Gtx 1060 vs 1070 for 1080p

Yo Sup Forums I want to be able to max shit out at 60fps running on 1920x1080. I also want to be able to work with resolve. Would it be better to go with a 1070 and pay the extra money?

Also my cpu is a little dated and will probably bottleneck somewhat.

1060 can do 1440p at 60 constantly, so it will do 60fps 1080p fine.

lol no it can't do 1440p60fps

Go look up some benchmarks instead of being an uninformed retard.

why don't you provide me sources instead? you claim it can do 1440p60fps but I dont believe you

A 1060 is about the same power as a gtx 970, which can totally do 60fps1080, so I would just go with that one. If you wanted to upgrade to 1440p gaming in the future however, then get a 1070.

My GTX 960 can do 1440p Ultra at 60fps no issue, i dont play much else though.

If you wanna play every game ultra @ 1080p60fps you're gonna need a 1070 for sure

1070 is overkill for 1080p. Get the 1060.

you are fucking trolling

Go with the 1060. Unless you want to upgrade to 4k the 1060 is already as powerful as a stock 980

Titan X or bust

1070 will be outdated garbage in 2 years thanks to gimpvidia, go 1060, will also be garbage but is less expensive

The best choice is the third option: rx480. If you're patient then just wait for the rx490.

1060 is really good for 1080p

I would only go 1070 if you plan on keeping your GPU for 4+ years

>A 1060 is about the same power as a gtx 970

Actually 1060 is far better than that, it's as good as a 980

480 is really bad compared to 1060

Not in DX12/Vulkan, which is the future.

I don't understand. I'm not that guy but my 2gb 960 does everything at 60fps and I have 5860x1080 set up.....

I get 84fps avg in fo4

1060 is just 1070 without sli+ extra fps
but if you want future proof
dx12,vulcan:rx 480

OP here, rest of the system would need to be updated to run 4k so I'll just get the 1060. Thanks for help guys.

also I have nothing against AMD but I need the cuda cores to run Resolve.

no you don't.

>We promise games will use 8 cores in no time at all
>AMD chips twice the price get BTFO by an i3

>We promise this new APU will benefit every game with every AMD card
>Does small increase for very few games

>We promise bulldozer will equal intel's current and future offerings!
>Doesn't

>We promise the 480 will be a great contender at the price!
>Isn't
>Also draws over spec from pcie power

>We promise vulkan is the future of pc gaming! Buy AMD so you can enjoy vulkan!

Why do you keep believing their shit? Every time it turns out to be a lie you shit heads just make up excuses like "No, they meant next time they'd finally tell the truth!".

>1060 is just 1070 without sli+ extra fps
You're actually fucking retarded.

1060 is actually faster than a 480 in Vulkan

AMD is such a scummy company. Would never buy shit from those liars.

nice digits.

what doesn't help in the situation is the AMD fanboys that generate unwarranted hype prior to release and then damage control after, even more than AMD do themselves.

ayase a best.
go for the gtx1060

absolutely not i own gtx 1060 for 3 weeks and i barely have 60fps in w3, 60-80 fps in just cause 3 (with drops to 40fps), ROTTR 40-80fps (and that's just high settings)

Vulkan is DOA and Nvidia is doing fine in DX12

Gtx 1060 > Rx 480

that's why i converted from buying amd cpus to intel pcus and 3 weeks ago to buying nvidia gpus from amd gpus

you just can't trust amd anymore those days, nvidia and intel also does shaddy shit but at least their gpu perform as they advertized (gtx 1070 has performance of titan/gtx 980ti and gtx 1060 = gtx 980)

I can run DOOM at 60fps Ultra settings on a 960 with an i5 processor

Why is any of this necessary?

no it's not, i own gtx 1060 and it's ~10fps slower, but who cares i was playing at 90-150fps with 8x AA

I can max out doom on ultra and 1080p with a gtx780 and an amd fx 6000 series 6 core.
