structure... making playlists for individual discs in a soundtrack is annoying.

Aimp3 does the same thing for free.

still using it

SHOUTcast TV being axed.
