Which one is this?

What do you mean?

First for feeling blue and lazy on a saturday morning
>Chronometre Bleu

What are you dudes doing on this fine day?

Any good sporty watch around AUD 3000 budget? Must be Swiss or European.

Good morning Sup Forums.

Depends what exactly you're looking for in a sports watch.

Squale make some great divers squale.ch/squale/scheda.php?lingua=l2&codice=12&classe=professional

and Sinn have some nice chronographs sinn.de/de/Kollektion.htm

all european and mechanical

The model.

researching guns

>Swiss or European

I'd suggest a short barreled 12 gauge for you to suck start, really gets the job done

I'm trying to think of more excuses to remain in bed for at least a couple of hours; I've been working my ass off lately and today is my first truly free day for like two months.

Sup?

If you lurk around enough and be patient you could find a second hand Speedmaster Professional, no box or papers, hard caseback, for that amount. That would probably be my choice.

NineBalls, why?

Gunfags go die, this place isn't for you.

Sinn 6060. 3 time zones with the rotating bezel.

Since the thread died, might as well as post it again.

Still on the ropes as to which of those 4 should i hunt for next, but likely going for a 36k this time.

>4 years old Suunto decided to shit the bed
Suuntos are shit...

If I were to get a gun today, it would probably be a handgun.

Well they've been used for a long time by a lot of people, so there's some pretty interesting history.

...

>they've been used for a long time by a lot of people
And so was bleeding by leeches as a medical treatment. Even thou I have a gun, I really dislike them, and I hate the idea of people buying them just because they can.

Nice family pic. I'd ditch the nigger in the right low corner, but that's just me.

Can it be repaired?

>And so was bleeding by leeches as a medical treatment.
Are you saying that neither guns nor our evolving understanding of medicine and health are interesting?

Its not worth it, Suunto said it was out of warranty and sending it to them would cost like $60 already. Plus they aren't willing to cover the shipping back so all in all it would be $200+ dollars. The most ridiculous part about this is the watch rusted on the inside, so we are looking at a full movement change. Everytime I changed the battery I used one of their kits, and it still rusted.

Turns out the watch is only 3 BAR water resist, Suunto doesn't recommend swimming with it. When I asked them why the watch have a depth sensor the guy was silent...

What do you guys think about my combo?

It's a nice watch+nato combo

Spotted a GS 5722-9990 with a replacement GS strap, slight stain on dial at $850 (can probably haggle it down some).
Should I bite? I'm thinking I might be able to bring it down to $750 or so.

Where are your Function keys?

>I'd ditch the nigger in the right low corner, but that's just me.
Not only you.

Bought it for army basic training (Or however our burger friends call it) and perhaps to wear a bit more often while there. However being bulky and blocky as it is, it had a tenancy to get snagged in the vest, wires, impossible to wear under buttoned cuffs and such.

And the light function was shit as it only works for a few moments, meaning that if you're using it as a timer it's too short of a time to properly keep it up and or it just stops the timer. Too darn bright bright as well, Lume is a far better alternative. especially on a Monster.

I haven't worn it for two months or so, nor do i intend to. Might fetch a nice sum with those adapters.

If you can live with that spot on the dial, 750$ for that is an amazing bargain. And the GS clasp is a nice touch, being about 150$ on it's own.

What's wrong with that?

As you stated there is some dial staining and the case back markings look worn down in those photos, but you still have the lion medallion and the correct crown so its probably worth it.

Thanks guys. I'll toss the seller a message and see where that gets me, at least.

>tfw someguy at the range wanted to trade his Submariner for my SVI Infinity 40sw
The gun cost a bit more new but its used, however its in great condition. However I know this guy for a while and I don't want to think I don't trust him if we were to get it certified. Then again the SVI will only go up in value(bought for $5k now its $7.5, this is the Cowboy Bebop Movie edition) while the Rolex will only go down in value. What do Sup Forums and /k/ommandos that's here.

>I don't want to think I don't trust him if we were to get it certified.

It's not about trust, it's about common sense.

He himself may not know for sure if it's real or not.

The fuck is an SVI Infinity? Never heard of this watch.

>and I hate the idea of people buying them just because they can

Lawyers far more influential and accomplished than you feel differently.

Shooty rooty freedom tooty

It's a customized 2011, which is basically a modern 1911 pistol. They run around $6k-$350k. I would get banned like the last time I posted it on Sup Forums so here's an animu representation. It is exactly this gun which is not being made anymore which is why the value has gone into the 10k range.

Nope. Definitely not Certified Chronometer anymore.

Better than this, I suppose. But not quite sure if paying ~$26 for the NOS balance complete was worth it.

But anyways, enough obsessing over the meme Seiko. The weekend means pivoting back to the Atlantic theater with ze Sinn, while meme Seiko gets to sits on the winder for more monitoring. This time I'm tilting the winder on its side for a steeper angle to see if it'll keep the 5246a wound up.

Looking into a Steinhart OVM or Seiko Sumo before I head off to my vacation. While there I plan on getting a diving certification.

Pros/Cons:

Seiko Pros:
-ISO 6425
-proven reliable and durable

Cons:
-have 4 other Seikos
-not sapphire crystal

Steinhart Pros:
-sapphire crystal
-300m
-avg. $120-$150 less than Seiko

Cons:
-300m is not ISO 6425 certified but by DIN which is German based
-been getting a bunch of sketchy reliability and QC claims on forums
-no date but I don't really care about that
-clasp looks cheap

It is also noted in the reviews that Seiko chose the Hardex over Sapphire due to its tougher nature. The Hardex scratches easier but it is much tougher to break. The Sumo is more of a tool watch chosen by professionals as the poorman's Sub, the Steinhart is a homage watch chosen by hipsters.

Sumo. It's a great watch for actual diving.
I highly recommend the Crafter Blue rubber strap.

This is kinda what I am going for as well. I was going to go with the Seiko until some user started talking about Steinhart so I did some research on the brand. Also I need to sell some of my old Seikos, I have way too many.

Shell out a couple hundred more burger bucks and go for the Shogun, fām.

It really is better in every way aesthetically. The diashield Ti is really nice too.

Can this count as certified chronometer?

Was it certified?

Shogun is literally more than twice the price. I am in used Omega Seamaster territory at that price.

Cute pupper

The shogun is a great watch, but not a great value at its price.
I love titanium divers, but at $800-900 I'd be looking at other watches.
The sumo is a great value, but its aesthetics are certainly not to everyone's liking.

It might be, it was a very last minute late night buy with no research done at all, besides that idk shit a aabout seikos.
>tfw. India special grand quartz

Of course they are. I just hope you are not reading just because you're planning to buy a gun.

Well, shit luck then. Hope your next watch comes from a wiser choice and a more reliable company. Cheers m8.

Nice.

Due to the staining on the dial you could try to push it down even more m8. Either way, if the stain doesn't bother you, go for it.

Yeah, that has always been my problem with this kind of watches; for me they lack of all what makes a watch enjoyable that I couldn't stand it. Good luck with the sale m8.

I couldn't care what lawyers "far more influential and accomplished" than me think, boy.

Between those two I would go for the Seiko.

I'm curious. Could someone spoonfeed me about this app whitchcraft?

...

If I was, I wouldn't be reading a bunch of shit about guns that haven't been made in the last century. As cool as a colt walker is, I don't have the cash to spend on one -- at least not a nice one.

That being said I'm sure I'll buy a gun here at some point.

why would you do that

Probably going to go Sumo in blue with Crafter blue band in blue. End product should look like this.

Because I enjoy it,

>It is also noted in the reviews that Seiko chose the Hardex over Sapphire due to its tougher nature.
really?? Sapphire is remarkably tough. So what exactly is Hardex? I couldn't see any hard info on it, no pun.

i like it. good choice user.

It's a propriety mineral crystal.

Why is buying a watch so hard? You think you've found the right one but then you find something else you really really like ad nauseam.

Because its called Hardlex not Hardex

>Sapphire is remarkably tough
You mean remarkably fragile.

Which one would look better on a Speedmaster?

the heavy

Bought it

Rolex BLNR is my next major purchase.

ACCUTRON

>2016
>STILL wearing a watch
ishygddt

Well i think you may have over paid about $100 for it
The pooloo people conned you

Are tuning forks not found in any modern watches these days ?

If no, why not ?

...

Sort of, they were replaced by quartz which is just a small tuning fork. Tuning forks like the accutron and omega f300 haven't been made for decades though (aside from that 50th anniversary spaceview).

COSMOTRON

because quartz got invented shortly after the tuning fork, quartz is both more accurate and cheaper to manufacture.

Oh right, quartz doesn't have the smoooooth sweep though. (or some seiko's do maybe? I dunno desu)

A stepper motor doesn't have a smooth action. A spring can.

There are a few quartz with smooth sweeps. The new accutrons do, though not nearly as smooth as the originals (16Hz last I checked). There's the omega electroquartz, and a seiko model which iirc uses a dampening spring (forget the movement number).

Actually here, the seiko movement was the 5S21.

youtube.com/watch?v=nqqs6sGfsus

Is there any reason to buy anything other than a quartz movement? What's the point in spending hundreds more on a less accurate and inherently heavier/bulkier design?

>inherently heavier/bulkier design?
Not necessarily.

Why would I spend 20x the price of a high end quartz of similar thickness to get a less accurate, more failure prone watch?

What's with this retarded bait?

Yeah posting a $25,000 watch sure showed him what for.

Price wasn't the point, mechanical watches are not necessarily always heavier or bulkier.

Watch out, there's bait in these waters.

>watch out

I see what you did there

I'm looking for a watch for a lady. Must have a second hand, must be red/rose gold color (as red as you can get), and it must not tick. Automatic is fine, but something that I don't have to worry about reliability I'd better. I couldn't find a bulova that doesn't tickets in a similar style as pic related. If it can be under 600CAD, that'd be great. I found pic and link related, but maybe there's something different. I also need a grey leather strap and a mother of pearl face is a plus.

Anyone pointers?

us.tissotshop.com/women/classic-watches/tissot-chemin-des-tourelles-lady-powermatic-80-7.html

*any pointers

If they really wanted "toughness" they should just use acrylic, which will crack instead of shatter, no? I think it's just a cost saving measure.

It's Watchcheck. It just helps you set & log your watch's performance by comparing it to the last measure as well as to nist/gps time, and calculates a daily rate for you. You can note the position/temperature/etc. for any period of measurement ("worn", "horizontal dial up", etc.) to see if that affects time keeping. You can set up a profile for each watch if you have multiple.

Fell for the G-shock GW-M561O. Couldn't be happier.

You could be happier if you had bought the GW5000

this but nice watch anyway.

What is the A.EL

>come back to /wt/
>still Seiko circlejerking and quartz vs mechanical trolling
Nice. So what are you wearing today?

Toughness and hardness are two different things. Sapphire is hard so it doesn't scratch but isn't tough so it shatters.

For fun

Anyone have experience buying from Tiger Concept? I'm looking for a cheap Miyota 9015 beater watch. Are these any good?

Is 34mm too small even for bitch wrists?

42mm watches usually hit the very edges of my wrists.

No.

34mm is normal Rolex oyster perpetual size. Generally mens is anything 30mm+

Your wrists would have to be supernaturally bitch to want under 30mm

To add on here, that's for traditionally shaped watches.

Something like the original reverso is down to 24mm wide, but still pushing within a few of 40mm tall
