Not OP, but I have a similar setup. And yes, a tiling window manager of some sort.
The only time I see my desktop is right after booting or right before shutting down. Exposed desktop = wasted pixels. I haven't even taken the time to get a correctly sized image because I never remember to. I just pulled this one off my laptop.
I personally use xmobar+xmonad+dmenu to run shit.

It has nothing to do with ricing, it has to do with basic knowledge of technology.
"which screenfetch" will tell you where screenfetch is installed.
Screenfetch is a shell script, you edit it by opening it in a text editor, for example gedit
sudo gedit $(which screenfetch)
You should be able to figure out how to edit the color of the logo if you're not retarded, good luck.
