What's the best laptop I can get on a $500 - $700 budget? Primarily looking for something with strong audio and visuals because I watch a lot of movies.

There's some Lenovo Yoga laptops with 1080 resolution but notice the screen size to calculate the ppi. The smaller the better obviously. There's an 11" inch Yoga for around $400.

This Yoga one is $100 cheaper, at $399

bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-2-11-2-in-1-11-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i3-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/5631500.p?skuId=5631500&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=be1b0ffe-8779-4aad-b901-71db0b48202f&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=pg198991&ksdevice=c&lsft=ref:212,loc:2

Oops the $399 one is 1366 x 768 HD resolution though.

But this one is $499 and 1080 resolution, 11" screen smaller but makes the 1080 look even better, 128GB (I'd use an external hard drive for storage), 4GB probably upgradeable, touchscreen too, but you can disable it.

This one is also similar to the Yoga same price

$499

There's a model without the facial recognition feature with the webcam if you're paranoid (which is reasonable paranoia these days).

I have a Yoga 2 currently, it's complete shit and falling apart.
Also, I should have mentioned in the OP that I'm looking for something with 1TB or 500GB+.

>watching movies on your laptop
Fucking plebs I swear

There's some Thinkpads for around $600-$700. Check out the Lenovo website.

It looks good with at least 1080 resolution on a 15" or smaller screen. It's not like you're looking at it 10 feet away, it's right there in your face about 2 feet away and looks perfect.

get the new macbook with touchbar, forget all the imitators

I dislike 2-in-1's, but this could work, thank you.
I'll go look up some reviews.

I was considering a ThinkPad, but I don't want a 5 year old laptop and everybody says the newer ThinkPads are shit.

It's a more intimate experience, easier to pick up dialogue and not get distracted.
And with the screen being close to me I don't need to wear my glasses.

>$500-$700 budget

It'll never look anywhere as good as on a big screen. By your logic you should get a 1440p phone and watch movies on it, sticking it right to your face

> everybody says the newer ThinkPads are shit.

Those are hipsters saying that. The new Thinkpads are good too. I just bought an L model a week ago for just under $700.

And that Dell 2-in-1 isn't bad either.

Check on the similar Dell models like. There's variations of specs and it's customizable depending how much you want to spend.

Thank you so much, man.
My current laptop I got as a free replacement for a laptop that was a present from my uncle so I had no choice either time, could've never imagined finding a laptop would be this hard.
Either there's no review for a laptop you're interested in, or the laptop will have a great screen and audio, but 100GB. It's very stressful.

Also, can I ask, what L model did you buy?

I don't mean that small. Holding a phone isn't practical. The best is somewhere in the middle. With a tv, you have a farther distance from you compared to looking at a small phone, but a laptop is somewhere in the middle. The middle is always the best.

You're welcome. L460. It was under $700, and $20 of the total was for the shipping.

I forgot to say, make sure you add the 1920 x 1080 resolution. Also, the price is a 25% pre-black friday discount probably for a limited time.

shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/l-series/l460/

One more question, how's the colors? Would you see this is an accurate review?
laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-l460

Sorry if I'm wilin, I know you only got it a week ago, but I needed a choose a laptop in September.

>make sure you add the 1920 x 1080 resolution
I've never seen a "Customize" thing like that before, that's interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

You should take one of latest Toshiba laptops if you want good screen

amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-L55W-C5357-Touchscreen-Notebook/dp/B01CLVV4DW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1477828176&sr=8-3&keywords=toshiba ips laptop

This looks nice, but everyone keeps telling me only to but T or X lines.

What are you using the L460 for, and how has it been going so far?

It seems right. I'd say it's better than the review given all the factors like the price for example.

Are you running Linux or Windows?

>lenova

dont listen to him, op
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfish

If you're willing to pay more for the T model it'd be worth it. But if you want to spend around $1000, you should go for an Dell XPS since they have like 4k screen resolution which is great for watching movies.

thinkpad t42

Every single operating system and the company or organizations that make them have some kind of scandal. That's just the nature of technology. Don't fall for the fearmongering.

fuck off lenuva

Thanks again, user.

Toshibas aren't all shit? This sounds perfect, but I heard that every Toshiba is shit.

Can you guys recommend a Laptop for mainly writing, listening music and watching movies on a decent screen while being mac-like?

Guys has anybody here have a xiaomeme notebook air 13 inch? I can get it in the supreme chinkland for 740 bucks, good idea? Also fuck apple for not updating the macbook air.

Are you Chinese bro

Opinions on the Dell Inspiron 15 i5559-4682SLV Signature Edition and Acer Aspire V3-575T-53BP?

>Touchpad all the fucking way to the left
Why do newer laptops do this shit? Why the fuck is the touchpad not in the middle anymore? It was perfect for right and left handed people.

well.. go to some big computer/electronics stores and look for those "deals"
just saw some hp laptop-full hd/i5 7200u for about 500... should be enough for you!

I have some 700 euro Toshiba sataliete,
good audio / internals ... shitty build quality and battery .. so all around it is ok on the go and quite good when with power

I mean, you're not wrong. That's what I should be doing, but I'm anxious perfectionist and I want to make sure I get the best product I can.
I get worried reading reviews and specs online, but I'm not actually a tech savvy person and I'm probably worrying for no reason.

>shitty build quality and battery .. so all around it is ok on the go and quite good when with power
Is it by any chance the Fusion 15?

well.. go for what ever has 1080p and then check what should be better for you..
and till now all the (low end) lenovos i *heard, hat shitty Audio.

Hm.. Toshiba sataliete l50-b-2ev
i think it is more of a german edition l50-b

Would a ThinkPad count as low end Lenovo?

Xiaomi mi book 12

it has a tenkey, if the touchpad were in the center, your left hand would be on top of it when at home row

laptopls without a tenkey have it centered. The touchpad is always below the spacebar

what the fuck is a tenkey

>Xiaomi mi book 12
I don't trust this at all.

>on Sup Forums
>doesn't even know what a tenkey is

ok, kid.

What's wrong with a mi book?

I said I need a new laptop, I didn't say I was tech savvy.

You tell me. I feel like whenever people talk about Xiaomi they're joking.

typical consumerist millennial

I'm not a millennial but alright

I have a question for anyone here. I travel / extended away time away from my actual gaming PC. But I have quality internet where I work / temporary leave. I currently run an MSI GP70 20E Leopard, but I would like to upgrade because it just doesn't process anymore.

What could I get for between 1000 - 1500 be able to run some of today's top games, and be durable. I'm a bit biased towards MSI but open to other ideas if they're better all around.

Should I wait until Black Friday for better deals?
