I am

I am. That's why most my computer ended up being free :^)

I do, that is why I have no life.

Nice ninja gloves.

is that you Loiis?

Because I like my current 200k a year codemonkey job.

Because a Jew on Jewtube said how stupid it was.

No. He doesn't wear plaid.

Because I'm a neckbeard that can't deal with people.

How do you make money if you can't deal with anyone?

iMac logic board?

damn those black solder masks are pretty!

Selling shit online.

He's the best goddamn manlet jew nigger a guy could ask for.

Because I can do a lot more than some menial, computer know-how. And I'm not convinced that computers are the future. They will soon be outdated.
If you make a living off easily 'repairing' computers with the help of some simple virus removal program and a couple of knock-off drivers and charging exorbitant prices so that you can fund your private experiments and future knowledge of the latest releases and you think this is what you will be doing for the rest of your life like it's a passion - I have some bad news for you.

You've been sold the illusion, not the simple you product YOU ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT.

How do you despatch though? You would need to go to the post office or talk to the mail guy collecting.

but I do

>Meme-tier response about your frustration with my perfectly calm, idgaf attitude

I almost fell for this bait

Computers are not the future? Phew, now my humanities diploma has a chance :^)

I almost thought the first response was going to be some fag insulting my intelligence.
Glad to see it's probably just OP with nothing to do on this lonely Sunday morning like the rest of us.

The answer to why no one repairs computers for a living is because that's not what you should want to do. People want to design their own hardware and language, their own OS and software like the Gods once did. Unless you need a computer to accomplish your work, there isn't much point in working with them unless you actually design them for manufacturers to sell; if you test them; or if you're a salve wage to their production in some Asian country.

Apart from that - and that's just that cover - computers are a hobby to the common layman.
You repair computers like the sad, stinky mechanic changes your transmission fluid when the driver thought their engine died.
And the computer+internet combo is nothing but an all in one entertainment system with ads on every single fucking page of the web.
This technology, admit it, will be dwarfed by medical, bio, and nano technology once our countries don't have to worry about 'foreign competition'.

>It's not bait, mate

That's like, your opinion, man.

Also,
> who are you quoting?

There no "Gods", there is only one God, and that God has only one OS, TempleOS.

>Being a mechanic

>You stupid fucking twat
The study of human culture will outlast computers so long as people come to realize that all their doing on their 'computers' is recording and leaving cookie crumb trails of interests so that global markets and 'programmers' can direct appropriate advertisements and commercials your way in hopes of selling you products you don't need because the American economy relies too heavily on foreign labor and goods.

Computer repairers are pointless when every fucking 'computer expert' and review says, "It would be easier to buy a new computer."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer

just install adblock or ublock or something christ this is like the first thing you do after downloading a browser

Can you smell the edge on this thread? Jesus.

If it's that fucking easy, why isn't AdBlock a default add-on to every browser?
Why isn't Microsoft Office free?

Edge... psshhtt
You repairers, mechanics, technicians, probably specialize in one field of computer study. Like the rest of the workers who actually build the computers made on a massive global scale, all you do is read the schematics of someone else's designs and call it your own.
That superiority that comes with knowing the differences between refresh-rate and pixel-rate, being able to identify a processor, being able to take apart your computer and put it back together with the help of a Youtube guide.
Fucking typical shit.

nothin personnel kid

Whatever user, I'm sure the world is very interested in your hot takes on the Cuban missile crisis and Pre-Raphaelite revivalism.

I agree that study of the humanities leads to a more informed and pleasant life overall, but you know what ""programmers"" brought upon? Not having to lug around actual money when wanting to buy something, not having to rely on physical transportation to send a letter.

Imagine that, I would've had to pay some cents and write on actual paper to call you a gargantuan faggot.

If you dislike the trappings of modernity so much go back to your horse and carriage Amish retreat.

> so long as people come to realize (sic)
That's your problem right there, "people" will never come to "realise". it always was about bread and circus, it will always be about bread and circus, It's panem and circensem all the way down. So, why are you on a Kyrgyz accordion-tuning imageboard? Why aren't you taking academia and popular culture by storm with your fresh interpretations on philosophy, culture and society? It's because you live in a motte-and-bailey of unwarranted self-importance.

Whoah there, if you tip your fedora so hard, it might fall off your head

Don't get me wrong. The possibilities of computers are limitless. As is the human imagination. And I fucking love computers yet hate Windows and Macintosh as much as the next guy.
But people want to listen to music, and watch anime, and read blogs and look at funny pictures, and call each other names with anonymity. People want to research how to do shit in real life. People want the news.
And it's important that we have computer technicians and repairers but it's equally important that we understand the difference between a hobby and a career. You can make them work for you at the same time, but I'm assuming no one in this thread will be over thirty, so I would advise reconsidering fixing stupid people's mistakes for a living when you can hardly afford WoW in the first place.

Windows 95 and the first Macintosh computers were the future. Sega was the future. Camera phones and GPS satellite imaging became the future. The world is ever changing. Don't get stuck in the past. The present might be the only thing that exists but, you will wake up after you fall asleep, I can assure you of that. Windows 10 won't be around forever. A new Xbox will come out soon. VR Goggles will probably hit shelves at the same time a re-released Barbie doll hits the shelf.
Fuck me, repairing computers? Re pair these nuts with your mouth. We all clowns in this mother fucker.

I thought about it. But then I was accepted into med school and I would rather do that.

I have to fucking pry you baby's mouths open just so you type a response.

This is what I want. Now there's digital currency. Like hundreds of kinds at that. All worth something different every fucking day because of what you are limited to buy and I assume the basic principles of economic science and society's spending habits.
So on, and son on. But if that's the only advancement in your eyes and the rest of your response is attacking irrelevant made-up assumptions of myself then whatever. It's not a first.

Computers could bring people together for one global cause like world peace or ending world hunger perhaps but we have drug lords restricting outside world communication and government pushing limitations of internet usage - so on, and so on. It's hard enough keeping telephone communications under surveillance and control without having to worry too heavily about the next level of grids. I'm of course referring to the fact that not every foreign URL domain is available in other countries. Not to mention that whole, Great Firewall of Chine thing.

Point is - the importance of computer tech's are pivotal. I wouldn't agree with colleges and marketers selling the idea that we desperately need them when on the other hand we have everyone else arguing about the competition of the job market and another side arguing about our tech specialists not speaking English. So it's like, Who's right?

Ccomputer repair technicians are the only thing lower than IT guys, who in turn are worse than codemonkeys, who are worse than computer scientists, who are worse than computer/ electrical/ mechanical engineers such as myself.

So in other words, I enjoy making more than minimum wage.

Sweet quads mate

Sending messages isn't a programmer invention you asshole. Try Morse Code and telegraphs.
Computation maybe, but not programming. Especially not understanding an outdated computer language and passing off lines of code as programming as if you were the first person to think of DOSKEY.

Hopefully people do come to realize. I would hate for my country's people in the eyes of other countries to have a bad image that we can't control...

And did you go to college for that?

Yeah I hope your gay thread dies soon, OP; faster than the battery in your iPhone or Android that you still think is as cool as when it first came out.

I do.
it sucks.

...

Because it's not fun unless you're autistic.

Why would I work on computers when I can work on smartphones and tablets?

Because the pay fucking sucks.

COMPUTERS NOT THE FUTURE

got it

computing

not the future

got it

I'm a cook for a living and I repair and build computers in my spare time.

Being in a mildly low income area I've often had to build them as cheap as possible, but it's too boring to do for days on end or the fun would go.

those interactions are just brief and to the point

>dat hunch

Why repair something that is broken, when you can buy it brand new one more time?

You sound salty, but make a good point. What do you think the future is, if not a computer? What would make them outdated and take their place?

If that is the illusion, what is reality?

Because I make way more money designing corporate systems.
