Opera got a free vpn bundled with its browser (Currently the developer version.) Would this be something that would make you switch browsers?

What? The Chinese are going to arrest me now for shitposting?
ask yourself this user
what do they get out of allowing anyone and everyone to tunnel all of their traffic through their server
Advertising info?
I don't get it, it's not like they could snoop my encrypted traffic for credit cards, a simple virus from the application would do that better.
well its either your isp logs everything of it and gives it to the government or opera tracks it and maybe gives it to the government.
Probably. I do use it for legitimate purposes (not ban evading), so that's pushing me to use it.
Whats the point of a VPN if you're not going to use it to do illegal shit? srs question
>Protecting yourself from tracking
>Ban evading (i don't encourage this)
etc.
something not illegal now could become illegal in the future.
Blocking in certain countries (Russia, Germany etc.)
>vpn
>literally just a proxy
question marks

and there are also many other legitimate uses for VPNs

How long until Mozilla features a VPN in Firefox?
Routing your personal traffic through servers controlled by Mozilla is probably someone's wet dream over there.
They'd probably also include some kind of censoring platform with it as well. For your internet safety, of course.
vpns are encryption for networks you don't trust
if you use one at home, you either lack trust in your isp/country, or you're using it to spoof
if you're using it in public, you're just someone that isn't retarded
I'm already using Opera. There's no feature that will get me to switch to Chropera.
I only visit /g and youporn. Why do I need a vpn?
I'm living overseas and can't access a lot of stuff from my home country, so a VPN is very handy.
Opera ha just been hacked and all synced data stolen.

Wouldn't trust any VPN by them. Will blatantly be monitoring all your keystrokes
