>buying anything from jewtel

nope

yeah, those texas instruments CPUs sure are great

I have a jewtel CPU right now but you bet your ass when Zen drops I'm dropping jewtel for good

I dont get this, they are just a company like any other, and the primary goal of a company is to make money. You are deluding yourself if you think that AMD cares any more about you than Intel, the only reason they seem to is because they have to stay highly competitive with Intel.

I want to wait for the 2nd or 3rd gen. Early days but a new player is good.

Every intel chip I've ever known, going back 20 years, if you thrash it they die.
Every amd chip since then, if you thrash it, they still live. It's like they're fucking immortal. I don't care if they benchmark slightly less, buying intel has always been a false economy for me.

This could be a good thing. I love my Vive but the cable isn't fun to deal with.
Intel seems to be using a mounting system a lot like the PSVR, which is interesting.

If there's anything VR needs right now, it's affordable devices that are good enough to watch porn on. Nothing else will "save" VR tbqh.

>wireless
fucking finally

I think they're open sourcing it as well. That's pretty neat. I don't plan to fall for the VR meme anytime soon, I'd rather they have incredibly high resolution screens and cards that can actually run them. Leenoox support is also taking its damn time.

>mfw this is just another scheme thats real endgame is to scan the interior of every building in the world

Oh well, sign me up. Ill let the NSA look at my cum rag collection if I can pretend im exploring the floors of an ancient megapalace

>"Sure, the most aggressive, high-end gamers who value the low latency of tethered systems will continue to enjoy those systems
So in normal terms; Enjoy your latency guys, it's going to be noticeable.
>affordable devices that are good enough to watch porn on
Google cardboard would like to have a word with you.

>cardboard
It's not the same, senpai. Even with a quad-HD screen it's not ideal, plus you get phone overheating and shutting down, it's annoying to control, your battery WILL run out, your storage probably as well, and so on. And neither actual cardboards nor the more sophisticated chinese headsets are fantastic.

>And neither actual cardboards nor the more sophisticated chinese headsets are fantastic.
Oh I know that but user asked for one "good enough" to watch porn. A FULL AYTCH DEE phone should provide an acceptable cardboard porn experience. The 2560x1440 screen of my s6 certainly does, though the sensor drift issue can be more than a little annoying.

Tell that to my q6600.

>Even with a quad-HD screen it's not ideal
More pixels than a VR headset.
>you get phone overheating and shutting down
why'd you buy such a shit phone???
> it's annoying to control
True, but thankfully you dont need to control videos.
>your battery WILL run out
in a few hours you'll have to attach the charger... wow. you'll be tired of the vr meme by then.
> your storage probably as well
nope.

>neither actual cardboards nor the more sophisticated chinese headsets are fantastic
VR isnt fantastic atm.

I have owned quite a mix of hardware throughout the years. I have never been kind to any of it. Poor cooling, hefty overclocks and overvolting enough to make jaws drop and yet only one piece of hardware has died. My current desktop is an a10 7850k, running at 1.57 volts. The only hardware that's died on me so far was a radeon mobility 5850 that was poorly cooled and heavily overclocked. The oven trick probably would have fixed it but at that point it had done its duty.

You don't need over speced cards to run high resolution, all you need is eyetracking and adaptive resolution to the point you are looking at.

AR is the future. VR will never catch on.

From the advanced mind of a 12yr old.

AR is like the shit version of VR, tbqh. I don't want the real world, augmented or not.
