no
Thank you sir for such a precise answer...
You mean that the asus as no challengers ?
bump ! interested
there is the asus e200ha, right ?
yeah but the e200ha might have the same issue with Linux than the x205ta
what's the problem with this one?
it barely handles Linux/GNU, for example the sound isn't working (due to the UEFI boot i think)
just get a thinkpad
you can get one with a core i5 for the same price as this laptop on ebay, and it will fully support linux
You asking a question or making a statement?
It was a question.
I already have a x220 (ubuntu) but i want something lighter
the sound ?
yes, it seems that the sound isn't working at all
I bought it for using linux based system on it.
But yea i tried various distros but no success
1 wasted one day on arch, after a reboot the wifi never worked again,
ubuntu - slow, bloat, maybe ill try with xubuntu
gentoo - from the live cd which they provide, the input stuff and the internal mmc card wasnt working, but no luck
lfs - kernel wont boot (i dont know exactly what was the problem with the compiled kernel)
chromiumos- cannot fix the touchpad
solus- wont boot some kernel modules missing
etcetc
if you waste a lot of time on it you can fix everything, execpt the sound
bugzilla.kernel.org
but also a nice guide for arch
github.com
which distros ?
that's it, that is why I'm looking for another laptop with the avantages of the x205ta
at the end you're looking for a cheap macbook air ?
well... yes...
Currently im trying to sell my x205ta and buy a xiaomi air maybe, it the closest one to a macbook.
may I ask why you get ride of your x205ta ?
xiaomi air ? that sounds like a laptop based chinese shit to me
does it handle Linux/GNU ?
well idk
saw a thread here that said it wouldnt even allow another boot
chinese winshit version 10 is locked on
fuccccckkkk
it seemed too good to be true
bump
another answer ?
Thinkpad 13
A bit too expensive I think.
The problem is the 32-bit BIOS, find one with a 64-bit BIOS and you are set.
Got the e200ha. ITS Bretty good for w10. It seems to have the same problems. How realistic is it that it will get fixed?
It appear it is. The e200ha has a 64bit but has the same sound/touchpad problem
there is x205ta with 64 bits ???
so the issue didn't come from the 32-bits BIOS, fuck
Secure boot is pwned now though so it doesn't matter
False. You can just boot from USB like normal.
that's cool
>asus
you're a retard
>can it handle Linux?
holy shit, you're autistic
>laptop that thin being able to process anything substantial
You're beyond saving, user.
So no alternative for the asus x205ta for the same price ?
So because we're all autistic and retarded, you may let your higher smartness shine upon us and answer the question without trolling.
Regardless, your mom
>laptop that thin being able to process anything substantial
You're beyond saving, user.
