Depends on the language desu.
English doesn't have clear rules for pronouncing words, so it makes sense to just say it the way people around you say it. My mother tongue, for example, has every possible sound mapped to a letter, so new words can be written the same way they're meant to be pronounced, the only difference comes when people have different accents.
