Android only got just one generation of 4:3 aspect ratio tablets

>Android only got just one generation of 4:3 aspect ratio tablets
Why tho? The only tablets that I can remember that aren't cheap chinkshit are Nexus 9, Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Samsung is introducing 16:10 aspect ratio tablets again this year.

;_; I just want 4:3 for muh PDF textbooks

we need to go wider, ultra wide display

>21:10
How can you hold one of those with one hand

Tablets are useless

Try chink tablets, I believe Teclast has these Android tablets built for Reading which has this particular aspect ratio.

wah I was going to get a tablet.
I cant even read pdf books on a tablet?
wtf

Android is useless and there are plenty of chink 4:3 windows tablets with awesome ips 2K screens.

Can't seem to find any chink tablets running android 6.0

>what are e-readers

>textbooks
>on a shitty e-ink display
>on a shitty 6-7inch display
>on a shitty reader with sluggish ui

android tablets are for lower class normies just like windows laptops and all lower class normies do on tablets is watch netflix and porn

>Nexus 7 2013
only good tablet bang for buck, everything else is either too expensive or it has been abandoned.
I believe the nvidia shield is the next best thing, none are 16:10 tablets, and are less than 8"

Teclast makes 2048x1536 10" tablets that dualboot Windows and Android, I'm sure they're not the only one.

>android
>dualboot
>tablet

>tablet thread
>about the Android variant
It's exactly what OP's asking for.
>dualboot is bad
How retarded are you?

How about the Pixel C?

>dualboot
>good

el oh fucking el

Would you mind explaining why? I'd love to laugh at you some more.

>let me just turn off my computer so I can use my computer

>having a choice of operating systems is worse than being stuck with a cellphone OS
0/10 troll

anything is better than having the option of using android

Like I said, 0/10 troll

you do know that adding the word "shitty" to something doesn't actually make it shitty?

>e-ink display
oh no I get no eye strain and masive battery life, someone protect me from this shittyness

>6-7 inch display
confortable to carry around and big enough to read. Also there are larger e-readers too you know, like pic related.

>sluggish UI
you mispelled "bloat free". Also: battery life.

kys

it's not a troll if it's the truth

So it's a troll

what is?

You

Putting Android on a ebook reader?

How fucking stupid is this.

Any Windows apps that work well with touch?

have a (You) ;^)

basically any UWP app, so no

The Pixel C is 16:10

And I just went from an iPad mini to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 which are both 4:3 and 4:3 is a dumb resolution to use on a device that's made for media consumption.

I'm starting to realize I have less and less use for a tablet anyways, I've tried using my tablet as a laptops with keyboards and shit but I might as well just get an actual laptop or a 2 in 1 then.

very, but there are alternatives.

>4:3 is a dumb resolution to use on a device that's made for media consumption.
Given most of the media I consume is 4:3, I'd have to disagree. Besides, 16:10 is the best aspect ratio if you're looking for a media consumption device as it's a nice compromise between 4:3 and 16:9

>tablets
You're old and tech illiterate anyways, just get an iPad.

>big enough to read
So you use children's textbooks?

>tfw no combination e-ink/oled screen tablet with a stylus
All I want to do is take notes in the future

I know but the Pixel C is the only decent Android tablet and I didn't want to get another iPad, but I don't know if the Pixel C is worth 500 dollaridoos

>using the smiley with a carat nose

Are you kidding? There are plenty of tablets that are decent. Not only do they run Android, but you also get the choice of running Windows too, and can switch between the two whenever you'd like.

History student here.

I read tons of pdfs - articles, books, primary documents, etc - and would kill for a good 4:3 tablet.

No e-readers, thanks. Gotta annotate and highlight and shit. Also gotta get that shit on my computer asap.

Also, cuz I'm a grad student, I'm fucking POOR.

Suggestions?

16:10 is closer to the golden ratio.

And 4:3 is still better for certain tasks, see

Maybe should've choosen a far more employable course instead :^)

kek
Enjoy unemployment kiddo.

I'm IN the "course," you fucknugget.

I'll be fine, getting a PhD puts me ahead of everyone else and I've got loads of experience.

Not here to take career advise from NEETs anyway. Just want a chinkpad.

Being awfully defensive for some reason? :^)

Wait.

am I having a discussion with a child right now?

Whatever you say kid. Just don't ask too much from welfare.

Ok, I won't.

Now which 4:3 android tablet is viable in the year 2016?

Everyone has PhDs nowadays, you're trying too hard to be a special snowflake.

Nexus 9 was chink shit build quality. Flex, backlight bleed, flickering, screen touched itself, holy fuck it was bad.

Read the sticky.

Fuggg iPads are great for working with ebooks and pdfs. Too bad apple fucking sucks.

I don't think I have ever regretted a tech purchase as much as I do my Nexus 9. All the things you listed plus it just seems to run slower and have more random pauses than my old 2013 N7 ever did. And then there is also the fact that its had multiple delayed updates thanks to that Tegra chipset.

tabletmonkeys.com/new-tablets/
Samsung galaxy e 9.6, tab a 8 and 10.1, tab a 10.1 with s pen, etc

The Microsoft Surface Pro (TM) doesn't have this problem. :^)
