Stop making shit threads faggot and gb2reddut.
>newfaggot pretends not to be from rebbit
Pretty accurate...
Why can't I buy any of favinov's watch hands? Are they all sold out already?
reminder
>tracking only earth time
>not tracking the entire solar system.
only $245,000
I only buy Casio
These are pointless unless you launch your own solar system probes and eyeball the launch windows.
I've been wearing the white version of this for the last year, just purchased the black version since I've fallen in love with this watch.
This is cool.
>tfw the time has come to repay a major loan
No more watches for me for 9 months.
Fuck.
You're reinforcing my beliefs about /wt/.
>ha ha nice cheap seiko faggot
>bet you wish you had a panerai like me!
>brb i need to make a payment on my student loan
lmao
how out of date is this guide?
very
a bunch of categories are missing, it should be easy to find one that's more complete
you'll find the same info plus some new one I think
in soviet russia we wear watch around hand
...
Any watch over $10 is pointless then.
why you not wear vostok offical watch of strong men
Parnis watches are acceptable as long as they have a seagull movement right?
Seagulls are generally good movements yes, but some are better than others. ST2130 is their best non-chronograph movement.
I'm considering a few of them down the road. I'll keep that in mind.
I like a lot of the parnis offerings aesthetically, I just don't want a bad movement. Seagull I know isn't amazing but it does seem to be acceptable.
some parnis use new miyota 9100 movement. not many watch use this yet
Do you know if anyone is selling them in the states yet?
is longines trash for around the 1k-1.3k mark
is it better to go for oris, or maybe just to save for a much more expensive piece?
I'm pretty fond of the flagship heritage
You can get them from amazon or ebay. But one with the 9100 only on ebay because new model. most cheap seagull automatic bulky so recommend get hand wind like this on amazon for $99 us dollar.
If you mean new, yes.
If you mean vintage, which hopefully you do if you like their heritage, then you can get some great stuff for 1k and under.
Consider this, which is a tuning fork longines which just sold the other day
ebay.com
What is that?
Where do I get it?
>ST2130 is their best non-chronograph movement.
st1812 is considered a better movement. 2892 clone whereas the 2130 is a 2824 clone. or something along those lines.
They're all quite boring except the Seiko 007
>st1812
you are right i forgot about that sorry. not so common movement
its a parnis watch which homage IWC style face. you can get from greenstars0614 on ebay. that one is ~$251, yes it is expensive because movement much better than usual parnis
wrong link.. this one is the right color
I like thier chronograph with modified 7750 with column wheel. But its $1700...
Even the seiko is discontinued now. Closest thing too it is the monster now.
Here's my seagull. The rate isn't great... needs to be regulated. Its worse face up.
...
That's pretty steep for Parnis. At $250 you get close to things like a sale on a Hamilton.
Most of the appeal of Parnis is the low cost.
I've tried fucking everything with Hamilton.
They don't make a SINGLE good watch
I looked through their entire website, had them send me their catalog and again, looked through the whole thing; there's not a single watch that isn't either total dogshit or has a better alternative.
What the actual fuck. Why do people reccomend them again? Even fucking Tissot has some decent models.
>Regulating a chink movement
Have fun bro
I mostly like this thing except for how stupid that "15" looks:
hamiltonwatch.com
been tempted to buy it on a couple occasions after shitty days but haven't pulled the trigger yet because of that goddamn eyesore of a "15"
Longines make a few decent watches (and the only semi-affordable pulsometer) but their considered to be shit by watch autists; and you would have a hard time trying to sell one.
I would say avoid. Same goes with Oris and their disgusting proprietary lugs
Expensive for a parnis sure.. but not a lot of watches actually use the 9100. Theres like two other ebay brands what use it. This ones actually cheaper than the parnis at $200 but its a completely unknown ebay mushroom brand.
Thats what I would seriously consider as a good watch as well; a handwind 2804 with a half decent crystal and all, but there's just so much wrong with it
>Trash lume
>Hands too short, it looks like a fucking chink quartz
>The fucked up 3 o'clock
>Garbage strap
>No AR on crystal, mirror on wrist
>The new ones have a fucking Apple-like font on the dial what the fuck
>Shitty chink looking bead blasting, not even close to what a seiko 5 snk has.
I would rather just put the 250 towards a better watch
>9100
Who fucking cares? Non chrono subdials are cancer
It's a $250 watch with a 4hz eta movement. Is there even another watch for the same price or cheaper with the same movement?
the 3 o'clock/date window/still putting the fucking military time and ruining that whole circle is the real dealbreaker for me. i like to think of the apple-like font more as an armitron-like font but i don't have anything against apple and their products that just twerk. the strap would be in the trash as quickly as i could get it off. i was also toying with the idea of a coward c5 slimline but wish it were 37-38mm instead of 40
christopherward.com
also not a huge fan of their marketing but it's a cheap handwound that would be better than the only hw i currently have, a curry hmt
what were we talking about again? hamilton? yeah, they suck now. even sadder when you see the amazing stuff hamilton used to make when they were an actual american watchmaker.
I used to have a parnis, the finish was actually really good. The only down side was the movement they used was massive and the watch was too bulky for me so I gave it away. A parnis with a miyota might be interesting, get the parnis finish but not the usual parnis bulk.
The movement is great, but everything else is shit
I was going to buy it but I put the money away to save for this perfection of a watch.
>[SLIMLINE]
ugh
Tissot la meme gives you the same movement with a cooler looking dial for cheaper. You can also save for a Nomos.
>Parnis finish
Having a chink rub his pubes on a case and calling it "brushing" is what passes for good finishing these days?
have you tried a 356 on yet? those fuckers are thick as a puck
>Tissot la meme
tissot makes a small and cheap 2801/4/whatever handwound?
I think MWC makes a field watch with the 2804. But I read that it was just as shitty as the Hamilton
It's an automatic mechanical chrono with a domed crystal, 14mm is actually slim.
The la loche reccomendation was as an alternative to the chris ward that you posted.
i'm not bad-mouthing the 356, i have the utc version of that watch and love it but it's both small and really tall. it feels a little high on the wrist, and then there's the wobble. definite love-hate with the valjoux wobble.
are the brands limes and archimede any good?
I kinda like the jew wobble. Kinda weird that sinn didn't modify it to be bi directional
I'm also looking at the 556
How much will it cost to service a 7750?
I kinda want to get a chrono but not sure if I want to spend hundreds on it every few years for service.
Can you afford a mechanical chronograph?
is a 1965 accutron railroad series 214 with "no scratches" and a clean dial in working condition for $210 a good deal
556 is a nice watch. i used to think a tegimented 656 with a domed crystal would be the end-all so i bought a non-utc 856 when it was released even though it was 40mm instead of 38 and had a flat crystal but i was never as happy with it as i thought i'd be. also managed to scratch the case when some drunk girl stumbled into me and i brushed up against a tiled wall, so... get the 556 and don't look back.
Yeah, I'm not rich by any means but I have some money to spend. I dont really have any other hobbies.
7750 chronographs are generally quite bulky due to the movement. Might be better to get a cosc quartz chrono since cheaper, less maintenance, more accurate and thinner.
Save up for a russian chronograph or a speedmaster if you want mechanical chrono. Chinese chrono might be good too. I would recommend against 7750 due to bulkiness.
Blood and sweat is what makes your hobby meaningful, shitter.
Not one sapphire crystal in the list? Can anyone explain?
>sorry I'm late guys, bank repossessed my car
>but hey check out this neat watch I bought
>practically a STEAL at just over $4k!
super old list... see
>tfw I fall for the meme and bought a steinshit a year and half ago because of this chart.
Not really complaining though, I love wearing it and it feels really good to wind up the watch every morning. It's like a ritual for me.
pretty good meme
mine gains about 4-5s a day
i don't mind grinding against shit at work
This is pretty much Archie in a nutshell, his next vid will probably be out of a cardboard box.
>check out my $20k solid gold Sub
>btw I need help please donate
>*66% of the solar system
Did you get your sinn on the H-link bracelet?
I'm debating if it's worth the price difference
Its the average price for one
I'm not a bracelet guy, they both came on pretty crappy and stiff hirsch straps that i replaced with shell cordovan. I wear them on natos, too. I've tried the bracelet at the watchbuys show and it felt nice enough but obviously it wasn't sized for me.
just thought about this a little, you should get it on bracelet since the strap is guaranteed to be replaced anyway. ~$200 more isn't too bad.
>people are still spreading the "people with smartwatches aren't short sighted retards" meme
stop that
What do you think about Tisell?
I'm thinking about getting their 9015 flieger when they get a new batch
Pretty decent for ~200 cuckbucks
Well if you take in account that a nice engineer bracelet is only around a hundred then the Sinn bracelet wouldn't be worth it.
i don't an engineer-style bracelet would look good on either a 356 or 556, particularly if you can't get it with perfectly curved end links for the case
>longines
good value for money
abysmal brand (new ones)
Instead, buy a used omega
The front of the Tisell look good, but the movement literally look like cheap chinese made shit. However its probably one of the cheaper pilots mechanical in the market.
tfw your post kills the thread
is Swatch a good brand?
People gotta sleep.
Good quality quartz watches, avoid the mechanicals.
no rest for the wicked senpai
The 9015 is a good movement
The only other cheap flieger thats any good is the orient one; but the latter has the logo and a date on the dial ruining it.
Alcohol has it's benefits.
get vintage user
I have a citizen watch with small gems (diamond appearance) around the crystal, a few of them have lost their white diamond appearance and one is almost just dull black, however it still appears like the gem is still in place and has not fallen out.
Is there a reason for this happening?
Watch is maybe 10 months old since date of purchase
The "gems" are fake
They're swarovski crystal, just couldn't be bothered to confirm them before so just said gems as a placeholder.
I know they aren't valuable jewels, but I wouldn't of thought the aforementioned would happened with crystal either.
you mean theyre glass cut to look like precious stones. it could possible be oxidation or something but really i dont think anyone in /wt/ knows about this sort of stuff
Fair enough, granted I don't know a lot about watch lines. It was from their Eco-drive line and was told that they were swarovski crystal, I understand they could be lying but guess want to have give them the benefit of doubt and assume they know the products they are selling.
theyre not lying, swarovski is just a brand name for glass cut like jewels.
Show movement pics of the far right and far left.
This is my collection.
>he wakes up
>cries
Paid for 12 chinese families to live like kings for a year there user
>for a year
Maybe for a lifetime
Fake or not, some of those look truly bizarre.
