I have now owned the Xiaomi Mi Max for 1 Month.
$170 shipped from Gearbest, in Pink (not visible with any case), 16Gb version.
It's amazing. I'm still using MiUI, so it's full of Chink characters, but it's definitely usable. Hopefully I can upgrade to CyanogenMod soon when Xiaomi finally releases support. Keep in mind that I'm upgrading from a 3 year old Samsung, so the speed difference was insane for me.
I bought a LOVE MEI Waterproof and shockproof case because I like treating my phones rough.
This thing is huge and basically almost a tablet. I use it for reading, having university scripts next to me as well as browsing internet.
It's heavy though. 500 grams (with the steel case). It's too big and heavy to use comfortably with one hand. I have really big hands and I can use it with one hand, but not comfortably. With 2 hands it's grippy and obviously easy to use.
But the fact that you can just toss it around carelessly, treat it like shit, use it in the rain and in my workshop is why I love it so much.
When I throw it on the table, the table gets damaged, not the phone. Absolutely perfect for my application.
Battery life with medium usage is well over a week.
At $170 this is almost disposable, but it delivers so much.
