Am I insane if I expect an android 6.0 marshmallow update for the redmi note 3 pro? Don't let me down, based chinks

Yes, that's what Cyanogen is for, man.

but cm is shit my amigo. It's a great concept but in reality it doesn't work. They just can't optimize the software as well as the original devs do. The camera always takes worse pics as well on cm.

Do most phones come preinstalled with clean master? If yes, can I uninstall them without root?

What's so bad about an iPhone if I just want to use GPS, texting, calling, browser and mail?

Most phones don't. If they do you need root to uninstall them.

Nothing but those features can be found on other smartphones at less cost.

Currently have the LG 3 and its the biggest POS I have ever had. Currently looking for a phone less then $300 USD. Looking for call, text, 4g and GPS. I need a reliable GPS for some reason my LG 3 has trouble with gps... Currently with US Cellular but want a phone I can take anywhere since my contract is up in 2 months. Thanks for the help! From what I have read so far im thinking moto g4 or g4 plus

Nothing really. My dislike of Apple stemmed from previous iPhones that had screens that were not only tiny, but also cracked after a single drop. It didn't help that they were (and still are) very expensive, and that the cheapest models only had 16GB and were still too pricey

Can I make the icons smaller on the desktop of a Moto G3?
I have android 6.

looking for a new phone in the next month or so
>country
US
>carrier
verizon
>wanted features
good screen
sleek looking ui
battery that will reliably last the day
decently fast charging
android
preferably not chink or lg, on the fence with samsung
>budget
not a concern
>size
screen should be 5+ inches

I've had an S4 for 3 years.
I think iPhones are more convenient. I do admit I resent their lack of freedom and autism, but it's still convenient.
I don't like the fact that the lowest is 16GB, too.
I'm pretty happy with the s4 but if I'm going to get a new phone may as well make it one that's convenient.

>he fell for the xiaomeme

IIRC there was a leaked 6.0 beta posted a few days ago. I think it will get 6.0 with MiUi 8 in the end of the month.

>Moto G4
>$300
No
theverge.com/2016/7/11/12147782/moto-g4-plus-review-android

>Performance is sluggish to the point of being offensive

> Even at $199, the Moto G should not be this slow and unfriendly to its user.

Galaxy S7/S7 Edge or HTC 10
Nexus 5X or Xiaomeme Redmi Note 3 Pro

Thank you that was an honest review!

My issue with iPhones is people are willing to pay a premium price for standard features. The phones themselves are fine.

is there no Average dick?

Im thinking of leaving and switching to an iPhone.

I want to be a normie Sup Forums

Well I'm searching around and figured I'd cop the iPhone SE.
It's definitely overpriced but I just want a fucking phone that works and I don't have to rice

My browsers keep getting hijacked whenever I go to Sup Forums.org.
Shit's fucking annoying, looks like I'll have to do a factory reset.

"your phone has (13)serious virus"

Fuck you, god damn phones.

The is no reason for a smartphone thread. Every fucking one is exactly the same shit anyway.

The same fucking slab...over and over and over again.

So guys, I like a big screen and dual speakers on the face. Been using the Nexus 6 for about 2 years now, anything new either those features? Was hoping to get the new Nexus but I read that it won't be a six inch phone. I have massive hands and the phone fits real nice in my hands so I'm hoping to get something close to it. Any suggestions?

I cant remove one contact of mine from my sim card.

I out it many years ago with another phone, but now want it out and i cant. I am currently using Android

>The is no reason for a ̶s̶m̶a̶r̶t̶p̶h̶o̶n̶e̶ thinkpad/headphone/Mechanical Keyboard/ Home screen threads. Every fucking one is exactly the same shit anyway.

Clover.

SE is a good choice. All the power to you.

first post that's ever been nice to me
thanks user
have a good day

>got a HTC 10 for $250 under MSRP

I have an opportunity to get Moto X 2014 for dirty cheap - half of Moto X Pure/Style price.

Is it worth it? How's this phone doing today? I know that camera is meh, but I don't use it anyway. My current phone is Galaxy S5 running on CM13, but it's buggy as fuck, and I'm sick of the plastic.

Need a cheap phone. Is the Cubot Note S ok?

does anyone know how s7 edge's audio quality is with earphones?

HT17 Pro>Cubot Note S.

Is the the Sup Forums wiki the place to look for /spg/ approved apps, or do you guys have an infograph or something that is more up to date?

which android file explorer should I get?

Amaze/Solid are good

Solid explorer and FX explorer.

Thanks user.

root explorer or solid explorer

Ill get a phone in december
which one should I look out for for ~500$
right now it would be oneplus 3 right? Im guessing therell be better newer alternatives then.

hell no. kek

ask in december.

If the Nexus phones aren't ludicrously priced they'll easily compete with the OP3
V20 might be alright

Almost no 6 inch phones on the market, the only I know is this one amazon.com/gp/product/B01IO9XZZA/ and it's not much of an upgrade over your Nexus 6.
Not much of an upgrade over the S5, but if you're tired of Sammy, it's a good choice
Oneplus 3 and the new Nexus devices

Looking for a cheap, compact smartphone. My Galaxy Note 1 with Cyanogenmod 11 is in its death throes. I thought the big screen would be nice, but I only use it for podcasts, Whatsapp and Youtube, very very rarely for webbrowsing. My budget is around 100 Euro, so far I've looked at the Sony Xperia SP, LG Spirit and Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen. I don't want to compromise on the form factor, so 5" is already too big, 4.7" is on the edge. Which smartphone should I get?

Mi Max.

.Sony Xperia SP, LG Spirit and Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen
These are all horrible.
Get a Redmi 3s or Vernee Thor. both 100 Euro.

kimovil.com/en/compare/vernee-thor,xiaomi-redmi-3s-16gb

what is the fastest phone out? seriously my LG v10 is so slow when I browse and have other music going

Just ordered my first smartphone and I went full redmeme. The only thing that kinda worries me is the 5.5 screen but I should get used to that pretty quickly I would think. That's it I don't have anything else do add to the discussion.

Their specs are nice, but they're almost as big as my old Galaxy Note :(

5" is small nowadays. no one makes 4.7" phones anymore.
Sony Z3/5c are the only other options.

What's the ROM support for that phone like?

Oh fuck I just saw a comparison between the max and Nexus 6, a bit too big but it looks damn nice. I suppose the xperia is still good

It has unofficial CM13 and resurrection remix running. 6.4" is too big though imho.

How terrible is total commander?

I got Lumia 550 and my usecase is pretty similar to yours. I paid like 80 euros for mine, 4,7" 720p screen and LTE connectivity. Enough for me, it has all the apps I need(spotify, ssh, e-mail and whatsapp and facebook messenger to keep up with normie friends). Onedrive is okay for sharing the files and onenote works well enough for quick notes.
>inb4 botnet2000

Bumpo

A repost, but I got answers for either the Axon 7 or OP3.
Any Canadian users have either? Any input in general?

///////////

Ok I've been struggling for months and I'm losing my mind. I just need a mid tier phone (preferably purchasable in Canada and non contract- but I can do US shipping to my friends) that can do the following:

>Typical social apps: Snapchat/Facebook/IG

>Whatsapp/Texts

>WiFi Spotify / YouTube

>Battery life over 4hrs SOT

>Multitasking to be decent (so minimum 2GB RAM?)

>No Gaming except for Pokemon GO at the moment

>Maximum $400 USD / $530 CAD

>MicroSD not necessary

>Decent phone speakers, not very important

I can have my phone shipped to the States if necessary (friend lives there) but I worry about warranty/repairs if the phone has problems here in Toronto so I'd rather not.

>looking for a new phone
>everyone recommends the s7
>traumatised after the s5
>I want great performance that keeps it pace and does not slow down half a year later
>damn you Samsung

>what do?

Not sure if I can give up on root access. Systemwide Adblock and the F-Droid app repository are quite nice. Some apps like Twilight (Redshift for Android) also require root for better integration.

Moto X Play or Moto G4? Same price.

Moto G4 no doubt.

OP3.
youtube.com/watch?v=SRXJR-hLSuA

Regarding this img for a mid-tier budget,
what's the benefit of the 6p's stock android over non stock's op3? Also, what about the 6p's updates over the op3's?

Would it affect someone with average phone usage like ?

>Moto G4 no doubt.
What about rumored overheating?

Chance of a One Plus phone breaking after a year? I have a 3 arriving in the mail and Im wondering if I should keep it even if I like it in the 15 day free-returns-shipping span.

Yup, that's really the downside of it, I guess. Like I said, my app/screen on use is pretty minimal so it works for me. And to be honest didn't even consider the redshift angle(even tough I run it on my computer anyway), and losing root acces of your phone is pretty big thing, yeah. You might also have some luck with chinkphones, even tough the most talked about models tend to be over 5" so I'm not too sure about are smaller phones rootable. Check out the wiki on subject: wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Chink_shit_general/Phones

SD617 in the Moto G4 is the fixed version of the SD615 in the Moto X Play. they are both shit, but the SD617 less so.

Other than that it's a newer phone, better cameras etc.

>looking to upgrade from the note 4
>AT&T USA, I'm okay with unlocked phones as well just as long as they support sim cards from AT&T
>great battery life is a must close enough to the Note 4-5's battery and the Xperia phones.
>budget is up to $600
>rom support 1-2 solid roms is okay
>not much gaming involved, might emulate some games here and there but nothing too hardcore
>MicroSD slot is heavily preferred
>don't care about speakers much
>3 GB ram yes please
>I multitask a lot
>main apps I use are Twitch, MXPlayer, Foobar, Poweramp, Youtube, Chrome, Discord, Skype
>doesn't care about the quality of selfie camera

s7 edge

Has Samsung improved their game after the s5?

>less bloatware
>faster day to day usage?

Yeah, they have. Samsung's reliability and battery life were prettty incosistenct for the S3-S5 phones for some reason but they stepped up their game massively with the S6-S7 releases.

Man i'm scared.
The price of the s7 dropped to around 500 bucks where I live and it looks really good + is top tier on every smartphone ranking.
I just don't want to get disappointed again.
The s5 served me good for half a year and got really slow afterwards.
And I've waited like 8 month for the 6.0 update because carriers here fuck everything up

I feel you man. There's still plenty of amazing phones outside of the galaxy ones. You're not interested in anything else?

I'm looking for something better than my moto g (2014)

I have around $150-200, and use the 30$ tmobile plan that used to be real popular

Should I get an older used flagship or a chinkphone? any specific phone suggestions?

The 3 things I really care about are expandable storage, battery life, and good rom (xda, ect) support

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

...

Of course!
Budget does not matter since I can still get one through my contract.

>I thought about waiting for the new nexus devices
> iphone (just maybe prolly not because they removed the headphone jack, but I always had good experiences)
>Is the note 7 worth a consideration or too similar to the galaxy line?
>I could get off my current contract, get a cheaper one and buy the OP3 in their. Might save me a few bucks but it doesn't have to come down to money to be honest

In their store*

You could get the iPhone if you want to avoid all the headaches, stress and have an instant, great out of the box phone.

I wouldn't say it's similar considering the Note phones have been more consistent compared to the galaxy lines. I own the Note 4 and have a relatives that owns the 5. Both of ours hasn't slowed down at all for the past 1+ year of usage. Mine has a custom rom installed, his doesn't and it feels a lot noticeably faster than mine.

I've also heard great things about the One Plus 3. Great rom support + battery life as well so it's just a coin flip decided for you honestly.

The Note 7 probably won't have rom support for awhile if you're into that whereas you already have impressions you can read up on for the OP3.

One last thing I want to point out is when the Note 4 and 5 released they were consistently in the top 3 of everyone's list from a reviewers point of view so I'm confident that the Note 7 will be up there again.

That sounds really good! I'm not that into Roms to be honest. I don't wanna harm the warranty and I'm too scared to brick the phone, so no Roms would not bother me.
Has touchwizz improved btw? Or is it still a giant mess like before. I think the only thing really holding me back is software support.
If Samsung would just care as much about their phones software as Apple did, they would he the perfect company I guess. Since tweaking on my own isn't really my thing I highly rely on them.

>nevertheless the giant screen is awesome
>wouldn't mind owning a phablet
>stylus could come in handy too

Man I love and I hate decisions. I love to read about every phone informing myself about everything, watching reviews and all the good stuff.
But actually deciding for one is horryifing since I don't want to end up making a mistake

I was just watching a video on it. Apparently you can even write on the touchwiz with your pen when it's inches deep in water which is pretty funny lol.

Owning a phablet is awesome man, the Note 7 is apparently a tiny bit smaller than the iPhone 6+.

I'd suggest learning to tweak it one day! You can just install stock apps that could help minimize processes and what not and rooting and installing roms should not brick your phone is you just follow the instructions. XDA is great for all this and plenty of videos out there to walk you through.

I should definetly check it out.. yeah.
I mean It can't be that hard.
Anyways thanks for all your help, user!
Once I get the phone (whichever it'll be) I'll write a review about it here to give you guys a quick overview from a very picky guy. I'm really favouring the note 7 now. One thing that I definetly have to give Samsung is that they really improved the looks of their phones!
Alright thanks for everything!

This is coming from an iPhone 6S user: do not get an iPhone, ever. It's the worst phone you could possibly own. I only got mine because I was curious about all the hype my friends were making. It turns out it's unusable without jailbreak which puts your data in grave danger and in the end still does not supplement an iPhone enough to be worth it as a usable phone imho.

1st time Android got a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro. What apps are a must. Benefits of rooting and must haves on that end of things?

I hear IMUI is actually pretty good.

Thanks in advance.

G5 or HTC 10
Wait for the V20 if you don't want a phone right now

I feel sorry for you user. Hope you hang in there somehow.

I recently had to transfer torrented movies into my little brother's iPad. It took me literal hours, I shit you not and the reliable way to transfer it was through wifi with some shitty app.

Never again.

Is there a retard guide for using sunshine with the HTC 10? I'm on verizon and I'm pretty sure I have to use sunshine, then twrp, and supersu.

read the xda forums then search it up on youtube

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I think the YouTube tutorials are outdated though, they're not for the verizon version.
