Post uptimes, PC only edition, no servers allowed.

Does handled count?

Here you go

why would you ever need to shutdown or reboot your PC ?

windows

To save on power

...

>33days uptime
>new record
>kernel update
>reboot
>just see this thread now
>tfw

Getting close to ten days

It's been transcoding videos the entire time

>felipão is ded

I compile the kernel daily.

Suspend?

How are you posting here

>tfw not as cool as op

How often should you restart a Windows system?

...

Just clean installed Windows 10 over Arch Linux

I think I won

debian laptop

is this bad?

5 series?

I think I've won

Wonder the same. Is there any legit reason other than it serving as some kind of a server?

Nope, just amazing.

is there any benefit to it always being low? Just curious im in uni so its always on

windows starts to slow down after ~2 weeks on my machine

it's fucking gay

Of course not.
But having it this long means you haven't been installing updates.

i noticed that updating my computer fucked with my start up settings, almost everything turned on which led to it crashing. It's such a shitty computer i hate it hahaha.

Phone

>no servers allowed
Try and stop me, normalfag.

My room get's hot as hell if I don't.

r8

Why reboot? power use... makes AC run more.

Other than that I rebooted my torrent box Sunday Afternoon. It was at 63 days. It's a low power PC. Torrents at about 70 watts. When I tap on all the drives and light up monitor it goes to about 170 watts. Max is about 210 watts loaded. Values are from my UPS.

boring

Every hour to refresh the RAM.

"It's too hot in here" clockspeeds.

I put mine on sleep when I'll be back soon, otherwise I shut it down and also turn off the surge protector I have for my room. uses less electricity since all my stuff is plugged into it and turns them all off if I'm gone.
my pc boots in 25 seconds anyway so I don't care

it only takes tens of minutes to compile the linux kernel
configuring is a different story

>2016
>Not turning your computer off at night.
>Wasting valuable electrons.
>Solder joints don't loosen like it's 1999.

Why not just put it in sleep mode so you can instantly bring it back on when you get up in the morning?

get fucked OP

>2016
>not posting updog
plebs

what is updog?

You got beat

not much, and you?

>just let me ssh into my rpi that I forgot about and don't use

not much you?

>tfw those clock speeds

its not a RPI you fucking cock. its a thin client and it gets used daily.

...

y u mad tho?

feels like 2009

...

i wish i took a screenshot, never thought it would be relevant.
>summer 2014
>build pc
>live in rural area
>frequent power outages
>buy surge protector
>surge protector trips within a month
>never realized it
>another power outage
>motherboard suffers minor damage
>turn on pc
>frame stuttering like a motherfucker
>restart pc
>happens again
>restart again
>third time everything works as normal.
>realize if I ever shut off my PC, I'll need to reboot it over and over again until I get a "good boot"
>keep pc on all summer
>56 day uptime
>power outage ends summer-long windows session

still takes power

I don't know about you but mine boots quick and I can be posting on 4chinz maybe 50 seconds from when I press the power button

...

Can anyone explain how an i5 is getting those speeds?

How do you even last a year? Where I'm at, lightning will blacken your neighborhood at least once a year.

Do you people have generators or something?

My guess would be liquid nitrogen and some serious overclocking.

>139 Days, 5 Hours, 18 Minutes, 2 Seconds
Not bad for WindowsXP.

its called a UPS you turd wrangler. they come in all sorts of sizes that can range from 10 mins of uptime to several hours of uptime during power failures.

In what type of bumfuck country do you live in?

you dont rely solely on a surge protector fucktard.. you get a UPS instead. it provides battery backup, surge and power protection all in one.

I put mine to sleep at night but my ethernet driver causes it to hang at sleep sometimes and I have to power it off

I actually have this problem. If I download something big like 15gigs and up my ram doesnt clear the memory so i have to do a boot.

Have been trying to figure out the problem ever since i built the piece of shit.

Tell me more.

no. google it you moron

>It's not my job to tell you about white privilege, educate yourself
Well fuck you too.

the third world country known as rural upstate new york

My phone. Do I win?

What the fuck? I shut down my PC every night.

My desktop PC's fans are loud and they disturb my sleep

Post again in 7 hours.

You said in twice.

No those were dubs but i didnt say anything "in twice"

I rarely turn off my laptop, unless I unplug it and forget about it.

>In what type of bumfuck country do you live in?
Either say
>What type of bumfuck country do you live in?
or if you don't like ending sentences with prepositions, say
>In what type of bumfuck country do you live?
or I guess say 'em both. I'm not the boss of you.

updates ?

>why would you ever need a secure PC?

what does this say about me?

I don't get it. How can you have 18 years uptime but have a modern OS?

Silly user, those are days.

kek

Hibernate.
Uses no power and starts up much faster than a regular boot up

What did I do

It says that you're a leet hacker.

38 days

Rebooted yesterday to disable/re-enable SIP for my work VPN...was about 20 days before

...

24:07:27

Totally forget what I rebooted for. Think it was just power loss.

And that's days, not hours.

24 hours is only one day, so not days butt day.

God damn you.

Due to a recent shut off in endeavors, I cannot post an impressive up-time this time around, but just for the sake of effort to contribution, I will say that I have had my PC run for 6 days. well 5 and some amount of hours, so we will call 5 days. Don't usually like to do that but that was a very lazy week for me kek kek kek
