Thank you for a non shit OP.
Also, anime isn't real kiddo.
Give me advice on this
PortaPro or Creative Aurvana Live?
Is the Audio Technica M20X worth it?
I don't really go on /hpg/ but my old headset is cracking and I figured out i'm fed up with headsets. Would prefer some knowledge on mod mics and if they're worth it.

It needs to be comfy enough to not hurt my fucking ears during long listening sessions (8+ hours). That's it.

Sennheiser PC 350 SE are the ones i'm using right now. They sound fine to me, but I'm a pleb. However, I'm planning on buying headphones this time and maybe using a modmic as I stated earlier. I just don't know if that's really a good setup.
I added foam to my HD598's and it actually made it sound quite good. I no longer need to use the equalizer to get the sounds balanced out. Its semi-open air still with two air holes in each earpiece but that is just so the driver is working good.
I can take pictures if anyone is interested. I'm sure it'd work on a HD555 or anything like it.
hi guys. I am in need of a new pair of headphones.

as light as possible would be nice; soft earpads would be great too. i tend to get headaches and migraine very easily and often, so amplifying it with ill fitting or too heavy headphones is not a good idea.

and I know it is frowned upon, but i am kind of thinking about purchasing the senheiser momentum 2.0 over-ear headphones. so... does anyone have any experience with those?
thanks in advance!
Are you me?
Perhaps. I just don't know anything about headphones. I'm currently looking at the Sony MDRV6. Are those good headphones for the price?
Pads on those are shallow and probably won't be comfortable for long sessions, especially if you have larger ears.

I've been a headset pleb all my life, trying to stop being retarded.
ive got a pair of electrostatics headphones and I want a mic, will a modmic fuck stuff up with the magnet? Should I just grab a clip/desk mic?
audio technica ath-900x/z with a1000 pads or mrspeakers alpha pads (the latter being the best, but more expensive and harder to install)
very comfortable, very big though, look at videos
modmic is inconvenient and annoying
What do you guys think of these? Heard they could take a beating
What's the most vaporwave headphone?
>electrostatic
>magnet
They don't normally use magnets, electrets aside. That wouldn't be a concern. They're the only type of headphone that you can use near an NMR.
CAL! has a little isolation. Portapro has none.
Cal! has more extended bass as well, both are kinda bassy. I'd advise the Creative set.
Do you know if CAL! would be comfortable to wear with glasses?
I have smaller ears, and can deal with slight uncomfortability if it sounds good and is rather sturdy.
I've had these for about 2 years. I've been babying them a little bit since they are the most expensive in-ears I've bought, they seem sturdy though.
The sound is great, but I don't have much to compare to other than the research I did googling and trying out other brands in the store.
PLEASE respond, I want to look cool and hip at my next music meet
>What do you guys think of these?
Not as relevant since the MA750 is a thing and is overall better
>beating
I think the plastic tube at the end as a chance to break.
It does sound good and it's probably as sturdy as it gets in the price range.
I had mine for years now and, besides the pads, everything else works flawlessly, the stock pads did caused some minor discomfort, but they didn't last long anyway (my v6 sees some pretty heavy use), got Auray Sheep Skin pads to replace them, turns out these are not only more durable, but more comfortable and better at isolating too.
Looking at a Sennheiser HD 598 for €160, mostly gonna be used for gaming. Is there anything better at this price point? Comfort is pretty important and IEM's don't do it for me.
Ok, I didn't even think about replacing the pads. Probably a done buy for me then. Thanks /hpg/ you never fail me.
thank you very much! i'll look into those!

hd558, did all I wanted it to do until it broke. Looking for something a bit more premium in build quality. Been looking into MDR1A(150€) and Fidelio X2(220€). I'm pretty undecided in open or closed phones, is the difference that big in vidya, shows and movies? alternatives to these?

Hello friends.
I'm looking to get a budget tier mic that isn't terrible to go with my headphones. More specifically one that is resilient to ambient noise.
Back when I purchased my ATH-M50 2 years ago I got the Zalman ZM mic-1 that clips on to the headphone cord. I used it for a few days but that thing picks up everything and my mechanical keyboard is pretty loud. Used a shit $12 headset till now for voice which kinda sucks and nig-rigging it with an inexpensive mic is really uncomfortable.
I have questions not about buying headphones.
Best/most useful source gear for up to $600?
I want portability that leaves room for further headphone upgrades.
Axon 7 is great audio quality at $400. I will use it as a DAP with a smartphone attached.
Mojo obvious mention, $400-$450 used, definitely good for future upgrades but not as portable (have to connect to phone or something, carry that around).
dragonfly red/black for $75-$175 used, cheapest option, greatest room for headphone upgrade.
Suggestions?
Reminder to have good source audio components.
>Axon 7 is great audio quality at $400. I will use it as a DAP with a smartphone attached.
What happened to the HTC 10 idea?
How would you know anything about the Axon 7?
>Mojo obvious mention, $400-$450 used, definitely good for future upgrades but not as portable (have to connect to phone or something, carry that around).
Definitely more voltage and current to it. There are a few other portable suggestions. But, take a look at the various insensitive headphones and see if you really want to take them on the go.
>dragonfly red/black for $75-$175 used, cheapest option, greatest room for headphone upgrade.
Not much of a reason to the Black. Red does not look that great either.
Your setup is shit.
Reminder to use image search before posting dumb shit.
>not TH900s
why even bother?

What do you use then, my lord?
Superior Japanese audio electronics
These HD280s are the first pair of decent headphones I have bought.
How do these compare to other headphones in this price range ($100-$200)
I also have an XLR AT2020 that I have hooked up to a pretty ok interface
>HTC 10
I decided the $200 price different wasn't worth it, given what else I can do for $200. If I considered the v10, the price difference is $300
And the sale ended today, so it's actually $300 difference now between the Axon 7 and $400 between v10.
I've only read specs and reviews, scoured forums for audiophiles who have it. But I haven't heard ANY of these items yet. Just narrowing down options before I go through the hassle of finding demos or ordering and returning/reselling.
>on the go
I figured I have three portable scenarios:
most demanding movement - motorcycling/jogging/quick walks to corner store. I'll use monk plus and whatever source, probably phone.
Somewhat demanding:
Listening in public places, long walks, in between classes, travelling.
Stationary:
Studying in my room, gaming, you get it.
Phone works in all three categories, Mojo and similar purchases in the second two, USB dac is cheapest option and in all 3.
Could you elaborate on why not to go with the Black/Red? My music tastes change pretty fluidly so I want a versatile setup, dunno if that actually means anything.
i won't fall for your memes again Sup Forums
>What's the new cheap meme IEM?
Rock Zircon? You should just prob get pistons again or KZs
Germany > Japan.
Not even the SR-009 can beat a lowly mid-fi HD600. Japan status = rekt.
These look familiar.
>HD600
>good
pick one sennshill
true that
Germany is better than Japan because beyer exists
There aren't any brick-and-mortar stores or anything near me where I can test out different combinations of gear, and buying/returning gets expensive fast if there are restocking fees.
I figured I could buy and sample used gear, then resell for a marginal higher cost to cover what I would pay in shipping. If I do this in greater volume, I could also offer sampling to people in my area in similar predicaments.
How feasible is this? I've seen used gear go pretty low, but the reselling is where I see issues.

The only "girl" I know that's into audio is a trap so...
Can portable speakers keep up with headphones?
Woulda 80quid jbl3 flip be even close to my 110quid dt990 with a fioo dac?
I mean since its a speaker more budget ahould go to sound quality compared to a headphone, but bluetooth speakers seem like ameme item

Build is nice, not extremely sturdy but you won't have to worry about breaking them in normal use. Fit and comfort is good, form factor is nice and they isolate really well. They are very bassy, overly bassy in my opinion which makes them sound muddy and thick.
