gtx 750ti

Eat shit

GTX 1060 (6GB non reference)
or
RX 480 (8GB non reference)

Pick whichever one is more in stock and less expensive at the time of purchase.

are they both the same performance wise ?

GTX1060 is better with old games (DX11)
RX 480 is better with newer games (DX12)
But i don't get what the point of getting a new gpu to play old games so the RX 480 looks like the better buy

okay thanks a lot

Another thing, try to get the MSI twinfrozr designs of these cards if you can. Coldest cards I've ever had.

eh my setup is mostly black/blue/white id rather stick with the normal rx 480 design

sounds like you should get the rx 480 nitro then

damn that card is slick i will get that then thanks man

Holy shit a Sup Forums thread without endless shilling

Do NOT buy a reference card. Look for the Sapphire nitro, which is chrome. Should fit your "theme".

Also the 1060 does beat the 480 in a few titles by a small margin. Build for now, not for later. DX 12 isn't going anywhere any time soon.

do i have to install win10 to use dx12 tho?

Yes.

Vulkan can be run on anything but good luck, even less games supporting Vulkan than DX12.

Get nvidia if you like to use there control panel a lot. This is the only reason I will never buy an AMD card again

I'm never buying an AMD card again because of the horrendous drivers, at least on my end.

Fucking blue screens, freezes and "display driver stopped responding and was reset" out the ass every couple of days.
Can't vouch for or against the 480 though, or anything newer than the 7870 really, but I don't think I'm going to buy an AMD card for at least the next 3 years, especially when considering how well my old GTX 460 ran (and still does in my nephews rig), and how well my current 1060 performs. /shill

>use gtx 1070 for coworkers build
>install win 10
>install nvidia drivers
>SRY THE WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS FOR NVIDIA ARE NOT COMPATIBLE FOR WINDOWS 10
yeah im never using nvidia again because of stupid bullshit like that

All those GPUs are required to run Crysis 3 at max settings.

Fair enough, I wouldn't either.

As long as it "just werks" nigga.

Please tell me, is the BLACKED edition just marketing bullshit or is it a better buy? They're very similar price so if getting BLACKED is gonna be better in the long run, I'll choose that over the standard.

Read as:
1060 gtx is 15℅ faster in 99% games and RX480 goes even in the remaining one percent which requires botnet OS to run. AMD shilling on Sup Forums is more ridiculous and far-fetched than SJW retards saying there are more than two genders.

no, blue LEDs make your PC cooler and faster
black just turns it into an empty silent void
why would you want a silent pc?

This is untre nvidia has the worst drivers on linux

Perhaps I should clarify.
xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-rx-400-series/rx-480-gtr-8gb-dd-led-rx-480p8dfa6
vs
xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-rx-400-series/rx-480-gtr-black-8gb-dd-led-rx-480p8dba6
$10 price difference. Only difference i see is
Core clock speed of 1288mhz vs 1338
Does that make any difference?

have 480 and it's pretty neat

A small one. 1338/1288=~1.04 So the black edition is about 4% faster under ideal conditions, assuming there are no other bottlenecks anywhere. And if you overclock both, the black edition will probably reach higher clocks.

you can overclock either one regardless..
factory overclocks are just shekel stealers.
so no it makes no difference aside from the cost

overclocking can go either way, generally they use higher binned chips for factory overclocked (bcus that way they can keep the volts stock) but that doesn't mean it can achieve higher stable speeds than its competition.

Vs AMD Linux Drivers both open and not don't run as well on Linux than Nvidia. Nvidia drivers are pretty close to the performance of their Windows driver.

Enjoy your housefires

So I can still overclock with the regular card and meet or exceed the factory OC?

Not OP but gonna spend the extra $150 ish on buying a gtx 1070, In Aus msi cooler rx 480 is $470 and EVGA SC 1070 is $650

Why are you retarded

Idk you tell me

tell us your monitors resolution (and frame rate if you got a >60Hz gaming monitor)

If you want to use it in a long term get a Sapphire R9 480 with 8GB

Yes that's much more money for much less performance

>Yes that's much more money

If you are poor

If you aren't poor why aren't you buyng two new titans

>AMD user
>not poor
Why even ask?

get an integrated card and stop falling for shilling.

I'm not poor, just cheap.

GTX 1060

Also it's way faster than the 480, pic related

...

>one year later your gtx 1060 is going to become outdated
>But user you fucking tard the gtx 1060 is way better then the gaymd rx 480

The 1060 will only get better, while the 480 will just get gimped like AMD always does

>3gb of Vram
>mfw the 7470M is better than the 1060

1060 has 6GB

The irony that it's way faster than the 8GB 480, pic related.

For DX11

>gayms

nvidia is worth the extra money over AMD because their drivers don't suck ass and they have better support

i would definitely get the 1060

avoid gigabyte and asus

>Lies by the tech guys

True facts. Nvidia is just way better supported, not just by the company themselves, but by games too.

huh?
every review states that 1060 is better on like 98% of games
how is the 480 a better buy?

>using win 10
nice b8

a 480 is both more expensive (in the long run) and worse performing than a 1060. just buy a 6gb 1060 op, amd *WILL* give you problems. simple as that.

i bought a 980 at best buy for like 260 the other day

im going to recommend the r9 390x

if DX12 or Vulkan get a RX480

Yes you need W10 for DX12 even if you don't like W10, you will be using it one day.
