meme?

best tech ever?

better off with a chrome book?

Meme

Looks cool tbqh, but its better a rp alone connected to a screen/monitor, cause if the rp fucks up you only change it to another for 30$ or even with c.h.i.p. that costs 9$

Where's the battery? Does it properly support things like battery percentage?

it's a boring-ass raspberry pi hooked up to the shittiest peripherals ever made

garbage. odroid always have and will be better than rasp pis

It's neat but overpriced as fuck. I'd debate getting one if my Ci20 would fit though.

For chip there is the pocketchip, can't say the delivery is too fast though. Preordered mine around may/july and thus far only got an email saying the shipping will take a while longer. Also eurofag so there is extra waiting for me.

it's an rpi hooked up to a shitty screen, with a shitty laptop keyboard and trackpad.
obviously it's going to be shit, the RPI is only good for throwing a light OS and using it to do small tasks

if they made it a subnotebook i'd buy one

image for reference

I'm suprised some phone manufacturer hasn't made one of these as an add on for a "plus" or "note" phone

i'd love to see them make a come back

the vaio branch had a great idea going with the p series

however, i think it was a 3G based device which kinda killed it imo

we could totally pack a pentium and 4gb of ram into one of these fuckers with a 32gb mpcie ssd with today's tech

dont wanna hear shit about chromebooks either, not small enough

nope, I'd prefer a cheap ass chromebook with celeron CPU

>3G based device which kinda killed it imo
How? Plenty of laptops have 3G. I've got three different laptops and a UMPC with 3G radios. It's not like Wi-Fi and Ethernet don't exist just because it's capable of cellular data.

looks like a good gift for a kid

oops, my bad, just looked it up, thought it was strictly 3G

nvm, no idea why they stopped making these

could've been because of the price tag tho

not sure how well they sold

>nvm, no idea why they stopped making these
>could've been because of the price tag tho
>not sure how well they sold
I'll give you one guess
they got piss poor battery life, had only 2 gigs of ram, ran windows vista, had a terrible netbook processor, and used they still cost $450
maybe if it had updated specs, and was new at $450 more people would have liked it, but it still would have flopped hard because the only OS people like to use on devices that size is ios on their ipad

>32G mass and 4G ram
With today tech we could totally pack 16GB of Ram and 256GB of storage with a fucking quad core desktop i7 inside. I'd sell one of my kidneys just to get a Vaio P like that with a dock.

You're better of buying an old Thinkpad (x40?), a shitty new tablet... basically anything that isn't this shit. It's a "because I could" device, not "this makes sense" device.

I don't get why they went for such an awkward layout.

how's the trackpoint on that thing?

battery life is part of the beauty for these things user

i think an i7, even if skylake, would kill a device that small in no time

i imagine its like a blackberry or sidekick lx

Dafuq? My x220 has a 10+ hours battery life (9cell + slice) on full load with a goddamn i7 sandy bridge, so I see no excuses that a new comparable device couldn't pull that off with a smaller battery and lesser power draw.

I'd use a risc laptop if it came in the form of an x60.

meme
it's horrible

It would be really really cool for robotics if it wasn't so big. It's almost too big to fit on a ROS turtlebot

check out pocketchip, making your own umpc with chip or something similar, or the dragonbox pyra.

The PiTop looks kind of bad compared to those things desu, but then again some of the design decisions on the raspberry pi were questionable to begin with for applications like this.

not small enough
not cheap enough

stillborn product

What the fuck am i looking at.

>$300
