Not a browser war

Hello Sup Forums, the weirdest thing just happened to me, and I have no idea what's behind it.
Not really a tech support, since everything got back to working fine on its own, but more a tech curiosity.

In short:
after restarting the pc Opera and Vivaldi weren't able to access the web, but were able to navigate local folders.
At the exact same time Edge and Firefox had no trouble at all loading any website.
Checked firewall settings, everything allowed corretly.

After 10/15 minutes the page I had left open trying to load loaded in Opera, and right after in Vivaldi and everything went back to normal.

What the shit.
I can't think of a good reason webkit based browser would stop connecting for a while while all other programs connect just fine, just to start working again as if nothing happened a few minutes after.

Inb4 botnet.

I would give myself an obscenely wrong answer just to get contraddicted by someone and start a discussion, but with IP count I can't even samefag.

So shameless selfbump.
Really, does anyone have any idea of what could cause just some browser to be unable to connect to the internet, while other keep working?

The only reason I use Firefox at the moment is because Chrome doesn't like the 50tabs and 40 extensions.

Lots of better reasons to not use chrome:
-botnet
-no "self destructing cookies" add-on
-bloat
-ugly, low customiztion interface

But yeah, that wasn't the point of my post.

firewall or local storage or you got ownd.

but every time i think the same i just rest all my hardware.

good to seee another vivaldi user. i just wish they could improve their tab shortcuts.

Interested in an answer, bump

Checked firewall.
Not local storage thought.

Do webkit based browsers have shared local storage?
Because the weirdest thing is that I also haven't been using Opera in months.
Also the whole "being able to navigate local folders, but not the web".

Also what would you like improved in tab shortcuts?

were you signed into opera? or otherwise using your local profile for vivaldi and opera? they're both chrome based and i had a similar issue with chrome yesterday, even after re-installation. it should work if you sign out or otherwise use a generic profile. delete yours if you have to. it will connect.

Not signed in Opera.
Vivaldi doesn't even have a sign in option.
Everything went back to working with no intervention on my side.

I restarted the computer once, but it didn't work.
Yet, ten minutes later, out of the blue things fixed themselves.

What's the music to these lovely lyrics?

it's most likely because you are stupid lmao

stupidity protection, you know, the one Sup Forums always bitches about? duuuh....

So you're implying it's because of some virus?
I'm pretty sure that's not the case, as also Malwarebytes gave me the green light.
Also, given your typing style, I'm pretty sure the stupid one is you.

Why don't you just install Linux 16.04?

>Linux 16.04
nice meme

But honestly, because I program in c# for a living.

My other machine runs Debian, though.

Debian is too old.

I prefer stabilty to bleeding edge on that machine.

>ugly, low customiztion interface
Chrome is the best looking browser desu.

If you have shit taste it sure is.

No, you.

You use Firefox because of the ugly interface? Why? I thought Firefox's ugly interface was something you would be *putting up with* when you threw on the tinfoil hat and dropped Chromium, but if that's why you use it... (?)

Firefox 38esr with classic theme restorer.
Also not really.
I use firefox for Sup Forums and porn, since it has the add on "self destructing cookies".
My main browser is Vivaldi.

Both have much more customizability than Chrome.

Vivaldi has less customization. Are you kidding? Vivaldi allows you to change the background color of new tabs. Nice meme.

>he uses ff in order to stop cookies
why not just use incognito you autist

Because I want to have a nice porn bookmarks collection and history and not having to switch between incognito and not for different stuff.

You're pretty behind. It allows much more than that.

Can we now go back to OP topic?
