It's not about audio, it's about UI and user comfort. If you give a shit about how it looks or how easy it is to find what you're looking for.
that's what Album List Panel (mentioned in my first reponse) is for (foo_uie_albumlist)
When it's in the components folder you should see "Album List" under Insert Panel->Panels
once it's there you can right click in the panel to sort what it views

It's okay. Pretty minimal on features, and the UI is a bit iffy. I generally like its simplicity though. It's better than gnome's default music player.
