Has anyone else been having huge problems with the new Anniversary update for Windows 10?
>hard drive issues
>runs slower
>long boot
Anniversary Update
i have 3 discs and one (softwares and data backup) started acting slower, at some point being unaccessible and then causing the pc to boot and ask me to insert a proper boot device
I'm not too sure regarding the cause, it's an old disk after all and the anniversary update caused no issue to me
after the AU my pc doesn't recognize my external hdd
Is going back to the old build error proof?
Ive had that issue with my main Hard disk though it only started happening after the update, though Ive only had it for almost two years so I dont expect it to be failing
wincucks cucked again
why would you have windows 10 installed anyway?
Win10 AU actually fixed some of my issues:
>faster boot
>more stable
>fixed up menus
>actually remembers all of my settings now how it's supposed to
It did however give me a single problem that I have to deal with from time to time, but it's more of my sound card's driver issue.
fucking hate realtek
No problems here
Im thinking to revert to previous compilation anyway
>5 minute boot up
>2 hour shutdown
>literally removed drivers
>slow as fuck
>something went wrong :(
>something went wrong :(
>something went wrong :(
Only thing not working for me is the LongPath group policy... I want to organize my iM@S music but I can't move it from the torrent download folder because hurr durr path too long.
Oh the complete lack of surround sound support no matter if it's Dolby or DTS and 5.1 or 7.1 surround going over coax or optical?
Yeah. Fuck Microsoft and fuck Realtek.
This release has been ass for surround support for almost an entire year and I'm pissed
It removed my Kubuntu install because MS apparently cannot into partitions, but other than that no.
What did you expect from Microsoft?
Use this instead: ubuntu-mate.org
Does the "anniversary update" install by itself when Windows does updates?
I am quite worried about this since I have Windows 10 on my computer but I don't normally use it, so I'm worried that I might decide to boot into Windows one day and then find my Gentoo partitions have disappeared.
Offline gaming machine.
When I restart my computer now my second monitor does not show the desktop, I have to turn it on and off again to get it to work.
When it feels like it. No warning. Just like that.
Horrible mouse lag that can only be turned off by setting up a microsoft account, using it to log into that xbox app and turning off "Game DVR".
We should make a petition
this motherfking skype interface, idk if is update or something, but for this motherfking interface, I certainly kill. I just installed windows 10, Cortana fucks my ass and other background apps suck a lot of ram, but I don't care, they can steal all my information and sell them to whatever they want, this shit is gold....
Still makes all the icons on the start menu dissapear for me, and now youtube-dl from powershells does the open file dialog and nothing else.
Same broken shit, really
I hope that the update they have planned for tomorrow will fix most issues
that is so fucking sexy
Same problem here
>using skype
people actually do this?
besides when dealing with old people who don't know shit about technology?
Unfortunately.
Is the recovery process fast to go back to the older build?
>using skype
>it isnt 2009
Yup.
Script I used to log in the regular desktop from rdp so I could stream steam games broke. (powershell)
Immediately after the update, computer was soft bricked and I had to clear cmos.
Hyper-V doesn't re-start servers that were running on shutdown anymore, you have to explicitly check always start regardless of state.
Probably unrelated but one of my 3TB barracuda drives with my plex media on failed the same day.
ITT: people complaining about Windows 10 either because they don't know how to use a computer or because they pretend a new system to run like a charm on toasters
I have installed it and it's nothing but FREE and GREAT
Bunch of Lunix shills spreading FUD ITT
This new system should have the same requirements as the old ones
It doesn't and I don't see why it should.
RAM is cheaper, CPU/GPUs are faster.
stop being poor
Get me a job and I will
No. Just check XP. It works on 500MB RAM while 7 needs 1GB and that's only if you won't open anything other than paint and notepad. But I agree that Windows 10 uses too many resources on bloatware and spyware.
Microsoft intentionally breaks shit if you try to use things outside of their ecosystem.
Proud Windows user here, all the software works really well.
I was comparing 10 to 7 and 8. I thought that was obvious.
>Has anyone else been having huge problems with the new Anniversary update for Windows 10?
Not really, after updating I didn't notice a single change.
same tbhfam
The update seems to have disabledmy ability to type in all Windows 10 menus. That includes the new start menu/search. Fucking weird.
I was a proud Windows user until Microsoft screwed me over
That doesn't change my point. The new systems always used more resources.
>he's NEET
my condolences
I had an issue where my hard drive would simply restart and it only started after the update
Stop hacking my account
That same shit happened with one of my drives. I had to stop using it because I was passing it to a hyper-v instance and it was causing the drive to disappear.
Yah I saw your situation, from what I know your hard drive isn't failing its just the update, I use a HDD and its doing it to MY MAIN harddrive which was the most irritating experience with Windows to date
Im going to go to the previous build as quick as I can
Yup, they broke some part of Xbox controller support. Have to power cycle the controller to get it recognized. Windows 10 feels like the lottery, every time I boot up there's a chance something different will happen, usually at my expense.
Continued. though after turning off real-time protection and getting a 64x update for anniversary I haven't experienced any restarts
My Linux install is too retarded to boot ever since I upgraded to GTX 1080s, so it's not a big loss in my case specifically. I needed to nuke it and reinstall a newer version anyway. It's still completely retarded that MS even released such a disastrous update that fucking destroys partitions on your system.
Nope, all systems operational and performing above expectations
Definitely, I actually read that they laid off most of the people that were supposed to be "testing it", it was just a horrible excuse for an update and it honestly effected my view of microsoft.
>AMD
You didn't have high expectations to begin with.
>I actually read that they laid off most of the people that were supposed to be "testing it"
Somebody should definitely pay for that crap, destroying your customer's data is absolutely unforgivable. I didn't have anything important on my Linux partition since everything is on my home server, but I'm sure a lot of people had a very nasty surprise.
nothing wrong with AMD you assravaged asian fuccboi
No. ALL of them. Programmers double as testers as well. Take wild guesses how well that works ANYWHERE. They are literally dumping the whole testing part to users.
Enjoy you're hardware backdoors intelishit.
pajeet...
I'm white
stop trying to turn every thread into an AMD vs Nvidia and fuck off to >>Sup Forums
bye
I'd proudly run a defective amd CPU if it meant Windows 10 worked on it
i can't put my computer in sleep mode or else it won't turn back on.
Just went to the earlier build and that worked great
posting from gf's laptop. Just noticed she has windows 10 installed. there is no windows.old folder and no option to roll back to 8.1
she is telling me she did the upgrade install, so these options should be there but they arent. where do i go from here??
It just twerks.
Posting from my chink 2-in-1 windows tablet
>mfw when people use Windows outside a VM
You can disable it via the registry.
You only get 30 days to roll back. Start building a time machine.
>Wincucks need to edit obscure HEX keys to tweak basic mouse settings.
>le just werks may may.
How do you actually turn off forced updates? I've tired and tried and can't do it.
>Stupid goy still thinks it's his OS.
When will cucks learn?
I updated the anniversary update like weeks ago, rebooted into linux, and haven't booted windows 10 since.
No problems so far.
What 1 on 1 and group voice service with things like screen sharing and file transfer do you use? Not trying to sound dicky, I'm actually curious because I'm forced into Skype because of those reasons.
shift while pressing restart
more options
roll back to previous build

The best you can do is change your Group Policy and Registry Edit to "Notify to Update" on Pro and above. Or completely turn off Windows Update.
I haven't any problem since the Windows 10™ Anniversary Update. In fact, it's one of the smoothest experience in a Windows™ desktop. Thank you Microsoft™ for providing the best Windows™ experience with Windows 10™.
My favourite part about the Anniversary Update is Bash on Windows™. Now I really have no reason to install Linux.
>bleeding edge fags BTFO
>live in the state the OS was developed
>never recieved it thru auto updates
>was blocked within days because of konwn issues
>only way to get it is to manually click download now on the microsoft website
